Villa | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 10
This impressive villa is set in one of Kalkan's most prestigious and stunning locations. With 4 bedrooms, and sleeping up to 10 people, Villa Mavissu is an extremely spacious property, offering guests all the comforts and amenities that you would expect from a luxury villa, whilst only being a short 5 minute stroll from the Old Town.
The villa is actually the result of a sympathetic restoration of an old house. The outside space is fabulous - there is a large pool, with partial views overlooking Kalkan bay, and plenty of space around it for relaxing on the sun-loungers provided. A few steps up from the pool is a lovely marble patio area, with a stone built BBQ, and outside seating for 8.
If you prefer to dine alfresco in the shade, then try the lovely terrace area in front of the property, which has another outside table and chairs, and is covered by a shady canvas pergola.
The property is arranged across 3 floors. On the ground floor, which has a high quality marble floor throughout, is the spacious, light and airy lounge, with comfortable sofas and armchairs seating 10. There is a TV, with satellite TV available & DVD player. Set to the side of the lounge is a raised dining area, with a large square table and comfortable dining chairs (seats 8) The kitchen, situated off the lounge area, is large and well equipped. The utility room, containing a washing machine, drying rack, iron & ironing board, is accessed via the kitchen. There is also a downstairs cloakroom on this floor.
There are 3 bedrooms on the first floor - Firstly, the master bedroom, with king-size bed, vanity unit, fitted wardrobes & chest of drawers. The en-suite bathroom has a jacuzzi bath & shower. The room is dual aspect, with a private balcony overlooking the Bay, with fantastic views.
Bedroom 2 is a good size twin, with an en-suite shower room, and even a chaise longue!. The room is lovely and light, as it is triple aspect, and also benefits from a private balcony, again with lovely views.
Bedroom 3 is situated at the back of the property. It has twin beds, and a fantastic en-suite, with a sunken bath, and separate enclosed shower.
Bedroom 4 is situated on the second floor, has an en-suite shower room and benefits from a private furnished roof terrace with amazing views. There is also a small fridge in the room - perfect for chilling those drinks!

About this location
The Turkish Mediterranean Coast region
Turkey's Mediterranean shore, called the Turquoise Coast, is nearly 1600 km (994 miles) long, scattered with fine-sand beaches and sprinkled abundantly with classical cities turned to picturesque ruins.
It has more and better beaches and resorts than does the Aegean coast, and warmer, saltier water than the Black Sea coast.. The Taurus (Toros) Mountains form a dramatic backdrop along much of the coast, often dropping steeply right into the sea, but in some places rivers have washed down enough sediment over the ages to form beaches backed by fertile alluvial plains good for growing cotton, vegetables, and even tropical fruits like bananas.
Kalkan is an elegant harbour town set in the heart of the old Lycian region. It is relatively cosmopolitan, with wonderful restaurants and great places to stay. The Taurus Mountains provide a stunning backdrop, whilst the views across the bay are remarkable
This beautiful and sophisticated bougainvillea-covered harbour town is set in a breathtaking landscape in the heart of the Turquoise Coast.
Tourism is still relatively new in Kalkan, with the first visitors being yachtsmen who discovered the delights of the harbor and the town in the late 1980's.Strict conservation laws have ensured that the heart of the old village retains an authentic ambience that attracts (according to the Sunday Times) the sort of visitor who might also be enchanted by, say, Tuscany or the Dordogne. The result is a discerning mix of predominantly British guests together with Istanbul Turks attracted by Kalkan's reputation within Turkey.
Winding cobbled streets, colourful shops and excellent harbour-side or roof terrace restaurants and bars are combined with stunning views – whether you are looking up to the dramatic Toros mountains behind the town, or down across the harbour to the broad sweep of the Mediterranean .
