Welcome to Villa Derin
Derin is the name of our lovely baby girl, and now is the name of our dream home. It will be our pleasure to host you in our beautiful villa. A place to unwind, relax, and enjoy all that beautiful Kalkan has to offer, in the best location where you can relax in a quiet surrounding, but when you like reach to town centre less than 15 min by walking, or 5 min by car.

Villa Derin is beautiful, and spacious. It has been built and furnished to a very high standard and stone walls that provide privacy on the terraces and around the private swimming pool epitomise the cool, sophisticated, and luxurious character of this villa.

But it's not just the accommodation that makes Villa Derin so special, it's location within 5 minutes walk of the beach, a place to enjoy spectacular views, and peace and quiet with the atmosphere and amenities of Kalkans old town at your reach.

Villa Derin is in the reach of heart of Kalkan's old town on Turkey's Mediterranean coast in the region of Lycia.
Several grocery shops/restaurants are within 20 metres

FREE WELCOME DRINK (wine, beer, coke, etc.) is included at Bob's Street Cafe/Restaurant (50 metres away) where you will enjoy the splendid view during the sunset over Kalkan bay in your first day to ease all of your travel fatigue.

WELCOME PACK is included for your convenience when you arrive to Villa.

Facilities

The property is air conditioned throughout, and accommodates 8 very comfortably in 4 large bedrooms, of this 3 storey property. The spacious bedrooms all have spectacular views of the bay, harbour, old town, and have good sized en-suite bathrooms with showers.
Downstairs the large open plan living, dining and kitchen areas that leads to a spacious terrace with wonderful view. There is new terrace furniture on the terrace at this level for you to enjoy the view while sipping your drink.

There are four substantial bedrooms at Villa Derin, all luxuriously appointed with queen sized beds in the two double rooms and two single beds in the twins.
All the bedrooms have good sized en-suite bathrooms with shower and ample hanging, drawer and storage space; a dressing table with mirror and bedside tables. The lighting is warm and subtle and we use only the best cotton sheets and soft plump pillows to aid a good night’s sleep.

All the bedrooms are air-conditioned and have spectacular ocean views even from their bathrooms.

The Double rooms are 19 m2 in size (including balconies)

The twin rooms are 17 m2 in size (including balconies)

The en-suite bathrooms are an additional 8 m2 and 5 m2 for 2 different sizes of bedrooms.

The kitchen is well appointed with large fridge freezer, dishwasher, oven, gas hob, microvawe, french coffee press,extractor hood and granite work surfaces. You will also enjoy instant cold and hot water machine which is life saving in summer.

37" LCD TV. Satellite television and DVD player provide entertainment in the lounge area and the selections of board games are great fun to play on an evening in, outside on the dining terrace. You can entertain watching VCDs, DVDs available. You will also find a stereo music set where you can listen your own MP3, I-POD, etc.

The living area of nearly 56 m2 is well appointed, luxuriously furnished with a lycian style fireplace and has a big dining terrace. The perfect place in fact, to relax, and enjoy your holiday. This level has also got a spacious balcony of 20 m2 to enjoy your meals with gorgeous views.

The beautiful natural stone mosaic terraces of around provide plenty of space to sunbathe, swim, dine and entertain.

Linens and towels for inside use are included. Pool and garden is cleaned daily, villa is cleaned bi-weekly and all towels and linen are changed weekly.

There are safety doors available for the stairs for babies, they will be installed upon your request.

Further details outdoors:
An additional roof terrace room is also available. There is free of charge sea shuttles from Kalkan centre to Kisla Region (Mahal Beach, Patara Beach, and Kisla Beach). Taxi is just 2-3 sterling from Kalkan centre. If you want to walk to centre, it is around 15 minutes where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Kalkan bay through the path.
The swimming pool and dining terraces are comfortable and elegant. The spectacular outside lighting for late night swimming, barbequing, and entertaining also makes Villa Derin a fantastic place to spend your evenings when you are not enjoying the old town.
There are luxurious teak sun beds with thick cushions on which to relax, with a place to enjoy a drink while you soak up the Mediterranean sun and enjoy the sea views. The fresh water swimming pool is 7 metres by 4 metres wide and 1.6 m deep, and has wide mosaic Roman steps into the water.
Beautiful outside lighting all around the terraces and in the pool transform the feel of Villa Derin at night making it a place that you will want to invite new friends for drinks or late night swims.
Bouganvillia grows down the stone walls around the villa, and in the garden olive trees, palm and many other plants create a subtropical feel.

The Kalkan / Kisla area

The historic town of Kalkan is an enchanting place and one of the most beautiful locations along Turkey's gorgeous Lycian Coast. With the complete absence of mass tourism, Kalkan remains a charming and unspoiled haven of lush nature, brilliant blue crystal-clear sea, historic architecture, ancient history and warm traditional Turkish hospitality. Once a simple fishing village, today’s Kalkan is quietly sophisticated and postcard pretty with a few good quality low-rise hotels and apartments and a multitude of excellent roof-top restaurants offering all manner of culinary delights together with stylish and atmospheric Blues and Jazz bars. The village shops stay open until around midnight and are well stocked with interesting antiques, crafts, jewellery, clothing and accessories. The narrow streets twist down to the harbour, which is the focus of the village and here you can enjoy a meal whilst watching the world go by or looking at the array of elegant gulets, some of which are available for private hire.

Local market day for the area is held on a Thursday. Try your hand at bartering or go along and have a laugh at the local banter. Some good quality bargains are available, and never accept the opening price.

Villa Derin is located in Kisla, offering peace and privacy in a romantic setting with breathtaking scenery. A short boat ride or a five minute drive (free shuttle) or taxi ride (a few pounds) will take you to Kalkan, a picturesque harbour town with narrow, cobbled streets. Kalkan has its own small pebble beach and in Kisla region there are 3 beaches (Kisla, Mahal, and Club Patara). Also Kaputas is a lovely sandy beach which is 5 minutes drive away and Patara beach which is the second longest in the world neighbouring Lycian ruins, is 15 minutes drive away. Kalkan is set in an area full of history with many ancient sites nearby (Letoon, Xanthos, Kekova Sunken city, etc.). A trip up to the mountains behind Kalkan will take your breath away. “Fantastic trip at Villa Derin” We stayed at Villa Derin in June 2011. We had one of the best vacations ever. The pictures do not do justice how beautiful this villa is. When we arrived, the villa was spotless, and a nice welcome package was awaiting us. The housekeeper Isa is a wonderful, courteous, and a handy man. The villa is very spacious, four large bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and a half bath at the living room level. This villa has spectacular views, especially the view of the sea from the living room level is absolutely stunning. I could have spent my whole day on the balcony just watching the view while sipping my Turkish tea. Derin is at a short distance walking to the sea and the beach club and the water is very clear, we even saw some colorful fishes during snorkeling. There is a big TV set in the living room and a DVD player and a nice selection of movies. The kitchen and dining area is quite large and more than adequate. The only thing I can add is that a microwave could have been handy to reheat our food. The swimming pool is beautiful, well-maintained, and cleaned every morning. There is a ton of places to see in the Kalkan and surrounding areas. Make sure to spend some time on Patara beach. Last but not least, I must mention the owner of Derin. I have had several pleasant email correspondences with him. I actually enjoyed communicating with him. He got back to me promptly and patiently answered my endless questions. Thank you very much. All in all, we had a FANTASTIC vacation at Derin. We definitely recommend this villa to everyone and hope to be back one day.

"Villa Derin is extremely well appointed, infact some friends who had also rented a villa the other side of Kalkan visited and were blown away by quality of Villa Derin. The swimming pool was always immaculately maintained throughout our stay, but what really made Villa Derin for us was the spectacular and stunning views - no matter the time of day. Well having said that, night times were tremendous - sitting on the wonderfully cosy sofas on the balcony watching the sunset and soaking in the twinkling lights of Kalkan centre across the bay. Each room has its own en suite which proved to be invaluable, and the layout of the villa made for a very easy holiday. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our week, and would certainly recommend a visit."
