About the home

Moonlight Villa is a traditional looking stone detached villa. With full air conditioning, its own private swimming pool and garden which are not overlooked. The terrace and pool benefit from sun throughout the day and provide the perfect setting for poolside fun, relaxation and alfresco dining. Free Internet and Wi-Fi now available & MP3/IPod Docking station. New HD TV and microwave & Pool Towels provided. Situated in the Ortaalan area of Kalkan.
Furnished and equipped inside and out to a high comfort level to meet all needs. The villa layout gives a real sense of space with a master bedroom on the upper floor with its own large balconywith good views, and two further bedrooms on the ground floor, one looking over the pool with its own terrace, the other very suitable for children. The roof terrace gives fantastic panoramic views of the sea and mountains and is a great place to have drinks under the stars and with our new furniture you can do this in comfort.

The village 10 minutes on foot will provide an excellent range of restaurants & shops. Try a boat trip from the harbour for £15 -20 including lunch, taking you to lots of lovley bays for swimming and views of the mountains.The bus station is a 10 minute walk, using the local bus cooperative will give easy access to all the attractions in the area.The villa has wounderful views of the surrounding Taurus Mountains and the sea.

This villa is furnished to provide good comfort all round. The villa ground floor covers 88m2 & 1st floor covers 35 m2, totaling 450m2. Full Air-conditioning to all rooms. All doors and windows have insect screens. Antique Marble stone throughout.

Welcome pack and pool towels provided. Full weekly clean, bed linen and towels provided and changed weekly. Pool and terrace are cleaned daily. Assistance from our English Agent. 2nd ground Floor Bedroom- 2 single beds, double wardrobe, bedside table & lamps, wall lights, dressing table with light over. This bedroom is at the back of the villa making it cool when very hot. Full Air-conditioning. Shower room just outside door.

As the villa is on an elevated site it may not be suitable for very small children.

Outdoors:The Villa is set within its own private garden.The entrance from the road is all on one level and is well lit at night.
A large terrace on one level leads from the living room with a shaded dining area under a tiled roof. Private 25sqm freshwater pool, not overlooked,170cm deep, 137 shallow end, with pool towels provided, sun-beds and parasols. Pool and terrace cleaned daily. A terrace leads from the poolside bedroom overlooking an olive grove and views of the bay and mountains, with table and chairs. The Master bedroom has a large balcony with good shade and wonderful views; this also has a table and 4 chairs.The staircase leads to a roof terrace which has new furniture to relax on.

The villa and gardens has an elevated position, which, may not be suitable for small children.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

Kalkan is surrounded by the Taurus mountains and offers a wealth of places to visit. The following can be reached for days out, Xanthos, site of the Lycian Captial city good examples of historical remains. Islamar mountain village offering locally farmed trout. Village of Kale, site of a St John's Crusader castle and wonderful views. Tlos- Amphitheatre and mountains views. Dalyan Delta, sulphur mud baths. Saklikent Gorge- deepest gorge in Turkey. Overnight trip to Efes - well preserved Greek-Roman city. Patara beach about 20 minutes by bus or taxi.
Try a boat trip from the harbour for £18 /20 including lunch which will often include fish caught on your trip, friut and tea and cake.The boat will take you to lots of lovley bays for swimming and views of the mountains, it's one of the best days out from Kalkan.You can scuba dive with several boats available from the harbour, other watersports like white water rafting and canoeing can also be done. Any of the above trips and activities can be arranged through our manager with the average cost being £12 to £30 per adult, with reductions for children. The transport for these trips are small mini buses with a local guide.

The Kalkan / Ortaalan area

Kalkan village consists of narrow cobbled streets which all lead to a very picturesque harbour. It is well known for it's number of very good restaurants either on the roof terraces or by the harbour, with very varid menus. A good selection of shops selling hand made jewellery, textiles, clothing. Around the bay are a number of 'beach' clubs offering water sports and good food. There is good taxi and bus services in the village. Thursday there is a very good market in Kalkan selling a wide variety of goods, including herbs and spices, honey, cheese, leather goods etc. For general food shopping there are tfive well stocked medium sized supermarkets within 10 minutes by foot, they offer a free delivery service to the villa. There are also shops selling a good range of fish, meat and fruit and vegetables.

Kalkan is easy to reach by flying into Dalaman from most UK airports. Then a transfer by taxi, mini bus or hire car taking 1.5 hours.The roads are very good and eay to drive and well signed posted. We can arrange transfers or car hire to suit your party size by our manager in Kalkan. 2012 prices as listed below.

“Moonlight Villa great location for relaxation.” Beautifull Villa, wonderful location, excellent staff. We would highly recomend this villa to anybody for a relaxing break. Kalkan has everything that you will need so there is no need to travel if you just want to recharge your batteries.Many thanks to Irfan and to Karen for thier help whilst we where in Turkey and also to Nicola for hiring her lovely villa to us. We are looking at the possibility of returning next year for longer break.

“The perfect place to unwind” My wife and I stayed in Moonlight Villa for a week at the end of June 2011. The Villa is beautiful; spacious, nicely decorated, comfortably furnished and spotlessly clean. Everything you could possibly need is provided as well as a nice 'welcome pack' of goodies in the fridge. The outside area is very private and provides a covered seating area, a large patio area with sun beds and a fantastic swimming pool which we used every day. The pool and outside areas were cleaned every day and always felt fresh and welcoming. The villa is located up a quite steep hill which we walked down and back up once, but then we cheated and used the hire car for the rest of the trips into town. Most of the people in surrounding villas used taxis which are abundant and cheap. Kalkan itself is a slice of paradise; a very laid back atmosphere. The town has an amazing selection of restaurants to choose from and we had some superb food and very friendly service. A visit to the Thursday market is a must to soak up the atmosphere and practice your bartering skills. There are many companies providing a range of activities such as visits to historic sites, boat trips and water sports. We did not try any of these activities this time but we plan to return next year and be more active. Overall we had a very relaxing and peaceful holiday in this wonderful villa and we did not want to leave at the end of the week!

“Fantastic Villa” This was a brilliant holiday the service from the start was first class we went with our family which included a baby of 1 1/2 years so there were plenty of questions all dealt with well. The villa was everything we needed which included a huge collection of books and DVD's mostly adults (we did take peppa pig etc which was a good idea) The pool was Fab and cleaned twice a day by a great pool man. The villa is situated halfway up a long steep walk (very hot in Aug) but there is a lovely bar half way up called 'Our Home' which does wonderful authentic Turkish food and they will deliver if required, but the whole family are very hospitable and welcoming, we used to walk it down to the town about 15 mins and taxi back. But you also get the advantage of a wonderful peaceful view, I couldn't recommend the villa enough as we had a great stay. Now I have a grandchild I now know the importance of having some children's DVD's so I will get some in.
