Club Patara is an exclusive development, internationally famous for its architectural style, based on an ancient Lycian city. The development is an oasis of calm and tranquility, free from traffic and noise the private cobbled streets wind their way from the top of the developent to the turquoise sea at the bottom. A sweeping Spanish staircase is the centrepiece of ths stunning development. A free shuttle bus runs throughout the development and a boat service (small fee) can take you over to Kalkan each day and is a lovely way to travel.....
The apartment has access to 4 swimming pools, 3 open air, including one for children. On site you have access to tennis courts, volleyball, snooker and table tennis. There are also 4 restaurants which will include something for all tastes and guests will also have the benefit of a significant 25% discount on all food and drink upon booking.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Kalkan is surrounded by numerous historical and geographical sites, as well as a national park and so many places of interest for you to enjoy your holiday.
A must on any trip would be to Kekova, the sunken city, a nature lovers delight. Here you go on a pre-booked excursion or book your own private gullet for the day as you sail along the beautiful waters of this national park, marvelling at the underwater city. Plenty of swim stops and a vist to Siemma en-route with its ancient Ottoman castle - perfectly relaxing.
Saklikent Gorge is a natural wonder. Here you can go white water rafting or tubing and evan hire a tree house for the evening. Surrounded by lovely river restaurants it is the perfect way to while away a few hours, or it has 15 miles of canyon to explore for serious walkers.
Kas, 25 minutes drive from Kalkan is still a laid back hippie town which holds a large and atmospheric market every Friday. Larger than Kalkan, Kas is a municipal town with a wonderful charm. I would recommed a visit to Kas at some point during your holiday. Its lovely streets and inexpensive restaurants make it a firm favourite.
There are many historical sites to be explores including Tloss, close to Saklikent and still you can see the remainder of an ancient castle and ampetheatre. The ancient sites of Letoon, Pinara, Patara and Xanthos are within an hour of Kalkan and should satisfy the most discerning of history buffs.
Kalkan / Kisla area
Kalkan is a 'very special place'
Renowned for its high quality, reasonably priced restaurants and friendly people, Kalkan can not fail to impress. The heart of Kalkan is its old town, incorporating a maze of quaint cobbled streets which meander their way down to the picturesque harbour. Old Ottoman and Greek houses with ornate wooden balconies and trailing bougainvillea only add to the charm of the lovely village atmosphere.
You will find small boutiques, intimate bars and superb rooftop restaurants all mingle together, which at night time, set the scene for a truly memorable holiday.
Kalkan is surrounded by private 'beach clubs' and has its own pebble beach down by the harbour. The pace is relaxed and the views spectacular from every vista.
Slightly further afield are two beautiful sandy beaches, Patara, 17 miles of pristine white sand surrounded by excavated Lycian treasures. Here you can go horse riding for the day or simply relax whilst swimming in the crystal clear waters.
Kaputus beach is a short journey away by dolmus or boat and is one of the most photographed beaches in Turkey !!
Kalkan holds a weekly market every Thursday, opposite the Nur Hotel and here you can buy almost anything.
One must do things is to take a ride out to the hills above Kalkan to the numerous trout restaurants in the area. Here local farmers have converted their farms into superb and reasonably priced restaurants, serving the freshest of fish and local produce. The air is clean and the views over kalkan and patara beach amazing! Try it for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Although a hire car is not essential on your holiday, if you do wish to explore any of these areas, a hire car would be recommended unless you wish to book an excursion locally.
How to get there
Getting to Kalkan couldn't be easier, and I am happy to help you make the transfer from door to door, run as smoothly as possible, using only fully insured, reliable transfer companies. Alternativley I have favourable rates with a hire car company whom I personally use. Please ask for details.
Dalaman airport is the nearest and takes aprox 1 1/2 hours by car. A private transfer from Dalaman for up to 3 people will cost £45 each way, above 3 people will be £55 each way. you should expect to pay aprox £23 a day for a fully insured basic hire car with air con.
You can alternatively fly into Antalya airport, but this transfer will take 2.5 hours (details can be provided if required)

Further details indoors: Bab-firdaus really is your home from home. Immaculately presented and very spacious the apartment is a 'one-off' on the Club Patara development. It contains, TWO speperate large living rooms.
Living room one is large and airy with a fully furnished balcony with sea views and a full lengh window with a Romeo and Juliet balcony with views over the Spanish Steps and gardens.
There is a second, split level living room, which has an open fireplace, sofa and two chairs, and a dining table which seats up to 6 people. This lovely room with its traditinal stone walls has access throught french doors onto the back covered terrace, and small garden. This is a lovely extension of the living room and is a great place to snooze on the day bed in the afternoon. Traditionally furnished in Ottoman style this shady , private area makes a welcome respite from the mid-day heat.
The kitchen is fully fitted with every modern comfort, and comes with the benefit of two fridges as well as many extras including a juicer, orange squeezer, grill and mini oven. Off the kitchen there is a further bougainvillea laden terrace which again has sea views and is a perfect place to start your day with breakfast, watching the boats come in.
The apartment comes with a very large double bedroom with ample storage/wardrobe space, as well as a dressing table, it has a door leading onto the back terrace and garden. Each of the 2 bedrooms has its own hairdryer and there is a safe for your personal use whilst in the apartment. Each bedroom also has the added bonus of air conditioning.
Bedroom two has twin beds and provides privacy for both guests with its quirky layout.
Towels and bed linen are included, and for a two week stay, a mid week clean plus a change of towels and bed linen will be included. There will also be a small welcome pack included, and if required a larger one can be obtained to include, bread, jam, cheese, biscuits, juice, eggs, milk etc.
Further details outdoors: Club Patara really does have some first class ameneties to suit all guests. All its facilites are avaliable to guests including the use of the 4 pools (one indoor, and one adult only). Private sunbathing platforms are avaliable for guests wishing for some privacy and have access to the turquoise sea below.
The resort runs a free of charge shuttle bus from all areas of the development and runs every 10 minutes. The private boat service runs every 15 minutes from the bottom of the resort and costs 3 lira, and will take you back and forth to/from Kalkan.
Club Patara has a health and beauty salon which provides a variety of treatments including Turkish Bath, Massages, facials etc.
There are 4 restaurants to choose from, an ice cream parlour and a bar. The A La Carte restaurant serves fresh food, seafood a speciality, at lunchtime and in the evenings and has an enviable position overlooking the sea. At night time the huge log fire is lit and provides the ultimate dining experience.
For the more energetic of guests there is a gym, water sports centre, tennis courts, diving, snorkling and windsurfing. Should I add here that there is a resident doctor/nurse on site!!
Please note that some ameneties are not avaliable all year around.
There is a small supermarket at the top of the development which will deliver fresh bread free of charge every day if required and should cater for the majority of your self catering needs.
Further details
A small welcome pack will be provided upon arrival. If however you require something more substantial this can be arranged at a cost of £10.
The comprehensive pack will include, tea, coffee, milk, juice, bread, biscuits, butter, jam, honey, yogurt, eggs, cheese, etc.
I have a representavie in Kalkan who will be on hand to help you with anything you may need or any assistance you may require. They would be avaliable to provide a 'meet and greet' service if required and can help you book boat trips, dinner reservations, hire cars etc. English is spoken and they provide a 24 hour service.
You will find a very comprehensive guest information pack in the apartment with ideas on what to do in the area, useful phone numbers etc. Previous guests have found this pack extremely useful, there are also maps and guide books. A guest book has been provided for you to write about your holiday and gain ideas from other guests.
Conditions
Please note this apartment is not suitable for children under the age of 10, and is strictly no smoking. Due to the nature of this development, it would not be recommended for people with walking difficulties.
Changeover day is Monday to Monday. Please vacate the apartment by 11am on the day of departure, unless otherwise instructed. Earliest arrival would be 4pm if the apartment has been occupied prior to your arrival. You will be advised of timings prior to departure and an information pack containing everything you will need to know will be posted out to you.
All house towels are included, but guests should please be reminded to bring with them their own beach towels.
A deposit of 25% is required when booking (non refundable), with balance payable 8 weeks prior to departure. Prices are for up to 4 people sharing. Discounts may be offered for longer/winter lets.
A £100 breakages deposit is also required prior to departure which will be refundable up to 2 weeks after return if damage has occured. A booking form will be send out via e-mail to confirm a booking. A cancellation policy will apply.
