A most characterful, stone covered, sea facing, villa with private pool ; close to the town of Kalkan and the turqouise waters of Kalkan Bay.
This detached villa, built in 2005 is situated in a peaceful area of Kalkan very close to the sea and small beach (100m away) and well away from busy traffic. This beach is an ideal bathing spot in a beautiful corner of the bay and has free access to a small but good quality beach club where one can have a sit down meal and drink or take-away; or simply use the facilities - sun loungers and parasols. A 5 minute walk from the villa will find the local shop where friendly proprietors will supply all essential items and more on request and even deliver groceries etc. by telephone request. The Patara Prince tennis courts which are open to visitors are a 10 minute walk away. Kalkan town is accessible by foot (approx 1 km.) however taxis are readily available and very reasonable. Many people will probably have hired a car and there is parking space at the house.
The villa enjoys air conditioning throughout and is furnished most tastefully to the highest of standards using only top quality materials and furnishings.

The Turkish Mediterranean Coast region
The town of Kalkan is situated in the SW on the Mediterranean and nestles at the foot of the Toros Mountains resulting in scenery of the most spectacular kind.
Kalkan and its environs provides an ideal location for the most perfect holiday it combines a great base to explore the surrounding area with excellent activites and amenities on offer in the town itself (please see details below if you don't want to venture too far ).
There is certainly something for everyone.
This area of Turkey not unlike the rest of the country has great variety ; be it in the geography, people or climate.
Take a short trip up into the mountains and you will stumble across the truly traditional village of Bezirgan, which, against the back drop of mountain peaks can be found on a flat plain where the people still live off the land. It is a humbling experience and a step back in time - well worth a visit . Another mountain village within 15 minutes of Kalkan is Islamlar, with an abundance of river trout . Most People suggest that lunch time is the best time ; when the freshest of trout can be enjoyed whilst taking in the stunning views over Kalkan. Compare these mountain villages to the hustle and bustle of modern day Antalya, the main city of the area, and it is hard to believe that the two are only just three hours by car from each other.
To say that the area is rich in history is a huge understatement. The region is sitting on the ground of ancient Lycia and there is evidence of this everywhere. A whole host of ancient Lycian sites can be reached within the hour from Kalkan, namely : Patara, Xanthos, Pinara, Tlos, and Letoon. A little over an hour away are Myra and Kekova, whilst a little further afield ,but still easily accessble from Kalkan are Olympos and Phasselis. The most famous of the ancient sites Ephesus is also an option from Kalkan but we would suggest a very early start or an overnight stay.
Natural beauties are of course not to be missed, with both Saklikent Gorge and Patara Beach stretching a magnificent 18kms. Patara beach is a short 20 min drive from Kalkan with the Gorge being a little further at about an hour. Patara beach whilst being voted one of the best beaches in the world is also a nesting site for the endangered Caretta Turtles. A wonderful way to enjoy Patara Beach is on horseback among the sand dunes and by the seas edge. Organised trips are available and a must for horse riders.
Finally It would be crazy of us not to mention the main appeal for most in and around the Kalkan area and that is of course the beautiful turquoise waters of the mediterranean sea. Whether enjoying it from the comfort of a sun lounger with no more than a good book for company or in a more active nature pursuing one of the many watersports on offer - it is beautiful.
Kalkan and the surrounding area is truly a place that can be made as active or as relaxing as possible
The town of Kalkan, with its hot summer days and turquoise blue sea epitimises everything that a traditional fishing Village could possibly be with the added extra of a certain ambience and magical charm.
Kalkan itself is a small maze of cobbled streets winding their way down to the port where small fishing boats bob gently side by side with luxury Yachts. Traditional Turkish/Greek houses decked with
bougainvillia cascading from the balconies help create a very picturesque place and the mix of city Turks that have settled in Kalkan amidst the local people create a most unique atmosphere.
By day Kalkan has a most lazy feel. The ever welcoming Kalkan people always have time for a chat be they shop keepers sipping their Çay, taxi and Dolmuº drivers, restaurateurs or even the local school children.
For the holiday maker its all about relaxing by the pool or heading off to one of the many sights and activities the area has to offer, and of course enjoying the beautiful waters of Kalkan bay. Many options for enjoying it abound, from one of the many beach clubs of Kalkan Bay to the town beach. For the more active a whole wealth of watersports are on offer . Blue Marlin watersports in the harbour is a watersports heaven with waterskiing, wake boarding, jet skiing, dinghy sailing, banana and ringo rides and speed boat trips all on offer. However, the bay is best appreciated by boat, either by renting a small boat or chartering a gulet for the day.
By night Kalkan comes into her own and transforms into a hub -bub of relaxing sophistication. A choice of many restaurants with superb dining are a major attraction and great pleasure. Lots of welcoming restaurants are waiting to serve you a whole range of Turkish and International cuisine.
Later in the evening a stroll around the cobbled streets leading down to the harbour to browse in the boutiques or have a nightcap in one of the bars is a delightful way to end the day.

"Pretty, comfortable villa, good location, friendly people and good food."
Cicekli Tas Ev means stone villa with flowers and it certainly lives up to its name, pretty villa and garden and spotless pool cleaned daily by unobtrusive friendly Nevzat.
Charming villa inside with nice homely touches and very comfortable. Nice beach club just down the road with free parasols and sunbeds and steps into the sea for swimming in the clear turquoise water. The ferry is here too, across the bay to the wonderful choice of restaurants.Quaint little streets meander down to the harbour with interesting boutiques and rooftop restaurants.
We hired a car and visited Patara beach for swirly swimming and Kas for the experience, but Kalkan still the top favourite though, with the friendliest and most helpful people I've ever met.
Brian and Linda (the owners) were very helpful too, with detailed information on the villa and instructions for getting there.
All in all, a lovely holiday in a lovely villa.

"Lovely villa, beautiful scenery, good food and friendly people- loved it"
We truly enjoyed our holiday in Kalkan at this beautiful villa. The villa was exactly as shown in the pictures and the owner (Brian) was really helpful in sending us local information and guidelines for utilities at the villa.
We hired a car, which we found of great use, as the villa is on the outskirts of Kalkan, which allowed us to visit some other towns and sights. The locals in Kalkan were all very friendly and there is a parade of restaurants at the harbour. The service in the restaurants and the food was excellent and we enjoyed every meal. There is a number of shops selling excursions such as boat trips, paragliding and horse riding at the beach. They were all very friendly and helpful and transport to and from your excursions is included in the price.
We very much enjoyed our ten days of relaxation and sunshine and would definitely recommend this villa and destination.

"A special home in the perfect location"
This was our second visit to Cicekli Tas Ev - we had throughly enjoyed our first as a couple some years ago, and thought this would be a great location for a holiday with our daughter and friend, both 15 yrs old, which it turned out to be. The house has a lovely feel, light and airy with many nice touches that make it feel special. It is well appointed with a good kitchen, dishwasher and washing machine. The two bathrooms were essential with two teenagers in the house. The patio area is perfect for sunbathing, and lunching under the sunshade, taking in the great views over the bay. The pool is kept spotlessly clean, by Nevzat, who comes early every day, is incredibly helpful and delightfully engages in conversation with the help of an Ipad translator. The pool is great for cooling down or, as we discovered, for synchronised swimming shows.
The locals are very friendly, and the location feels very safe. We felt able to let the girls go to the Beach Club (100 yards from the house) on their own in the afternoon, which gave them a bit of independence.
Kalkan town is some distance away, but can be reached by a 10 minute boat ride across the bay from the beach club. The boat runs frequently, and its a super way to get into town to eat in the evening at one of the many good restaurants. Taxis are easily hailed to get home, and are relatively inexpensive. Alternatively its great to watch the stunning sunsets while barbecuing on the patio.
We hired a car, which I would say is pretty essential to get around during the day- the best supermarkets are in the town, and there are plenty of places to visit in the area, such as Patara Beach and Tashlikent Falls.
We would thoroughly recommend Cicekli Tas Ev for a couple or a family with older children- we were slightly concerned that the girls would find find it a bit quiet, but we found loads of things to do, they absolutely loved it, and are begging us to take them back next year.
