This is a brand new villa in which the owners were involved with the Architect and Project Manager throughout the design and build. They have lovingly created a beautiful and characterful "home from home" in Kalkan - a place they have been visiting for 20 years. There is a glorious roof terrace as well.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Kalkan is a beautiful harbour resort surrounded by breathtaking scenery at the foot of the Taurus Mountains. The village retains an authentic Turkish feel with winding streets, colourful shops and an abundance of restaurants and bars. Many of the latter have roof terraces with stunning views of the mountains and bay where one can while away the hours. On Thurday Kalkan has a market where you can purchase anything from fresh produce, spices, clothes and kitchenware. Islamlar is a mountain village 20 minutes drive from Kalkan where you can enjoy the famous trout restaurants whilst taking in breathtaking views of Kalkan and beyond. Kas, 25 minutes drive east of Kalkan, is a beautiful natural harbour town with winding cobbled streets and many shops and a market. Here you can go swimming with dolphins too. Berzigan is a fascinating village sitting on the bed of an old lake above Kalkan where traditional farming is of much interest to visitors. Other interesting local sights such as Lettoon, Xanthos, Tlos, Patara and the Saklikent Gorge are easily accessible for a days outing, and are well worth the effort. Nearby Kaputas, 10 minutes by car or bus, is a dramatic white beach bordering a seductive turquoise sea (not for the fainthearted though as it has 200 steps!). This is also a favourite stop for boat trips. The renowned Patara beach (20 km. long) is a 20 minute drive - home of protected turtles and noteable Roman remains. Kalkan has its own award-winning local beach.
Kalkan area
Locality of our villa Within approximately 5-10 minutes walk is the Villa Mahal, an acclaimed hotel with restaurant and beach club for both residents and non-residents. Yoga classes are available here. There is also a boat service from here to Kalkan harbour. Local beaches include Kaputas, Kalkan harbour and Kalamar bay. Bob's cafe/minimarket is 2 minutes away and will deliver take-aways, water etc. The centre of Kalkan takes 5 minutes by car/taxi, or a walk of about half an hour.
Watersports. Three beach clubs offer waterskiing, scuba diving and other water sports.
How to get there
The nearest airport is Dalaman which is about one and a half hours drive and is open all year round. We can recommend a travel agent in the U.K. who specializes in flights to Turkey, and also assists in arranging transfers and car hire.

Cleaning/Linen/Maid Service Towels and linen included (including 8 beach towels). The villa is cleaned once a week and linen changed weekly. Other arrangements can be made at extra cost. The pool and terrace is cleaned daily and the garden watered daily.
Notes on Accommodation Please note that smoking is not allowed in the bedrooms. A mobile "pay as you go" telephone. Fully air-conditioned.

Conditions
Changeover Day. Preferred changeover day is Friday, but we can be flexible where bookings allow.
Booking Notes. Please check the availablility calendar on this website. To secure a booking, a non-refundable 30% deposit is required with the balance due no later than 6 weeks prior to departure. We reserve the right to readvertise your dates following non-receipt of the final payment. A loss and breakage deposit of £200.00 is required, or 15% of the booking fee, at the time of paying the balance (whichever is the higher). This will be returned subject to no breakages, damage or losses, within 2 weeks of return. References may be required. Please note, we do not have insurance to cover guests possessions, personal injury or loss. Proof of travel insurance required.
