The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
This part of Turkey's Turquoise Coast is deservedly attracting more and more interest for its fascinating mix of sustained hot weather, lively culture, beautiful landscape and ancient history not to mention the fabulous food. There is never enough time to do all the activities on offer whether it be a trip to Saklikent Gorge to walk waist deep in the icy waters to cool down or enjoy kayaking, a trip to the seemingly endless sandy Patara beach stopping off to see the ancient ruins nearby, a boat trip to the sunken city of Kekova, lazy days at sea with lunch, spending days at the many beach clubs or simply sunbathing and swimming on Kalkan beach. There are plenty of opportunities for watersports too - scuba, sailing, water skiing and sailing are all on offer.
Kalkan / Central Kalkan area
To start enjoying your holiday you need only walk out of your door down the hill and you can start sampling the delights of this former fishing village. Kalkan is famous for its tightly knit centre of winding streets brimming with jewellery and art shops, home accessories stores, stalls selling turkish delight and spices and of course a fantastic choice of places to eat. The restaurants and bars spill out near the harbour front and offer the irresistible opportunity of whiling away hours over lunch watching activity in the harbour. Check out the boat trips on offer. Thursday is market day and attracts many visitors every week. The nearby harbour town of Kas is a short drive away on the dolmus bus, taxi or car and has further shopping on offer - enjoy the ride which hugs the coastline and affords further island and ocean views en route. You could even stop off at one of the beaches along the way, perhaps the famous Kaputas beach.

Kalkan can be reached by flying to Dalaman airport and then taking either a taxi or hire car to the resort which will take approximately 90 mins. There is a good choice of airlines which fly to Dalaman - Easijet,Thomas Cook, First Choice, Excelairways, Monarch and Onur Air. First floor (entrance level) A lovely light airy living/kitchen room with balcony and ocean views, decorative stone arch open to hallway. The kitchen units are painted cream with black granite worktops with inset gas hob, electric oven, cooker hood, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and a full array of cooking equipment. The sofa converts to a double bed.
Bedroom 3 is a generous room with twin beds, (space for cot) balcony and is accessorized in greens. This room has a private balcony.
Shower bathroom serves as cloakroom, bathroom for bedroom 3 and utility room
Second floor Master bedroom with double bed, feature wooden ceiling and fabulous ocean views. Dark wooden furniture complements the natural stone and white painted walls NEW THIS SEASON - GLASS DOOR LEADING DIRECTLY ONTO THE ROOF TERRACE.
Generous landing space just outside the master bedroom has a triple wardrobe and acts as dressing area complete with full length mirror.
Bedroom 2 with twin iron beds, wooden ceiling, cream furniture and door to roof terrace.

Further details outdoors: This penthouse has a spectacular roof terrace where guests will undoubtedly spend many hours enjoying the magnificent panoramic views of Kalkan bay and harbour. To maximise this potential the area has been furnished to a very high standard with outdoor quality sitting room furniture in warm tones complete with coffee table, a 3-metre parasol, NEW THIS SEASON - GLASS TOP DINING TABLE (seats 6), SINK AND FRIDGE UNIT & BBQ. Provision of safe outdoor glasses and serving dishes for guests' enjoyment. This a vantage point which will give pleasure at any time of day but one of the most spectacular moments is when the sun sets across the bay and then slowly the sky darkens and gives way to the moon. The terrace is lit at night by hanging lanterns. During the heat of the day guests can take the short flight of steps down from the apartment to the ground floor where there is a generous swimming pool shared only by 3 other apartments. 6 sun loungers and parasols are provided.

The apartment was simply stunning and we had many many happy moments (and sun downers) on the fabulous roof terrace.
