About the home

This villa, in which the owners were involved with the Architect throughout the construction, was built in 2007. They have lovingly created a beautiful and characterful "home from home" in Kalkan - a place they have been visiting for 23 years. Set in a peaceful location just a few minutes walk to the seafront with swimming platforms, restaurant and water taxi. The villa has a glorious roof terrace offering spectacular views across Kalkan bay.

Swimming pool with wooden sunbeds(7) and parasols(2), table and chairs(8), and barbecue. Poolside service/utility room with sink, fridge, washing machine, iron, ironing board, airers and chilled water dispenser unit. Poolside shower.
Separate w.c. with basin. Poolside day-room with sofa. Bedroom (wheelchair acess) with twin beds and en suite with bath and separate walk-in shower (wet room). Safe available for personal belongings.
Ground Floor
Well equipped kitchen with cooker, hob, extractor, smoke alarm, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, cafetiere, toaster, kettle, mixer, cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and glasswear, leading to spacious open-
plan living room with dining area and balcony, sofas, dining-table and chairs, T.V./DVD and WiFi.
First Floor
Bedroom with kingsize bed, balcony and sea view, en-suite with shower. Master Bedroom with super
kingsize bed, children's campbed and cot, balcony and sea view, en suite with shower.
Roof Terrace
Under eaves twin-bedded room with en suite bath and shower leading on to Terrace with small service area, fridge, roof storage, table and chairs, and four floor cushions. A cantilevered parasol and 2 loungers. Fabulous views!


Cleaning/Linen/Maid Service
Towels and linen included (including 9 beach towels). The villa is cleaned once a week and linen changed
weekly. Other arrangements can be made at extra cost. The pool and terrace is cleaned daily and the
garden watered daily.

Please note that smoking is not allowed in the bedrooms.
A mobile "pay as you go" telephone. Internet access.
Fully air-conditioned. There is also underfloor central heating.

Preferred changeover day is Friday, but we can be flexible where bookings allow.

Booking Notes.
Please check the availablility calendar on this website. To secure a booking, a non-refundable 30% deposit is required with the balance due no later than 6 weeks prior to departure. We reserve the right to readvertise your dates following non-receipt of the final payment. A loss, breakage and damage deposit of £400.00 is required, or 15% of the booking fee, at the time of paying the balance (whichever is the higher). This will be returned subject to no losses, breakages or damage, within 2 weeks of return. References may be required. Please note, we do not have insurance to cover guests possessions, personal injury or loss. Proof of travel insurance required.

The Terrace & Pool

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

Kalkan is a beautiful harbour resort surrounded by breathtaking scenery at the foot of the Taurus Mountains. The village retains an authentic Turkish feel with winding streets, colourful shops and an abundance of restaurants and bars. Many of the latter have roof terraces with stunning views of the mountains and bay where one can while away the hours.
On Thurday Kalkan has a market where you can purchase anything from fresh produce, spices, clothes and kitchenware.
Islamlar is a mountain village 20 minutes drive from Kalkan where you can enjoy the famous trout restaurants whilst taking in breathtaking views of Kalkan and beyond.
Kas, 25 minutes drive east of Kalkan, is a beautiful natural harbour town with winding streets and many shops and a market. Here you can go swimming with dolphins too.
Berzigan is a fascinating village sitting on the bed of an old lake above Kalkan where traditional farming is of much interest to visitors.
Other interesting local sights such as Lettoon, Xanthos, Tlos, Patara and the Saklikent Gorge are easily accessible for a days outing, and are well worth the effort.
Nearby Kaputas, 10 minutes by car or bus, is a dramatic white beach bordering a seductive turquoise sea (not for the fainthearted though as it has 200 steps!). The renowned Patara beach (20 km. long) is a 20 minute drive - home of protected turtles and noteable Roman remains. Kalkan has its own award-winning local beach.

Locality of our villa
Within approximately 5-10 minutes walk is the Kalkan Beach Club with small shingle beach, sun-beds, cafe, watersports, and water taxi to Kalkan harbour. Other local beaches include Villa Mahal, an acclaimed hotel with restaurant and beach club for both residents and non-residents. Local beaches include Kaputas, Kisla Beach, Mahal, Club Patara Prince, Palm Beach, Kalkan Harbour and Kalamar bay. Kisla, Mahal & Palm Beach offer a boat service across to Kalkan. Bob's cafe/minimarket is 2 minutes away and will deliver take-aways, water etc. The centre of Kalkan takes 5 minutes by car/taxi, or a walk of about half an hour. Patara Prince has a spa with a free car collect and return service. Palm Beach and Kalamar Beach both offer a free car collect and return service.

Watersports. All the beach clubs offer waterskiing, scuba diving and other water sports. Hang gliding is also now available locally.

The nearest airport is Dalaman which is about one and a half hours to two hours drive and is open all year round. We can recommend a travel agent in the U.K. who specializes in flights to Turkey, and also assist in arranging transfers and car hire.

“Villa is fantastic, views are breathtaking and Kalkan is wonderful.” An amazing villa, within a short walk of the Kalkan Beach Club. The water taxi across to Kalkan is great, especially in the early evening on your way out to Kalkan Town. The organised trip that we went on, through Abi Travel to Saklikent Gorge, is a must. It costs £16 per person but is cheaper for children and includes journey to and from the Gorge in an open back Land Rover, a lovely lunch, sitting on the banks of the river and entrance into the Gorge. The optional 30 TL (£10 or so) which you can pay to go down the river on "Ringos" is well worth it. It was such a laugh and the 7 of us had a great time. This is also a Mud Bath to go in at the end of the river trip, which was good fun and the kids loved it. All in all, the Villa is like "Home from Home" and you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Kalkan town, is beautiful and some of the Restaurants are amazing (Doy Doys, Olive Garden and both Mussaka restaurants). You do get hassled a little by people asking you to go into their restaurants, but a "No Thanks" is always accepted and they will always say "Thank you, Have a good evening" so is not too much of a problem, Nothing to do with the Villa, but would be nice to be able to walk easily from Kisla in the evening into Kalkan. Part of the walkway out of Kalkan is completed, but the rest of the walk is un-developed and not advisable for children/older people. We did walk along the main road one the first night, but wouldn't recommend that !! Hope you enjoy Kisla Han and Kalkan as much as we did. The Wallis and jenkins Families.

“Villa Kisla Han Kalkan an Oasis” I would recommend this villa as a holiday, it is is in Kas just outside Kalkan it is not possible to walk to Kalkan in the very hot weather; but there are taxis and a boat ferry. It is quiet and peaceful not really suitable for clubbing teenagers but it is suitable for couples, extended family and friends. The views from the villa are lovely and both Kas and Kalkan are not overy commercialised. Please be aware that Kalkan is very steep and it is a strenuous walk through the town in very hot weather. There are some lovely restaurants to choose from. I would recommmend hiring a car to explore the area especially the mountains, and Demre to visit the Church of St Nicholas. If you do hire a car you must have your driving licence with you in the vehicle at all times! We had a great time and the owners are very helpful and friendly. If you go independently I would recomment ABI travel for the airport transfers. Response: Dear TripAdvisor, We are very pleased with this review. However, there is a very important factual error in the first line which should be corrected as it will confuse future guests as to our location. She states "It is is in Kas just outside Kalkan..." Kas is the next town 40 minutes away. It should read "It is in Kisla a suburb just outside Kalkan ...". To maintain your reputation we trust you will contact our guest to approve the change.
