The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Kalkan lies on the Turquoise coast of Turkey 1hr 30mins south drive of Fethiye.Kas lies a 40 min drive to the south.The village is encircled by the Taurus mountains which stretch out into Kalkan Bay. There are many ancient historical sites within easy reach of Kalkan ; Xanthos, Tlos, Pinara and Kekova which are well worth a visit.plus the gorge at Saklikent and the beach at Patara.Visit the traditional mountain village of Bezirigan and call in at a trout farm at Islamlar.
There is no shortage of activities in the area which can be booked at local agents, from boat trips from the harbour (a must) scuba diving and water sports including white water rafting to organised walks, horse riding and even paragliding.
Kalkan area
Kalkan is a small Turkish/Greek fishing village with ancient white washed buildings and narrow streets that tumble down to a pretty little harbour. These streets are filled with many shops bars and cafes where you can sit and watch the world go by.There are three banks with ATM machines and a Post office which stays open until midnight. The local market day is Thursday where you can buy everything you require (fruit and veg are a must) and have fun bargaining for t shirts and watches etc. The village comes alive at night with over 100 restaurants (many rooftop) serving fantastic Turkish and International cuisine at very reasonable prices. Helped along by the wonderfully friendly locals, the atmosphere can only be described as “magic”

Fly into Dalaman airport Transfer from the airport takes approx. 1hour 30 mins by private taxi at a cost of £100 return. Cheap flights can be obtained from Aegean Flights if booked well in advance also Flydeals, Skydeals Airflights Transfer from the airport can be arranged for you at a cost of £100

Further details indoors: The villa consists of an entrance hall with cloakroom off, an open plan lounge and kitchen/diner .The lounge has two large settees and two chairs with tv hi fi and dvd player. The dining area has table and chairs with seating for six people. The kitchen being fully equipped with oven and hob, extractor fan, dishwasher and fridge freezer. The lounge opens out onto a covered terrace with table and six chairs ideal for alfresco dining, this terrace covers the front of the villa which has stone arches, and enables you to escape from the midday sun. a few steps lead you down to the large pool area with wooden sunbeds and parasol.
The first floor has two double bedrooms with en suite facilities,each bedroom opens onto a large walk round balcony with stunning views.All windows and doors are fitted with mosquito nets and can be left open to capture the breeze.
The second floor consists of a utility room with washing machine and ironig facilities plus a roof top terrace with has breathing 360 degree views of the mountains and the three bays : Kaputas, Kalkan Kalamar.This room also contains two single beds and could be used as an extra bedroom.
The villa is cleaned twice a week with linen and towel change and the pool is serviced daily.

The holiday was fabulous. We loved Kalakn, the villa was stunning with views to die for. The pool was very welcome as temperatures peaked at 48 degrees. The people are so friendly and charming.
