Villa Kaya
About the home
Villa Kaya consists of two fully furnished, luxury villas with 5 bedrooms in total, sharing the same garden and pool in the world famous Patara Prince Resort perched on the edge of the sea. Many Turks have proclaimed it the most beautiful resort on the Turkish coast. It was created by one of Turkey's foremost architects and the larger of our two villas was built by Turhan Kaso for his own use.
A Turkish friend of ours commented that our villas are not houses, but "poetry" ! Enormous shady verandas, private pool set in the garden overlooking the bay, a watch tower with unrivalled panoramic views over Kalkan's magical bay. The charming, smaller villa with 2 double bedrooms overlooks the garden and pool. The two villas together are ideal for families with grandparents, friends etc. .
All guests have full use of The Patara Prince Resort facilities. Built in the style of a Lycian village with 24 hour security , PPR consists of privately owned villas, a charming hotel, three restaurants, three swimming pools, water sports and boating, spa, tennis courts and wonderful, secluded bathing platforms on the rocks at the foot of the complex. A 25% discount is available to all guests on food and drink.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

The Lycian coast of Turkey is aptly named the Turquoise coast with exquisite, clear blue sea water. Below the Patara Prince Resort , the sea is fed by springs, resulting in the cleanest and purest sea water in the Mediterranean. Although the Kalkan coast is dramatic and rocky, Patara beach, voted by The Sunday Times as one of the most beautiful and unspoilt beaches in the Mediterranean, has 18 km of white sand and is approx a 15 mins drive. Kapatus is a sandy beach approx 10 mins drive away. Kalkan's climate is considered to be the best in Turkey with 300 days sunshine every year and very low humidity.
Kalkan is on the route of the Lycian Way, which offers walkers stunning scenery and many archaelogical sites on its route. There are many ancient sites within easy reach of Kalkan including Xanthos, Pinara, Tlos and Patara. Further afield are the well known sites of Olympus, Kekova, Myra and Ephesus.
The Kalkan / Patara Prince Resort area
The enchanting historic town of Kalkan was once a small fishing village. Today it still retains its charm in spite of increasing sophistication due to its popularity with international visitors. The winding, cobbled streets teem with life at night to the accompanyment of jazz and blues music wafting from bars and restaurants.
Kalkan boasts more than sixty fine restaurants , many set at roof top level, offering excellent Turkish and European cuisine at reasonable prices. There are several good quality food shops including supermarkets, boutiques selling everything from bikinis to pashminas, and all essential daily needs are well catered for.
A range of outdoor activities are available from Kalkan including diving, snorkelling, canoeing, water skiing, sailing, para gliding and windsurfing. Regular boat trips from Kalkan harbour explore the area and beautiful coastline, including the well known gulet cruises.
Spend an unforgettable day on a boat or gulet, cruising the crystal clear waters, soaking up endless hours of blissful sunshine whilst dining on a superb lunch cooked specially for your party by your skipper/chef.
Patara Prince Resort is nestled on a 60 acre secluded sea front estate along the Kalkan bay. It has beautiful landscaped gardens and wonderful facilities which include 4 pools, windsurfing, water skiing, snorkelling, scuba diving, Turkish bath, spa, indoor pool and gym, tennis courts, volley ball, snooker/pool table, table tennis, sun beds, and platforms right on the edge of the water for sunbathing and relaxing. In addition, there are bars, including a piano bar in peak season, and three very good restaurants. Essential supplies can be bought at a small supermarket in the resort. A regular shuttle boat between the resort and Kalkan harbour offers a more glamorous way to do your shopping and there is a shuttle minibus running through the resort , as cars are offloaded and then parked outside the main gates of the Patara. Some of the facilities are not available outside the peak tourist season which runs from May to October.

Guestbook for Villa Kaya
I want to start by thanking you for the opportunity to let us use your home. As soon as we stepped in we felt we made a great decision, given that when you book online you cannot be totally sure that you will get what you see, as one tends to add bits of his imagination to finish the picture! We immediately felt it was home away from home, a very special and unusual villa. What I liked the most was the surprisingly admirable architectural touches at every corner. Every time you think you have seen all the house, you find more to explore. We loved the tower, and I personally do not like 90 degree angle shapes, so all the arches and curves and circular effects were highly appreciated. The resort offers excellent services and amenities and my daughter got the chance to take her first diving course, which she enjoyed tremendously.
Rima Richani (August 2011)
We loved your villa , it was so relaxing to absorb the fabulous
view and watch the sunset over Kalkan bay. The villa is very
comfortable, light and beautifully designed. it was our 12 year old
daughter's "best ever" holiday!
Your restaurant recommendations were on the button and it was also
great to be able to eat within the Patara resort where everyone was
extremely friendly.
We can't wait to return! Many thanks.
