Villa | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 8
Brand new for 2014, Villa Honeysuckle is in an enviable position as it is so central to the centre of Kalkan, yet also at the end of a cul-de-sac position, so quiet and undisturbed. You are literally a 2 minute walk from the fabulous sophisticated Kalkan centre with all the restaurants and shops. With a good 7mtr x 3.5mtr private swimming pool surrounded by plenty of sunbathing terraces, a table tennis table, and choice of al-fresco dining areas, the villa easily accommodates a maximum of 8 people. Inside, the ground floor has an open plan luxury lounge, modern spacious kitchen and dining area plus ground floor WC. The first floor has a twin room and separate shower room plus a further en-suite room. The second floor has a double en-suite sea view bedroom, then there is a further floor housing the master en-suite double bedroom with bags of space and large terrace sea view balcony, where you can see the Olt Town and also the harbour. Few properties have such a spectacular view of the harbour, but that is all down to the location.
We've tried to incorporate all the things to make your holiday relaxing and comfortable, such as 2 safes, mosquito screens on the windows, full air conditioning throughout and plenty of comfy areas outside hence the bean bags, sofa and chairs, and sunbeds. For families with small children or babies, we also have a cot and high chair. To keep the kids entertained (young and old), there is an xbox, plus a selection of books if you run out.

About this location
The Turkish Mediterranean Coast region
Kalkan and the surrounding region is steeped in history and culture. There are some fantastic ruins to visit dating back to Roman Times, and the nearby Patara area with its famous 17kms of white sandy beach where Turtles come to lay their eggs, housed once the capital city for the region. For walkers, The Lycian Way ruins along the outskirts of Kalkan, and cuts through some areas of outstanding natural beauty, as well as some of the areas unspoilt local villages. Just a stones throw from Kalkan is Islamlar, famous for its Trout Farm Restaurants, where inexpensive, locally produced simple food is served amongst the forest and fauna. The backdrop to Kalkan and the surrounding area is denoted by the Taurus Mountains which in the winter are topped by snow.
Things to do and see include: Saklikent Gorge which is the 3rd largest gorge in Europe, the Sunken City of Kekova, the ruins of Pinara, Xanthos and Tlos, and slightly further afield but well a visit, the stunning Pamukkale, with its natural mineral and calcium rocks and hot springs.
Kalkan is repeatedly making the new in various newspapers and magazines, as it is a sophisticated, upmarket resort, famous for its abundance of high quality restaurants, some of which easily rival top London ones. The centre of Kalkan is small, with narrow streets and although is quite steep (Kalkan is built into the mountains), brings visitors back, year after year. Most people have been to Kalkan more than once. There is a small pebble beach, plus various beach clubs around the bay which have sunbeds, parasols and direct access into the warm blue sea of the Mediterranean.
Turks by nature are very friendly, and the locals in Kalkan are no exception. They make you feel very welcome, and time is of no importance. They are happy to sit and have a 'cay' (tea) with you over a game of backgammon, or just a chat.
Kalkan tends to attracts couple and families during the holidays, but is definitely not a 'lively' resort catering for teenagers or large same sex groups.
