Hi Donna and Mehmet
Just to let you know that we have had a fantastic two weeks at your villa. That much so that we were hoping to book again for the same time next year, but on looking realise that it is already booked. Mind if you have any cancellations please give us a call.
We were greeted by Saim and Engin and made to feel very very welcome, we also devoured the doughnuts in record time!! We found all the accommodation great, Keira loved the pool and was in it every day, her last words when we left on Sunday morning was " I shall miss this house".
Thanks again for all your help before we left with the re-arrangements for the transfer and car hire everything went just fine. Hope all is well with you, give our best wishes and thanks to Saim, Senay and Engin.
Best Wishes from,

Donna and Mehmet,
I can honestly say this was one of the best holidays we've had! The villa is fantastic and very spacious with plenty of room to get out of each others way. The location is great and gives you relief from the heat in Kalkan. We spent a lot of our time in the very big sized pool.
Loads to see from Villa Sahin (Engin your nephew) helped us arrange a boat trip to see the sunken city and we had a chance to dive which was one of the many highlights of the holiday. The beach is a 10 minute drive . At night we would turn all the lights off and look at the stars which where crystal clear and wait for the shooting ones to light up the sky ....... The kids also made great use of the WIFI and music system. This is a great villa in a fantastic location, although a car is essential cabs are also readily available.
Kalkan has great restaurants and supermarkets so all your needs are taken care of! Lastly I cannot thank Saim, Engin and Senay for making our holiday so special and easy. This was such a fantastic holiday we have already booked next year !!!! and I cant wait...........Guys Thank you
Dont wait to book this villa it wont be around to hire for long!

Hi Donna & Mehmet
We had a very nice vacation in Villa Sahin, thank you. The Villa was perfect for a group of 8 people everything was ok and working fine. We really enjoyed the pool during the hot days and the "cold" winds in the evening (at least..."cold" compared to downtown Kalkan!). The people in Uzumlu were very kind and both your brother and the neighbour provided us with fresh fruits from their gardens. This was very kind.!

Hi Donna & Mehmet
Villa Sahin has such a wonderful position in the village of Uzumlu near Kalkan and the views are oustanding. The village has such a relaxing atmosphere and the people very friendly. Mehmet's family are such lovely and kind people. All of the local reataurants serve beautiful food at reasonable prices. The town of Kalkan is reasonably unspoilt and hopefully it may stay this way. A car is essential if you want to travel down to Kalkan or in the area but this did not bother us at all. We will be back!

Hi Mehmet and Donna
We liked it a lot at your house. Weather was perfect, too, not too hot and sun every day. We could even already use the pool. People in the village were very friendly. We liked especially to sit on the roof terrace in the evenings and watch the sun going down behind the mountains and all trhe lights in the plain coming on. In the nights it was very quiet.
Thanks a lot,

Dear Donna & Mehmet,
We were last in Kalkan 17 years ago and there have been some changes! Having said that we still loved the town which has maintained all its Turkish charm with interesting shops and a really fine selection of restaurants. We thought that the Turkish food we had this year was probably the best holiday food we have ever eaten. We loved being in a working village amongst all the farmers and having our own supply of grapes and figs whenever we wanted them. The airport transfers and car hire could not have worked more smoothly. What made our holiday so special was of course your lovely villa. We were extremely comfortable and it was quite perfect to return to its peace and tranquility after a trip out in the day. We never tired of the stunning views from the upper terrace and the sunsets over the mountains were very special.
We love your part of Turkey. Its all very quiet on the roads and the countryside is so green which is surprising considering all that non-stop sunshine you have. We also love Kalkan and hope that it will not be 17 years before we visit again!
With kindest regards,
Jeremy Manu Alex and William.

Dear Donna and Mehmet,
Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful villa! Stunning views, wonderful countryside and warm welcoming people! This was our first time in Turkey and they were experiencing a heatwave, thank goodness for the air conditioning and the fabulous pool! The villa was equipped with everything we needed, and Engin, Saim and Senay were so lovely to us all...one of the high lights of the holiday was our invitation to experience a Turkish wedding party, and also the delightful food that Senay brought to the villa! The local villagers were extremely friendly, always happy to see us, and to try and "chat". A lovely, lovely place to stay, we will definitely be back!!!Thanks again

Hi Donna and Mehmet,
Our 2 weeks at Villa Sahin was as good as it gets! The house itself was everything the info had said - spacious, with efficient air con to keep it beautifully cool (essential at 36-38 degrees outside), amazing views from the terrace and a luxuriously warm and spotlessly clean pool. Engin and Saim were unfailingly helpful if we had any queries, and the local villagers were so welcoming, bringing us grapes, plums and some tiny warm sugar-coated doughnuts (lokma?). The local shop sold all the basics - we found both provisions for the house and eating out very cheap compared to crazy English prices, especially in the village cafes. We really appreciated being able to use our laptop, as we could check out local attractions, reviews etc whilst there (and our teenagers could keep Facebook-ing…). Uzumlu is an ideal base for exploring the area - the hire car that you arranged was at the house on our arrival and again, its air con was much appreciated.
Saklikent Gorge is a must (we managed to reach the waterfall at 2 ½ km - it's a long and quite tricky scramble for which you'll need a guide), and Patara Beach is beautiful - the western end with the lagoon in particular. The house actually sits right on the Lycian Way, and we walked some way following a Roman aquaduct for several kilometres from nearby Cavdir, although July & August are too hot for proper trekking. The archaeology is stunning of course, with the added bonus of watery wildlife at The Letoon, where water snakes and terrapins glint in the water and the chorus of frogs is deafening in the evening. The day-long boat trip from Kekova to see the sunken city, with swim stops around the islands in the clearest blue sea we've ever seen, was gorgeous.
All in all a fabulous holiday - we'll be back!

I'd definitely recommend Villa Sahin to everyone, who's looking for an escape from dynamic city life.

Villa Sahin is a lovely place, set in a lovely position. We were really glad not to be too near a big town however the convenience of Kalkan was just right. The Turkish people were really welcoming and we felt relaxed and at ease at all times. Your advice to pick up some provisions en-route from the airport was good - the local shops are very good and seem to be open at all times. We found that the exchange rates in the shops (no purchase necessary) were better than at the post office. One big bonus was the Internet link, my daughter was able to sort out her accommodation at university and we were able to keep in contact with friends.
Your family there really did make us feel relaxed and at home - please pass on our big thanks to them. We will certainly recommend Villa Sahin to our friends and though we have never been back to the same place twice for any holiday, we would like to come back to Villa Sahin again.
We must also comment on how good your website is - it is always comforting to know what to expect on arrival.

Hi Mehmet and Donna,
Villa Sahin fully met our expectations and we had a wonderfully relaxing 4 weeks in lovely surroundings. The villa was well equipped and comfortable and Saim, Senay and their son Engin looked after us brilliantly even inviting us to a family wedding which was a great experience. They were always on hand if needed but unobtrusive. Uzumlu is a lovely traditional village, well placed for visits to Kalkan, Kas, Patara and the various archaeological sites but off the tourist track.
The icing on the cake for me was being able to go horse riding on Patara beach which was a fabulous experience.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable time and hope to return.
With kind regards

May 2009
Dear Donna and Mehmet,
The villa was better even than the excellent photographs on your website. It was extremely well equipped, comfortable and airy and had the most stunning views to the west across the valley towards Patara Beach and Xanthos. It provided us with a really private and peaceful base within the delightfully rural area of Uzumlu. We found the local people extremely welcoming. It's a pity our Turkish didn't extend much beyond "please" and "thank you". Despite the rural setting it was very conveniently placed for the restaurants and attractions of Kalkan. Although we found the restaurants very good, particularly one at a trout farm in the mountains, we spent several of our evenings at the villa, enjoying the sunsets and eating from the barbecue by the pool.
Never having been to Turkey before we are really sold on it now. There's so much to do and see within easy reach of the villa that we couldn't take it all in in a week. We hope to return very soon. Please thank your brother, his wife and your nephew for being so helpful and attentive during our stay.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable time and hope to return.
Kind Regards
Jan and Keith Mackenney

Hi Donna & Mehmet,

What an amazing location. The views from the balcony are just stunning. The website photos do not do the Villa any justice. We enjoyed being away from everything in the rural setting of the fruit growing village yet only a fifteen minute drive to Kalkan with all the shops and excellent restaurants.
Thanks very much to your brother and his son who looked after us very well making sure that everything was perfect for our holiday.
We managed a couple of BBQs with some excellent fish from the fishmongers at Kalkan.
The villa was well situated for seeing the gorge at Salikent and Patara with its amazing beach and 400BC ruins.
We will most certainly be back for a laid back relaxing holiday.

Dear Donna & Mehmet,
We were very pleased with the villa which we found as beautiful as your pictures and, with all the facilities as you describe, made for a comfortable and relaxing base.I particularly enjoyede the views and the solitude. The pool was lovely, somehow managing to stay cool despite the hot sun. Siam and his family were very helpful and kept the villa, garden and pool so tidy and clean.
This part of Turkey is our favourite and your villa was nicely situated to visiting the local towns and beaches. We always find the local people so friendly and happy to see us visitors enjoying their country .
I have often said that there are too many places in this world to go and see than to revisit the same place but in your villa's case I would happily make an exception

Dear Donna and Mehmet,
Thank you very much for allowing us the pleasure to stay in your lovely villa.
We have had several previous villa holidays via high street travel agents but none of them can match the excellent service that we have received from yourselves and your family.
The location of Villa Sahin is superb for a totally relaxed holiday. It is maintained to a very high standard and was very clean.
Patara beach was lovely. The local shop was very useful for our daily bread and ice creams for the evenings. We also enjoyed the chance to buy fruit and vegetables from the local farmer that stopped nearby the villa on Thursday.
We felt very well looked after by your family and we knew that if we had any problems they were just a phone call away, which was very reassuring. We had a truly amazing Turkish experience and it is highly recommended. We will most certainly be back for a laid back relaxing holiday.
Many thanks
