This comfortable apartment is set within the landscaped gardens of the Patara Prince Resort, overlooking the bay of Kalkan. A stunning location, fabulous architecture and great facilities combine to make this resort a truly magical place.

There are three outdoor swimming pools to relax around, gardens to stroll through on your way to the restaurant or bar, and a gym, diving, and watersports on site for the more energetic. Relax with a turkish massage or treatment in the beauty rooms.

With loads of space both inside and outside the property, you will have a choice of a relaxing evening on the sofa with a glass of wine or al fresco dining with your family and friends.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

Kalkan has a typical Mediterranean climate with hot dry summers and warm wet winters. The sea water rarely drops below 16°C (60.8°F), so swimming is possible from April right through to October. The hottest days of the summer are cooled down by the "Meltem", a breeze which blows every afternoon.

This area is ideal for exploring, why not take a day trip on a traditional gullet to explore the bays, beaches and sea caves along the coast; visit Kapitas beach, reached by two hundred-step descent down a cliff face; Patara, home to ancient ruins, is twenty-five minutes away by car and has a 18 kilometre long sandy beach and has recently been featured on BBC1 Holiday and the Evening Standard's list of 10 Fantastic Summer Beaches.

The Sunken city of Kekova is certainly worth a visit or venturing further afield you can hike through the Saklikent Gorge, explore the ruins of Lycian cities such as Myra, and Xanthos or visit small turkish villages in the mountains.

Kalkan / Patara Prince Resort area

Kalkan is a small peaceful mediterranean resort and fishing town on the beautiful Turquoise Coast of Turkey. Sitting at the foot of the Taurus mountains, the town is a maze of narrow streets, whitewashed villas and small local shops, bars and restaurants.

Kalkan is renowned for it's excellent rooftop restaurants and bars which have wonderful views over the bay. For the shop-aholics amongst you there are numerous boutiques and local craft shops to browse in. Kalkan also has an excellent Dolmus service running betwen Fethiye Patara and Kas.

Kalkan is five minutes by car or ten minutes by boat from the Patara Prince Resort.

How to get there

Fly to Dalaman with Monarch, British Airways, Excel Airways, BMI, Thompsonfly or Turkish Airlines. Kalkan is 1.75 hours by car or 15 minutes by helicopter from Dalaman airport. Patara Prince Resort can arrange airport transfers, please telephone 0090 242 844 39 20.

Taxis and car hire is available from the airport, car hire is optional as most facilities and attractions are on site, nearby or available as excursions.

Facilities at this four star resort are exceptional, there are three outdoor pools to relax around, all with fabulous views.

Sunbathing platforms are tucked away in the natural stone of the private shoreline giving direct access to the cool clear water of the meditteranean. Kalkan old town with it's winding lanes, restaurants and shops is ten minutes by traditional shuttle boat or 5 minutes by taxi.

Staying in the Palm, you are entitled to 25% off any food and drinks purchased at the resorts restaurants or bars. Take your pick between the Grand Swimming Pool next to the Terrace restaurant; the Round Swimming Pool with bar facing the historic Patara gate for over 16's only or the Terrace Pool at the top of the resort near the club house which serves drinks and snacks.

There is a children pool attached to the Grand and Terrace pools. Within the health club you will find a gym, heated indoor pool, sauna, beauty therapy, hair care and Turkish massage.

Watersports. are available at the resort's private seafront and include windsurfing, water-skiing, snorkelling and scuba-diving. Private diving lessons are available. A speed boat is on hand for bay cruises and sunset charters, also a classical water shuttle runs everyday in the daytime to and from Kalkan. If you have any energy left there are tennis courts and volleyball!

The Kids Club for the over 4's and baby sitting available on request gives you time to relax on your own.

We can highly reccommend the restaurants both at the resort and in Kalkan. At Patara try the Patara A la Carte Restaurant, Apollonia Beach & Buffet Restaurant, or the Agora Restaurant for meditteranean and Italian cuisine.
Jasmine Patisserie provides freshly baked croissants, pies, cakes and ice cream.

Conditions

We think this is a great holiday for couples, families or groups of friends. This resort has lots of steps and although a free minibus runs around the resort we think it is unsuitable for very young children or people with limited mobility.

A 25% non refundable deposit secures your booking with the balance payable six weeks before departure.

We had a lovely holiday, everything was pretty much perfect. Thank you for giving us such a lovely apartment for our holiday! The whole resort was beautiful but we were so glad to be situated on the top of the hill as we had the non-salt water pool and made walking to and from town much easier.
