The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

Steeped in history this dramatic region provides something for all tastes. Kalkan enjoys some of the best weather in Turkey with over 300 days of sunshine per year. Historical areas are abundant in the region that also feautures the ancient ruins of Patara with its 18km long sandy beach. Guide books listing all the highlights of the region are provided. The Lycian Way walking trail crosses through the area. A guide book for the walk is also provided.

Kalkan

Kalkan is seen as a more upmarket option than other Turkish resort towns. It still retains its charm, and due to the steep topography of the area, has not suffered mass expansion. The many restaurants in town offer wonderful cuisine that can be followed by a walk through the cobbled streets for some shopping. Nearby attractions include Patara Beach, Kaputas Beach and many historical sites.

"Home Away From Home"

On first impressions on entering Patara Prince Resort are 5 Star. Arriving at 2 in the morning was not a problem at all, with 24hr security at the gate they were able to call up the Reception and get us booked in with No Fuss at all.
Aluna is very spacious with everything you need and more, having a 1 year old was a breeze with a fold out cot close to hand.
With marble floors through out, Air Conditioning and Over head fans you won't feel uncomfortable with the wonderfully hot weather Turkey has to offer.
The Kitchen has everything to whip up a storm if you choose and having a gas weber barbeque on the large balcony makes feeding the hungry effortless.
The Resort is Amazing with Stunning Views over the Kalkan Bay, a shuttle can run you up and down to the 2 pools, resturants, spa, cafes and seaside if you choose not to walk the stairs.
Kalkan is an amazing little city, a short boat taxi ride, car drive or taxi trip away, We walked it one day which was nice but not to be attempted at midday.
A real buzz later in the evenings with hundreds of resturants, bars and cafes around the marina and countless shops to pick up the bargains.
Patara beach, Kaputas beach, Kas, Islamlar and Suklikent gorge are just a few of the many things to see and do on your stay.
The Turkish people are very friendly and happy to help in any way and I would highly recommend a trip here.

"A lovely holiday!"

Me and my partner have just come back from staying in the aluna apartment. We had a lovely holiday. The owner of the apartment has been very helpful the whole way through as well as Hamza the hotel manager. There was everything you needed at the apartment with a gorgeous resort with stunning views. I do have to say though this is the second time we have stayed at the patara resort and we felt the service had gone slightly down hill. Whether this was because we went at the beginning of the season. The restaurant staff seemed very slow also we didn't have our room card to get discount they were fine with it at the beginning allowing us to sign receipts to give to the reception at the end of the holiday like stated In the welcome pack. But during the third time we went there this was no longer allowed and we had to pay cash there and then at the full price. We got the card after we spoke to hamza he sorted us out with one but the next day we went there the manager who told us we could only get discount if we had the card, allowed a family next to us sign a reciept for discount without a card. Also I would just say one thing about he apartment during half way through our stay hamza came with cleaners but all they did was gave us new towels and bedding. The apartment did not have a full clean through out the whole two weeks which was a shame as mainly the toilets and floors needed a bit of a clean. Apart from that everything else was perfect and I would recommend this apartment definately! You will have a lovely holiday here!

"A relaxing retreat at the end of the season."

The Aluna apartment on the Prince Patara resort proved to be a tranquil, relaxing place to enjoy beautiful September weather. The apartment is well equipped for self catering and there is a small supermarket on site. A BBQ situated on the balcony is great for evening meals. The apartment is set nearer the top of the resort in a shady position which is welcome after a day by the pool or on the beach. For those not wishing to walk down to the pools and sunbathing platforms on the resort a minibus runs up and down constantly throughout the day. A water taxi travels between the resort and Kalkan town throughout the day.
Aluna is tastefully furnished and comfortable for a couple. A little gem!

"Turkish Delight"

A great vacation from beginning to end. The Patara Prince Resort is a brilliant resort with all your needs catered for, from sport to restaurants to well- being and everything in between. If you are so inclined you needn't set foot out of the resort. The Aluna apartment itself is fantastic . Its well equipped, very comfortable and tastefully decorated. For a family of 3 with a whole lot of holiday luggage there was more than enough space . The Mediterranean is but a 3 minute stroll away from the apartment with lovely viewing platforms on which you can spend the whole day relaxing .The idyllic town of Kalcan is a short ferry trip away and well worth a visit or two with plenty of shops, restaurants and watering holes to keep you happy all day.
2 weeks flew by and we departed with great reluctance. Next year is already booked.
Thanks for a great vacation and looking forward to many more.
