If you have a weakness for sea view, you will feel at the right place in Villa Melek.
Melek means «angel» in Turkish. Yes, indeed, it's a little paradise on earth, with a 2 minutes walk to the Mediterranean Sea, Kalamar Beach Club and Kalamar Bay.
Inside Villa Melek there are 3 separate, self contained apartments. You can rent the whole villa for your self and your family members/friends (sleeps up to 12 persons). In total you will then have 6 bedrooms (3 twin bedrooms and 3 master bedrooms), 3 bathrooms and 3 kitchen.
Each apartment is spacious and with it's own charm. All the furnitures are handmade and of great quality.
By renting the whole Villa Melek you and your friends can have the privacy of your own choice, and you have both the garden , the pool and the roof terrace as great meeting points. This should give 12 persons a fantastic opportunity to have a happy holiday together.

Street parking is OK, but the villa doesn't have a closed parking space.
Villa Melek has a private, outdoor pool. The pool is shared between guests in the 3 apartments. If you rent the whole villa, the pool will of course not be shared with anyone else.

For guests with restricted mobility, please note that the ground floor apartment has no stairs inside and will be the most suitable. The two duplex apartments has internal stair. The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Turkey's Turquoise Coast has become one of the nation's four most popular tourist destinations, combining a beach vacation with available visits to ancient archaeological sites.
You can visit Patara, Kas, Fethiye, Oludeniz, Kekova, Gombe, Kaputas Beach, Saklikent, Islamlar ( famous with trout farms ) and lots of historical Lycia cities as Patara, Letoon, Tlos so on.
The Kalkan / Kalamar Bay area
Kalkan is an old fishing village with a breathtaking location that has managed to keep it's charm. No skyscrapers or mass tourism, just friendly and laid back people. Between the Taurus mountains and the Mediterranean Sea lies one of the most beautiful places in Turkey waiting for the independent travellers.
British newspaper The Independent listed Kalkan among the best tourist destinations for 2007. The paper recommended Kalkan especially for those seeking a romantic vacation and who do not want to travel far from their home country in Europe.
The narrow, cobbled streets of Old Kalkan house many little shops, galleries and boutiques, their walls covered with bright coloured bougainvillia. All streets lead down to the pretty harbour. Traditional wooden sail boats leave harbour each day transporting holidaymakers to the surrounding islands and secluded bays.
During the day Kalkan is a sleepy village, as many people relax by their pools. By night Kalkan comes alive with plenty of quality restaurants, jazz bars and a beautiful marina.
In the center of Kalkan there is one small pebble beach, and there are also many "beach clubs" which are open to non-members.
Kalamar Beach Club is for example just 2 minutes away from Villa Melek. Here you will find sunbeds, parasols, free internet access and the Kalkan Dive Centre, should you want to try scuba diving. The Beach Club has a restaurant overlooking the bay which is also open in the evening.
Kalamar Bay is approximately a 25 minutes walk from Kalkan, although there are a number of bars/cafe & restaurants on the way.

Dalaman airport is the main airport for Kalkan, and is served by several major airlines with many direct flies to the UK and European airports.
Dalaman is approx 1½ hour (120km) from Kalkan by car. Alternatively, you have Antalya Airport, which is about 3 hours away.

We are sitting here in the dark with rain pouring down around us and have just been browsing through the very many photos we took whilst at Villa Melek. Its hard to remember just how hot it was during our stay...and how very relaxing our time was. I can genuinely say we had one of our best holidays. Kalkan has something for everyone and suited us perfectly. We often holiday together, my family of 4, plus my dad who is 75 and our friends family of 6, so we do have to think about all age groups. This was the first time we had a split into apartments as we usually get 1 large villa. However, this worked very well, in fact probably better as we could all get some space when we wanted it...we put the children downstairs! (eldest 20yrs, youngest 10) We had more kitchen space and fridges especially were useful. The villa was very comfortable and characterful. The view was fantastic, and the pool was plenty big enough. We spent a lot of time at Ali's cafe. The food was good and great value, he was friendly, and the children often went there alone. Really took the pressure off us cooking and shopping, so more relaxing. Hills of Kalkan were a bit of a shock! But, we had a car, and taxis were easy to get. We just wanted to say thank you for letting us share your lovely villa and introducing us to the pleasures of Kalkan. We all have such lovely memories from our stay at Villa Melek. |
