Kalkan located between Fethiye and Kas on the peninsula called TEKE situated on the South-western Mediterranean, Kalkan is surrounded by high peaks of the Taurus Mountains .The coastline is so narrow that the small town just manages to fit into the folds of the hills without toppling into the sea. However it has never become a tourist site organized and crowded as other Turkish places. The fact that Kalkan has been proclaimed as an urban archaeological site has also contributed to it. CLIMATE season from April until end November .

“Best accommodation we have ever stayed in - fantastic.”
Villa gorgeous, very well equipped. Incredible sea views from the balcony and roof terrace.Lovely grounds and good sized pool. We are a family of 2 adults with 2 teenage sons and were initially concerned they may be bored. Not so. They loved it - mainly the private pool and the wi-fi so they could use i-pads, lap tops to keep in touch with friends at home. Kalkan is lovely. Restaurant choice is incredible, appproximately 100 of them. All we went to were very good quality and reasonably priced. We paid about £55 per evening for 4 main meals with beers and water. Mehmet comes every day to tend the garden and pool. He is very helpful and organised 2 day trips for us. We highly recommend the Satlikent Gorge trip with optional river rafting (our teenage boys loved this) and also a boat trip to a sunken city with swimming from the boat at wonderful coves and great meal on board. Kalkan is very pretty with narrow winding streets and quaint shops (not tacky). Be aware that it is quite a steep, hilly village. We used to walk into town at night then catch a taxi back - these only cost £3.50 so well worth it. We shopped at Yali Supermarket and they then delivered our food FREE of charge back to our villa for us, within 20 minutes - fantastic. All in all one of the best holidays that we have ever had and we highly recommend the villa and Kalkan to everyone.

“Perfect Villa, wonderful location”
Villa was perfect. Every detail has been thought for pleasure of guests. View was great. We enjoyed a lot in the pool. Rooms are big and comfortable. Customer service was great. I would like to note one thing: you can go to town center and beach by walking down 10-15 minutes but coming back by walking is quite challenging due to hill.
“Beautiful villa with fabulous views over the sea. Great location .”
This was our first visit to Turkey and we only chose Kalkan due to a friends recommendation. It was the perfect choice for us and all that you read about an unspoilt village is true but there are plenty of things to do and lots of choices for bars and restaurants. Memhet who manages this property for the owners is a very helpful guy and we took his recommendations to go on two boat trips. They were great and we all had two fabulous days. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we re-booked the villa for the same time next year whilst we were still on holiday.

“A truly memorable holiday at Villa Cukur”
Villa Cukur is a delightful villa with all the home comforts necessary to ensure that one's holiday is nothing less than perfect. As there were just the 2 of us, we had plenty of space but the villa would easily accommodate 6 adults. There are 2 bedrooms on the first floor (each with en-suite, air con. and a balcony which affords beautiful views of the sea). There is a 3rd bedroom (double) on the ground floor which is, as the other bedrooms, furnished to a very good standard. The kitchen is well equipped and the 'lounge' area is very comfortable.
We particularly liked the insect screens which have been fitted to all the doors. This is perfect for when one wants to have a breeze throughout the house - but one doesn't want to invite in the local insects!
The pool is lovely. It is well maintained by Mehmet who, besides being the very friendly 'pool man', has a wide repertoire of friends and relatives who are only too pleased to be able to help with whatever aspect of the holiday one needs assistance with - whether it be a superb boat trip, a journey up the mountain to a fish farm or arranging a taxi with a reliable driver. Plenty of sun loungers and cushions plus a table and chairs complete the pool area where dining al fresco is a delight.
The restaurants are many and varied. Sometimes we chose one of the sophisticated harbour side restaurants (stunning night time views). On other occasions we were happy to try one of the more rustic restaurants with delicious typical Turkish fare.
We are keen to keep fit and both of us enjoy healthy appetites, so we looked upon the daily (sometimes twice daily) walk down town and back up again as a godsend to our waistlines! We took suitable footwear for the purpose of these walks and noticed that most people who have visited Kalkan more than once, do the same.
We thoroughly enjoyed the weekly market - not only shopping for bargains to take home but also for buying the freshest fruit and vegetables to enjoy with our al fresco lunches back at the villa.
We certainly look forward to a return trip in 2013.
We stayed at Villa Cukur for two weeks. Our party consisted of six adults and one 2 year old and the villa accommodated us all very well. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms and bathrooms were to a high standard. The layout of the villa is really nice - two bedrooms on the first floor, each with en-suites and with a nice balcony with fantastic sea views. Another double bedroom on the ground floor which was really handy when the little one needed an afternoon nap. All the doors had mosquito nets, and amazingly no-one got bitten at all. The pool area was lovely. There were enough loungers to go round, and they were good quality wooden ones. The pool temperature was perfect, and was maintained daily by Mehmet who was very helpful. He organised a couple of boat trips which I would highly recommend - Kekova (an absolute must) and Kalkan (includes mud bath). Kalkan is a lovely town - the harbour has lots of lovely restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. Almost all of the restaurants and bars have free wifi. I would recommend either bringing sterling and exchanging it in Kalkan, or using your card to pay for meals and/or using the ATM for cash - the exchange rate is much better here than in the UK (my UK rate was 2.73 and in Kalkan it was 2.95). The walk to the town was fine, but coming back, especially with the baby in the pushchair, it was a bit of a struggle up the hill. Taxis are very cheap though (8TL). The locals are so friendly and we felt very safe wandering around. Even the animals are friendly! There are a lot of dogs and cats roaming the streets. We were followed home on a few occasions! We could have done with a shop a bit closer to the villa - we had to remember to call in to the supermarket on the way home each night as it was too hot to wander down to the shop then back up the hill during the day. This the only 'negative' as everything else was fantastic and I would definitely recommend Villa Cukur. I thought this villa was the best in the area - good layout, nice sized pool and patio, and with a nice garden at the bottom.

“A lovely villa in a great location, with fantastic views over the bay.”
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Cukur, which is a spacious, very well equipped villa in a great location, with fantastic views over the bay. We enjoyed being able to walk into Kalkan and sample the vast array of restaurants - a steep climb home though! The agent was extremely helpful and friendly - everything worked out according to plan and we had a very relaxing, happy holiday. We would definitely recommend this villa.

beautyful villa fabulous veiws equiped with everything you could think off friendly helpful english speaking agent change your money in resort much better rate then england. would most certainly rent villa again
“A great villa and pool with everything a family might need”
Our family of 5 stayed for 2 weeks, with one other joining us for part of the stay. The villa was very well equipped and everything worked just as it should. The rooms are a really good size and the outside pool area is brilliant with everything you need to laze and enjoy the sunshine (with plenty of shade if preferred). The pool was maintained daily by Mehmet, who was always on hand to offer any help you might need (with reasonable English) in a friendly but not pushy way. The villa was spotlessly cleaned for us after after 1 week (after Mehmet had made sure what cleaning times were convenient for us).
The only possible drawback is that if you are lazing at the far end of the pool (where the sunshine hits for most of the day) then you could well find yourself slightly overlooked by those lazing at the pool next door. We were lucky enough that nobody was in residence when we stayed so it made no difference to us at all!
Overall, we found this a fabulous villa for a family holiday in Kalkan.

“Fantastic villa, pool & view.”
The villa is beautiful - amazing views over the bay and a fab pool and outside areas. Inside the villa is well equiped with spacious bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. The only improvement would have been a bigger internal lounge area. The walk up the hill is relatively steep but we found a couple of cut-throughs with steps which definitely helped! The Thursday market was great for spices and all sorts of 'genuine fakes'! Kalkan has some great jewellery and leather goods shops and we highly recommend having a Hamman at the Turkish baths behind Yali supermarket - pure bliss! Finally- go on a boat trip! We had a private boat for the day for only £25 per person including lunch and snacks - 'Kartal' is by far the most beautiful and well equipped boat in the harbour and the food & snacks are delicious :o)
“luxury well equipped villa with views to die for!”
every thing you will need for a great holiday in the beautiful Kalkan area I have never stayed in a better appointed villa, we had a carefree lazy week lounging in the glorious pool area by day and the most stressfull part of the week was trying to decide which restaurant to eat in each evening with a choice (so we are told) of over 200 in the area - the standard of cuisine in all of the ones we tried was excellent!
Villa Cukur is a great villa, It has all the mod cons you need while on holiday. Its about a 10 minute walk in to town ( downhill) but taxis are very cheap if you need one to take you back up to the villa. The pool area is fab with lots of shade if you need it. Views across Kalkan harbour are wonderful. Its the perfect spot for a Vodka and tonic at the end of the day! Kalkan has lots of great restaurants and bars. The harbour area is good for a swim but a sandy beach (Patara) is only 20 mins away. We would recommend this Villa and Kalkan for a holiday.

“Luxury villa overlooking the beautiful bay of Kalkan”
This is a very comfortable and well-equipped villa on the hill above the town of Kalkan with lovely views over the bay. All modern conveniences are provided; the rooms are spacious and light, and the living area very comfortable, with air conditioning throughout. The upstairs balcony and roof both afford great views. Outside there is a very pleasant patio area and pool with built-in barbecue and attractive plants. We were met by the agent who was rather late and who was unable to set up the wireless internet for us, but that was hardly an essential element for a great holiday, and he left us a mobile phone to contact him if we had other needs. The villa is about 10-15 minutes walk down a steep hill into the town of Kalkan, which is bustling and touristy, with plenty of good places to eat (some lovely rooftop restaurants) and interesting shopping although pricey by Turkish standards (you can always haggle hard). For anyone with mobility problems a car would be essential, and the steep flight of stone steps from the car port down to the villa may be a problem for some people. Kalkan is very well placed for exploring the archaeology and other tourist sites of this part of the Mediterranean coast of Turkey; the Lycian sites of Xanthos, Patara and Letoon are all well worth a visit, and a boat trip from Ucagiz around the submerged ruins of Kekova is an absolute must. The Saklikent Gorge is also well worth a visit if you go early in the day before the coaches start to arrive. Car hire is the best way to reach all these spots at your own timetable. If you wish to make a day trip by boat from the harbour at Kalkan they are reasonably priced but book on your first day to avoid disappointment.
