About the home

If you’re looking for the kind of privacy and spacious accommodation usually only afforded by a villa but without a long hike into town, the penthouse Melissa Apartment is ideal.

One of the largest on the complex, the Melissa Apartment sleeps six people comfortably - Its spacious accommodation is spread over the entire top two floors of the block and has been furnished to an exceptional standard throughout. The apartment has two balconies on the first floor, one leading from the large living area and the other from the double bedroom. There is also a second twin room on the first floor. Up the stairs to the penthouse room, you have access to the magnificent private roof terrace, where you can sit and admire the stunning views of Kalkan bay and the islands beyond.

There are two pools, plus a children's pool. Comfortable sun loungers and umbrellas have been provided for the exclusive use of our guests. The friendly Emir staff live on site and will be there to greet you on arrival and help you in any way they can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Facilities

The fully air-condioned accommodation is bright and airy and every attention to detail and quality has been given. Almost all the furniture has been custom built for the apartment. Tastefully decorated, the walls have many framed photos of the local area and wild flowers taken by the owner. The kitchen is luxuriously appointed with everthing that you could possibly need for dining inside or al fresco. Cool bags and ice-packs are provided to to allow you to enjoy cold drinks beside the pool, and when you want to escape the heat, there's a TV, DVD player, iPod speaker dock, plus board games for entertainment. Complimentary wi-fi access is available from the apartment.

The penthouse suite has a king size bed and ensuite, while the two bedrooms on the first floor have twin beds and a shared shower room. All bedrooms have large fitted wardrobes with plenty of hanging space, with matching dressing table and bedside tables.

The owners have provided premium quality towels and bed linen which are changed twice weekly. Bins are emptied and the bathrooms cleaned every day.

Emir apartments has two full sized swimming pools incorporating a children's pool. The guests have the use of pool-side sunbeds and umbrellas and the gardens are beautifully maintained with various specimen plants and shrubs.
Melissa apartment has two balconies and a wrap around roof terrace off the master suite all enjoying the magnificent views. There is a brick built BBQ on the rood terrace will seating for six, plus an additional comfy seating area. For those wishing to enjoy private sunbathing the terrace also includes an umbrella and two extra sunbeds

Further details

There is a meet and greet service at the Emir apartments with English speaking staff on site 24 hours a day. All guests receive a welcome pack to help getting things underway. The nearest supermarket is just 100 yards away.

Conditions

The apartment is strictly non smoking inside.
To secure the apartment a holding deposit of £200 is required. The balance due eight weeks prior to departure.
A £200 breakages and damage deposit is required and is returned within 7 working days subject to the confirmation of our on site representative that everything is in order.
The property is not suitable for those with restricted mobility.

Living Room

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

This beautiful Mediterranean area is steeped in history with many Lycian ancient sites of interest including Xanthos, Letoon, Pinara, Tlos and Patara within easy reach. The harbour towns of Kas (25 minutes) and Fethyie (1 hour) are well worth a trip. All are accessible, many by organised trips, bus or local car hire which is competitive and easy.

The beaches particularly Patara (25 minutes) and Kaputas (10 minutes) are a must visit and Patatara has recently been described by the British press as amongst the most beautiful in the world.

The Kalkan / Central Kalkan area

Kalkan, once a small fishing village, has lost none of its charm and character with white washed buildings lining the cobbled streets down to the harbour and local beach. The town is renowned for the fine and varied selection of restaurants and eateries with menus to suite every taste and pocket. The most popular are the roof terrace and harbourside restaurants with views and ambience worth the price of a meal alone.

Those who enjoy shopping will not be dissapointed. There is an excellent range of shops offering everything from clothing and jewellery to 'designer' goods and local arts and crafts.

Whilst there is a local beach only ten minutes from the apartment and of course there is Patatra and Kaputas nearby, Kalkan has a host of beach clubs all accessible by free taxi or boat taxi. All offer the choice of total relaxation or for the more energetic, there is water skiing, jet skis or the opportunity of being dragged around behind a boat on something inflatable.

“Our little piece of heaven” I spent another fabulous week here (my third time) with a couple of friends in June. Having used this apartment twice before should speak for itself - it is in a most beautiful spot with great views down to the bay of Kalkan. The apartment is so clean and tidy and well looked after by the Caretaker and her son. All facilities are there for one's use, plenty of dishes so we didnt have to use the dishwasher too often! Its a little walk down to town and a harder climb back when you'rs 65-70 years old (or young) but well worth the walk, as its so quiet at night, we just love sitting on the balcony and looking at the view with a drink and a few nibbles. Kalkan has plenty of great restaurants at all prices, or one can do a Bar-B-Q on the roof terrace which is great! Who could not enjoy such a lovely apartment in a beautiful spot.

Lovely doesn't begin to describe our holiday - it was wonderful! We think the Emir is the perfect location - handy for the village yet quiet and dark in the evening, with uninterrupted views and not too far up the hill. And
you definitely have the best accommodation with Melissa: it was beautiful and so well-appointed with every convenience and comfort. We really appreciated being high up in the penthouse, and having the benefit of every breeze on hot days.
