Villa Amare is a new villa of modern design built on three floors, with a curved front that faces the sea and mountains. It is unusually spacious inside, with five large air conditioned bedrooms each with en-suite bathrooms - very unusual in Turkey. It is entirely tiled in lovely local stone with a soft matt finish in natural shades of cream through to soft browns. The living room is beautifully furnished with two sofas and classic armchairs. The kitchen is open plan with the living area and has marble worktops, a gas hob and electric oven. Also there is a huge fridge with freezer and a dishwasher. There is a washing machine in the sauna room. You even have an orange juicer to squeeze your own fresh orange juice!! From the kitchen window you can watch food being barbecued outside in the lovely stone built BBQ, and the table and chairs are locally made and comfortably seat 10.
Featuring king sized very comfortable beds in three rooms, and two single beds in each of the other two bedrooms. All except one twin room have large balconies, and the top (penthouse) room has a huge roof terrace and an en-suite with a spa bath.
The pool is all one depth so no shallow end. We also provide one pool towel per guest per stay to save you luggage space!

The villa has two terraces, the morning terrace at the back of the villa and the pool terrace at the front. Parking is just beyond the villa on the road. It is a short walk down the hill to the Kisla beach club where you can get a water taxi across the bay to Kalkan.
Due to the balconies, pool and steps care would need to be taken with the elderly and children.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Lovely south Western Turkey boasts this area of ancient Lycia, rich in history and boasting numerous historical sites with amazing rock tombs, amphitheatres and monuments rich in reliefs, all nestling in ground strewn with wild herbs and the occasional goats!
It also has the clear turquoise waters of the Mediterranean sea, wonderful for swimming and snorkeling from the many beach clubs, and Kalkan beach, which has smooth white pebbles rather than sand. Kaputas sandy beach sits in a spectacular ravine and is a short drive away. Patara beach with its amazing historical ruins and 15 kms of sand is approx. half an hour's drive, or jump on a dolmus (bus) from kalkan. It is also a protected nature reserve, famous for its turtles.
You can enjoy a relaxing leisurely day on board one of the many yachts that leave the harbour daily, for a very modest sum you are treated to a cooked lunch and afternoon tea on board, with many opportunites to swim and snorkel in the crystal clear waters. Kalkan has many tour operators offering trips to the local places of interest, of which there are many.
Kalkan / Kisla area
'One of the best views in the world'
Kisla is a beautifully peaceful and exclusive part of Kalkan, just 1 1/2 kl ms from the old town. There is a water taxi from the beach clubs, just a few minutes walk, people say that it is free but you may need to buy a coffee or a beer in exchange - I am being honest here!! Taxis are plentiful and inexpensive, or a car can be arranged for the duration of your stay. There is a tennis court at the gorgeous Patara Prince resort which is a five minute walk. The villa Mahal is also close by, with its exclusive beach club and candlelit outdoor dining area with the most breathtaking views. Just up the hill is a handy small supermarket - very useful for daily provisions. Bob the owner will also deliver to your villa. He also has a very pleasant open air cafe which also has amazing night views of Kalkan, all within walking distance!
Kalkan was once an old Greek fishing village named Kalamaki, and evidence of its history are everywhere, The steep and narrow cobbled streets winding down to the harbour are full of the most lovely restaurants, boutiques and craft shops. Many articles have been written praising its' beauty, and many people return year after year as the old fishing village draws them back. More sophiscated than average, Kalkan appeals to discerning holiday makers who appreciate good food in a unique and special atmosphere. Most of the restaurants have roof terraces, a unique feature of the old town, from which you can enjoy excellent food with lovely harbour views.
The local market day is Thursday, where you can barter for some good quality bargains - never accept the opening price!

A deposit of 20% is required to secure the reservation with the balance of payment due 6 weeks prior to departure. A security deposit of £100.00 is also required with the balance, this will be refunded within 2 weeks of your return provided there are no losses or breakages.
Cancellation charges: Up to 6 weeks prior to departure loss of deposit Between 6 and 2 weeks 50% 2 weeks or less 100% Transfers to and from Dalaman Airport are not included but can be arranged for you. Please enquire at time of booking. Changeover day Thursday, will try to accommodate other start dates if possible.
Flights are not included. Check in time is from 4.00 p.m. Check out time 11.00 a.m. Car hire can be arranged for you and paid for locally, please enquire at time of booking. The villa is cleaned and linen changed weekly.
