Bay View Villa
from £72 /night help
Villa | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 6
Set in the prestigious gated development of Club Patara, Bay View Villa is a luxury villa with sea and Kalkan views that are to die for. The villa has 2 double bedrooms (1 en-suite) and 1 twin bedroom plus a family shower room. As with all of Club Patara properties, the downstairs open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area has stone walls and floors providing a cool interior during the hot summer months. While the upstairs bedrooms have wonderful solid wood floors and ceilings, plus low level mosquito covered windows to take in those stunning sea views.
Modern and traditional all rolled into one, the villa provides plenty of space for 6 people. The lounge is split level from the kitchen and dining area, with two sets of French windows opening out onto the full width covered terrace. The views from here stretch right across bay to Kalkan and is stunning by day, but breathtaking by night with all the twinkling lights of the restaurants. As outdoor living is the norm in Kaklan, the terrace has comfortable sofas to relax on, a table and chairs for al-fresco dining, as well as a built-in BBQ. But don't worry, the kitchen has a dishwasher, as well as microwave, hob, oven toaster and washing machine (housed upstairs in the bathroom). A further table & chairs are inside, plus the lounge has satelite TV, DVD and seating for 6 all with sea views.
This is a lovely villa in mature surroundings which is very peaceful and quiet. But as a self-contained development, there are also three communal pools, as well as the beach club for residents only which has bathing platforms nestled into the rocks and direct access into the warm Blue Flag Award sea. There is a shop, themed restaurants, hotel and spa facilities and a couple of bars, all of which overlook the waters edge. All Bay View Villa guests will also be entitled to use our 25% discount card which can be used in the restaurants and bars.
Traffic is not allowed on the development, but there is a shuttle service to take you from the top to the bottom of the development at regular intervals every day. There is also a water taxi (small charge) to take you across the bay to the centre of Kalkan, or you can walk it which takes about 10-15 minutes.
Free Wi-fi is available around the restaurant and bar areas, and is also freely available in most of the restaurants in the centre of Kalkan.

The Turkish Mediterranean Coast region
Situated along the Mediterranean Coast, also known as the Turquoise or Lycian Coast, Kalkan is frequently referred to as the Turkish Riviera. Surrounded by the Tauras Mountains, Kalkan combines the stunning sea views with an equally stunning mountains as a rugged backdrop. 30 mins East is the small town of Kas, or 1 hour West is the larger town of Fethiye. The whole coastline is dramatic due to the mountains and sea.
There are plenty of day trips to local sights. The Kalkan/Akbel area is steeped in history and the Lycian Way (walking route) passing straight through Akbel. Patara Beach (17kms of sandy beach) is a bus ride away and also has some Roman ruins which you can visit. Not far from Patara is the Roman ruins of Xanthos, and most people enjoy a visit to the nearby Saklikent Gorge which is the 3rd largest in Europe.
You can walk the gorge as far as the waterfall, or for the less adventurous, why not just sit and watch the world go by with a cool beer dangling your feet in the water from the restaurants that overhang the waters edge. Akbel has a local market on a Sunday which is within walking distance of the villa, and Kalkan has one on a Thursday.
