Villa Kristina is a spacious, detached, air-conditioned villa with panoramic views over the Mediterranean, situated in the hills overlooking the unspoilt harbour town of Kalkan with its vibrant restaurants and beach. It is set in beautiful, terraced gardens of bougainvillea, oleander and hibiscus, and offers a peaceful environment, where you can relax and soak up the sun on the terraces, or swim in your own private pool. The villa has an airy, Mediterranean feel, with smart and comfortable decor for easy living, indoors and out. The views from the lounge and master bedroom are stunning, and there are covered terraces to provide shade for alfresco living, whilst you enjoy the views. A car is not essential as, for a small cost, there is a daily, shuttlebus service to Kalkan.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
In addition to its spectacular coastline, Kalkan offers easy access to many wonderful and interesting sites, which are set in stunning natural surroundings, and which guests will often find they have to themselves.
Explore by boat trip the fascinating sunken city of Kekova. Take a drive to Xanthos or Tlos, ancient Lycian cities, where carved inscriptions and marvellous rock tombs occupy dramatic hilltop sites. Or take a dolmus to Patara, a stunning undeveloped turtle beach a few miles from Kalkan, where the amphitheatre and ruins of a Roman city protrude from the sand dunes. You will find an illustrated guide to all of these sites inside Villa Kristina, as well as a selection of maps and books, to help you explore the region.
Another wonderful way of exploring is by boat. Gulet trips will sail you - around the islands you see on waking - for swimming, diving or snorkelling in quiet bays, and also give you a taste of Turkish cuisine on board.
Inland, you can enjoy walking dramatic trails through mountain scenery at Saklikent Gorge or on the famous Lycian Way, and on the way back, stop at a cool trout restaurant in the mountains of Islamlar, for a wonderful and inexpensive meal.
And for total relaxation and wellbeing, try one of the spas or Turkish hammams available in Kalkan - find details of all these in the villa.
Kalkan area
Kalkan has that special quality, curling around the ancient harbour, at the foot of the Taurus Mountains, and overlooking a quite spectacular bay, where Snake and Mouse Islands laze in the sparkling blue sea.
Narrow streets lined with pretty shops and sophisticated restaurants wind down to the harbour, and you can wander through the lovely jewellery and ceramic shops and little carpet bazaars, and bargain for keepsakes late into the night.
Kalkan has its own small shingle beach, as well as several beach clubs with swimming and diving platforms, giving direct access to the clear sea. Or you can take a trip to Kaputas, a 'hidden' beach, east along the road to Kas. An even better beach is the superb golden sand of vast Patara, eight mlies west of Kalkan.
However you choose to spend your days, Villa Kristina and its pools are waiting to cool you off, and no-one can resist being back in Kalkan by the evening, for the variety and quality of restaurants and eating places is quite astonishing for such a compact town. Wherever you go, you will find warm, genuine and lasting Turkish hospitality.
How to get there
During the summer most regional airports have flights to Dalaman and Antalya. Recommended websites include www.XL.com ; www.flythomascook.com ; www.flightline.co.uk. Transfers to Villa Kristina in A/C cars or minibuses at competitive rates are easily arranged - you pay the driver directly (approximate travel times 1hr 30 mins from Dalaman; 3 hrs from Antalya) Our English -speaking Manager arranges a meet-and-greet service at the villa for the key handover, and is available for any assistance you may require during your stay.
