About the home

Ideal for a family holiday or getaway for two or three couples, Villa Zarif can sleep up to 8 people; is set in pretty, well-maintained gardens and features a private pool terrace with sunbeds, table and chairs for alfresco dining and barbeque.

For your enjoyment and to keep all family members entertained, there is a 32inch TV with satellite package, ipod docking station and a PS2 with selection of games in the Den.

For dedicated sunbathers there are sunbeds on the large roof terrace which is also furnished with comfortable seating. For your convenience we provide a welcome basket with food and drink necessities on arrival, a mobile phone with helpful phone numbers programmed in.

Facilities

Further details indoors:
The two double bedrooms on the first floor benefit from air conditioning, ensuite shower rooms and multiple balconies giving pool or mountain views.

The twin room (ground floor) can also be made up as a kingsized double and benefits from air conditioning and an ensuite shower room.

The second floor 'Den' doubles as a bedroom, with a small double sofabed and washing facilities. Bean bags from the Den can be used outside for lounging.

There is a large travel cot which can also be useful as a safety pen on the pool terrace for very small children.

The open plan lounge features modern comfortable L-shaped sofa, with built-in sofa bed, and the modern kitchen features large fridge freezer, cooker and hob, dishwasher and 10 sets of crockery and cutlery.

We provide a mobile phone with useful numbers already programmed for your convenience. Please note this is for local calls only.

All bedlinen, bath towels and bath mats are provided.

Main changeover day is Friday but we will try to be flexible to accommodate your flights wherever possible.

Further details outdoors:
The 32sqm private pool set in a terrace and gardens with sunbeds and space for alfresco dining.

There is off-road parking for 2 cars, although we have always managed without hiring a car.

The perimeter and pool lighting create atmospheric evenings for eating alfresco.
The outdoor pool storage room also provides toilet and washing facilities as well as storage for pool funoodles.
The garden is home to some ancient olives, pomegranate trees and the occasional baby tortoise has been spotted.

Further details

You will be met at the villa by Burhan who will show you around and make sure you are settled in. He will answer any questions, organise trips if you wish and make sure you are comfortable throughout your stay. We can organise your transfer with Burhan for which you would pay him direct.

There are plenty of options for a day out. Choose from one of the well-run local beach clubs (all of which provide a free taxi to and from the beach club) or the beaches, Kaputas, Patara or Kalkan. We will provide the information and phone numbers for you.

A welcome pack including tea, milk, bread and other essentials will be provided on arrival. We can arrange for other items to be available on arrival at cost.
All bedlinen and bath towels/mats are included.
The villa will be cleaned and all towels and bedlinen changed at the end of each week.
The pool will be cleaned each morning.

Conditions

A non refundable deposit of £250 is required at the time of booking.

The balance plus a breakage deposit of between £100 (for 2 people) and £250 (for 3-8 people) is payable 12 weeks prior to your stay.

all bookings within 12 weeks of departure are payable in full at the time of booking.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

If this is your first trip to Kalkan, or to Turkey you will not be disappointed. This area of Turkey, despite the growth of tourism, remains unspoilt, with characteristic turquoise sea and a coastline that boasts some beautiful sandy beaches and islands with coves and caves that make them ideal for boat trips, snorkelling and relaxed tranquil days. There are plenty of historical and interesting places to visit, such as the Myra rock tombs, Patara amphitheatre and ancient relics and the sunken city of Kekova.

There are some excellent sandy beaches near to Kalkan; Patara is a long sandy beach, home to nesting turtles and boasting some spectacular waves providing great fun for all. There is a cafe (cash only), shower and toilet facilities and sunbed/parasol hire.
Kaputas beach is a sandy cove only a 5 minute taxi drive from Kalkan. This has no facilities although parasols can be hired.

The Kalkan / Central Kalkan area

Kalkan has developed from a small fishing village into a charming resort which benefits from quaint streets draped in bourgainvilla, teaming with small craft shops, friendly bars and excellent restaurants providing delicious food and spectacular rooftop views across the bay.

During the day, local beach clubs provide a free taxi service to and from their premises where you can hire a sunbed, enjoy the water sports and tasty lunch, snacks and drinks.

The people of Kalkan are friendly, polite and good humoured; you will not feel hassled or pushed into buying but do try your hand at a bit of bartering.
Kalkan market takes place every Thursday on the main road into Kalkan town centre from the villa. You can buy clothes, homeware and fresh fruit and veg here all at bargain prices.

Supermarkets are a 5 minute walk from the villa and provide almost everything that you will need.

Many airlines fly to Dalaman including: Monarch, Thomas Cook, Thomson, Jet2 and easyjet. The flight time is approximately 4 hours.

The transfer from Dalaman airport to Villa Zarif takes approximately 90 minutes. We can arrange the transfer with Burhan, on your behalf. We would recommend you have your transfer arranged before your arrival.

There is no need to hire a car whilst staying in Kalkan as the combination of an excellent taxi service and local facilities makes this unnecessary.

“Amazing!” We had a fantastic time in Kalkan and cannot wait to return! The villa was great and there was everything we needed in it! The information pack provided was so helpful and allowed us to settle straight in and just get on with our holiday without wondering where things were, how to work everything, etc. The pool was great and when at the villa we were hardly ever out of it! None of us can think of one way tthat the villa could be improved! We loved the roof top terrace and enjoyed our pre-dinner wine there as we waited for the younger female members of our party to get ready for the evening! Having an ensuite to each bedroom also meant that we were all able to get showered at the same time and not waste time. The person who oversaw the villa was hepful and the cleaners were very efficient mid stay and did a very thorough job. Everyone was so friendly! The only downside to our holiday was our arrival back in the UK and our return to work!! Thanks so much for renting us your beautiful villa! We really hope to return.

“Meet all our needs for our extended family holiday” This was the first time we had booked a vila direct with the owners and would not hesitate to do it again as our experience was so good. The villa is approx 10-15min walk from the centre of Kalkan with all its restaurants and shops. It is a very hilly walk but taxis can be arranged easily and cost around £4 each way if the walk proves too difficult. The villa is well equipped, very clean and comfortable with a good pool which was very much enjoyed by our 3 young grandchildren. The owners were very helpful during the booking process and arranged the transfer from Dalaman airport with a local taxi driver who also looks after the villa and proved so helpful in organising and advising anything we needed. We had an excellent holiday in Villa Zarif and would not hesitate in recommending this villa for a wonderful holiday in wonderful Kalkan. This is really a 3 bedroom villa as the top bedroom/ playstation room which has a sofa bed does not have any air conditioning and in our opinion would be too hot to sleep in during the summer months. In all other aspects the villa met all our needs and expectations.

“Fantastic!” A fabulous holiday from start to finish. The owners were friendly and great to deal with. Burhan, the local chap, struck the right balance of being friendly and helpful without being too pushy. Kalkan is a delight with some wonderful restaurants and a variety of authentic shops to wander in and out of. The standard of the villa was as described and the photographs were a true reflection of the luxourious feel of the place. The pool area and gardens were well maintained and although there is a villa to the back and side of the property, they are situated in such a way that doesn't make you feel like you are overlooked. The roof terrace with it's panoramic views of both the mountains and the bay is the perfect place to relax with a good book and glass of wine. We'll definately be back!!

“Very relaxing place, stunning roof terrace and master suit” Very nice villa and conscientiousness owner who listened to our feedback on a couple of minor improvements required. Would highly recommend for 4 adults 2 children max - a bit small for 6 adults. Pictures are an honest reflection of the villa. Other than the pool which is a little overlooked.
