Apartment | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
Beyhan apartments used to be rented by Tapestry Holidays which we rented for 5 years until the owner decided he wanted to sell. We fell in love with the place and people so much that we deceided to buy the apartment. Our apartment is at first floor level via stairs, within a small complex of 5 other apartments. Our apartment is situated on the Kalamar Road in Kalkan, set into lush tropical garden of palms/banana trees and bougainvillea plants. We have a manager (who speaks perfect english) to greet you on your arrival and is always on hand to make your stay both memorable and enjoyable. - There is a small well stocked supermarket right opposite the apartment where the manageress speaks good english. A larger supermarket is just a stroll away to the old town of Kalkan. The apartment has easy access to all amenities, including the local market for bargin hunters and many excellent restaurants for eating out.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Kalkan is a quite romantic village - it has a vast choice of excellent restaurants - cafes - bars and shops. There is a very warm traditional Turkish hospitality just waiting for you.
Kalkan overlooks the mediterranean and is enclosed by a backdrop of mountains. The town is made up of narrow cobbled streets leading down to the harbour. The town has a small clinic -doctors - dentist and pharmacist who all speak good english. There are five banks with cashpoints - post office and internet cafe. Plenty of fruit and veg shops, supermarkets and butchers all fully stocked.
Kalkan has various beach clubs - the local beach in Kalkan has small pebbles. Patara beach is a 20minute journey by car or dolmus (bus) which has golden sand for approximately 18 kilometers. Kaputas beach with its 188 steps and wonderful turquoise sea is only 4 kilometers away. There are beach clubs that can be reached by shuttle from the harbour. The local boat owners are only to willing to take you out for 'A lazy day at sea' which includes stopping for you to dive off the boat and swim in the clear blue sea, they then prepare for you a lovely lunch before returning to harbour, it really is a lazy day. There are many companies in Kalkan that will arrange excursions for you - scuba diving - canoeing - jeep safari - trips to the sunken city at Kekova (by boat) - Saklikent Gorge - Kas which is a working town you travel along a beautiful coastal road 29k. Also you can go white water rafting, paragliding and donkey and horse treks. On Thursday mornings there is a market held in Kalkan where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables and haggle with the locals. These are just a few ideas.

"Perfect place to relax and unwind"
We enjoy this apartment that much that our recent visit there in September was our 6th visit. Each time improvements have been made to the apartment, and it is very clear that the owners Mr. & Mrs. Beeching take pride to ensure that their guests have all they require and more.
The owners are lovely people to deal with and can assist with booking transfers to and from the airport and have a wealth of knowledge about the local area. There is a small very well stocked supermarket directly over the road from the apartment, that saves you having to bring shopping up from the town.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to anyone, who is looking to unwind either wondering around the quaint fishing town, or just simply chilling by the spotless pool area or the apartments private balconey.

"A beautiful apartment in Amazing Kalkan"
For the past two years I have stayed in this lovely apartment in the beautiful Kalkan and I have visited Kalkan 8 times over the past 9 years. The apartment has two double bedrooms and an open plan kitchen and living area, there is plenty of room for four adults. For me the best thing about the apartment is the balcony. It is large with sun-loungers, a table and chairs and a BBQ but best of all it is a real suntrap! Sitting out on the balcony with a cold Efes before venturing into town for dinner is my favourite time of the day on holiday, also known as beer o'clock. It is about a ten minute walk from the apartment into town. It is quite a pleasant walk as you pass some nice bars and restaurants and it is often tempting to stop in for a happy hour cocktail. Walking back from the town is a little more difficult as it is uphill but it is not unpleasant at all. We often chose to catch a taxi back due to the late hour, this costs around 7 Turkish Lira which is about £2.50. The apartment has a shared pool with the other apartments, however each time we used the pool there was nobody else around so it did feel like a private pool. There is a supermarket opposite the apartment called Can Can which sells a variety of food and drink and is very reasonable. After holidaying in Greece in May I was absolutely astounded by how much you can still get for your money in Turkey. Prices have risen slightly over the years (as you would expect) but your money does go a long way. I won't write a full review on Kalkan as I could just go on and on about how amazing it is but if you chose to stay in this beautiful apartment then take a look in the guest book for all my restaurant and bar recommendations!
