Home description

Paradise Apartments are set into the hills about Kalkan with stunning views so great that The Times voted the view from the hills as "One of the top ten romantic views in the world". This apartment comprises of two bedrooms, one with a double bed the other with two twin beds, both with extensive storage facilities - plenty of drawer and hanging space! The living room has a sofa bed and two armchairs . Bedrooms and living room are fully airconditioned. The good sized bathroom has a shower, toilet and basin, again with storage for all toiletries. The kitchen is fully equipped with wall and floor units with granite worksurfaces, washing machine, large fridge freezer and dishwasher. There is a kettle, toaster, iron and ironing board as well as a full selection of crockery, cooking equipment, cutlery and glasses for those drinks on the balcony. The balcony is accessed through patio doors and has a dining table and chairs for alfresco dining. All linen and towels are provided including beach towels for use by the pool. Maid service and linen change is provided during the week.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

This area is renowned for the beautiful coastline, fantastic weather and many things to do and see. At Paradise you can see the dramatic coastline at its best from the vantage point in the hills above the town. Just a short drive away is the beautiful Kaputas beach with its golden sand and clear blue waters. Nearby areas to explore are Kas to the east of Kalkan,30km away. Within short driving distances of Kalkan there are numerous sites of historical interest, Patara and Letoon 15 minutes away, Xantos 25 minutes away and Tilos 35 minutes drive. The spectacular Saklikent Gorge is 30 minutes by car and a visit here can be combined with Xantos or Tilos. Just beyond Kas is the sunken city of Kekova, tours to all these places are available through Paradise.

Kalkan area

Kalkan is a beautiful harbour town with traffic free streets which wind down to the harbour. Traditional houses line the streets with bouganvillea cascading from their wooden balconies. Kalkan is renowned for the quality of the numerous restaurants that can be found on many roof tops in the town as well as along the harbour front. Chefs from all over Turkey are here in the Summer and provide a wide variety of menus to meet all tastes - and pockets! There are several medium sized supermarkets, three banks with ATMs and a wide variety of sophisticated shops offering gold and silver jewellery, leather goods and of course carpets, for which Turkey is famed. There is also a weekly market selling goods to tempt the tourist as well as the wonderful fruit and vegetables which are grown locally and sold at amazingly low prices.In the daytime, there are activities for the more energetic visitor including water sports, river canoeing, paragliding and horse riding on Patara Beach. Daily boat trips go from the harbour oferring a stunning trip along the Turquoise coast.
In the evening, Kalkan is a magical place offering superb opportunities for the sophisticated diner. There are several bars and local laws ensure that the atmosphere is lively and bustling but never rowdy. The Kalkan people are proud of their 'hassle free' reputation and you will find genuinely friendly service everywhere, nothing seems to be too much trouble. Kalkan has a charm which is difficult to define but which is always commented upon - friendly, welcoming people, superb food and unique shops!

How to get there

We can provide transfers to and from Dalaman, the nearest airport to the Paradise resort,at a very competitive cost of £85.00 inclusive of pick up and return, approximately an hour and a half's drive from Kalkan. We also offer a car hire service and will be pleased to quote prices.

Useful websites for flights to Dalaman are Travel Republic, airflights.co.uk, Excel Airways, First Choice and Thomas Cook. Fly Thomas Cook often have great deals on flights starting from £22 plus taxes and are great value.
