About the home

A delightful villa set in a quiet and peaceful location set next to a mature olive grove with private swimming pool. With spectacular views of both Kalkan and Kalamar bays. The town and harbour are within easy walking distance.

Facilities

Further details indoors:
Sleeps 6/ 8 guests on three floors. Air conditioning throughout. Balconies to first floor bedrooms and terraces to second floor bedrooms, with fly screens throughout.

The ground floor consists of:

A lounge, with double bed settee and armchairs, air conditioning and French windows leading onto the large terrace and the swimming pool.

Kitchen / Dining area. The kitchen is well equipped with a large fridge/freezer, cooker and hob, washing machine and dishwasher.

The dining area has a dining table and chairs and French windows leading onto the terrace.

Toilet with WC and wash hand basin.

Spiral staircase leads to:

First floor

Double bedroom with air – conditioning, double bed, wardrobe, bedside cabinets, dressing table and full length mirror with balconies with stunning views.

Twin room – twin beds and fitted as above

Bathroom – shower, wc and wash hand basin.

Two single bedrooms with single beds, bedside cabinet,wardrobe and air conditioning each has its own terrace with stunning views over Kalkan bay.

Shower room – shower, wash hand basin, wc.

NB these rooms are built into the eves.

Private fresh water swimming pool with large sun terrace and sun loungers.

Covered veranda with seating area to front of the villa, shaded outside dining area, stone barbecue and peaceful, secluded garden to the rear with a bench and hammock and private parking

Further details

Linen and towels are changed twice weekly, regular pool cleaning and garden maintenance. Please note you will need to bring your own beach towels.

Transfers from Dalaman can be arranged by car for £55 each way and by mini bus for £65 each way.

We are happy to accept payment via PayPal, which will allow you to pay credit card, should you so wish.

We also ask for £250 security deposit, payable with the final balance and returned within 2 weeks of your return.

Conditions

The spiral staircase and hill side location would make the villa unsuitable for very small children and the infirm

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

Set in a small sophisticated resort on the Turkish Mediterranean Riviera in ancient times known as the Lycian region.

The town nestles at the foot of the Taurus Mountains and was once a small simple fishing village. Whilst the town has maintained much of its original charm it is now one of the most up and coming resorts of this region.

The Kalkan / Central Kalkan area

Kalkan consists of narrow cobbled streets which all lead to the picturesque harbour.

It has a wonderful array of restaurants where you can sample some of the finest cuisine in the world, many with roof top terraces offering a wonderful view of the harbour and the starlight night sky. Alternatively you can watch the gullets and fishing boats from one of the many harbour side restaurants. There are a few bars available in both areas for a relaxing drink at any time of the day or night.

Market day is Thursday selling a wide variety of goods including locally grown produce,particularly good value are the herbs and spices. In the town there is a wide selection of shops selling beautiful Turkish carpets, jewellery, antiques and wonderful clothing made from the finest Turkish cotton which open well into the late hours. There are also several
supermarkets some offering delivery service to your villa.

There is a small pebbled beach by the harbour and there are also beach clubs available which offer relaxing sunbathing and swimming in the warm turquoise ocean. Some of them offer water-sports such as snorkelling, scuba-diving, wind-surfing, diving, sailing, fishing and other fun activities. For the more energetic you can also take part in mountain climbing, trekking, parascending, caving and walking, all available locally.

On those days when you wish to venture away from the resort why not visit one of the abundant ancient sites from the Lycian era. Close by are Patara, Xanthos, Letoon and Tlos, or further afield are the marvellous sights of Kekova, Myra, Olympos and even Ephesus. One of our favourites for all the family is to cool down at the amazing Saklikent Gorge.

Kalkan, once visited will never be forgotten and is often re-visited, we certainly fell in love with Kalkan and it’s wonderful people and we hope you will too.

“Peace & Tranquility” Beautiful Villa, so relaxing and peaceful, the villa is beautiful and has everything you need on the inside, outside is fantastic, such a pretty setting, especially at dusk when all the outside of the villa could be lit up, spotless pool, much needed to cool off under the hot kalkan sunshine, we wanted to stay forever.
