VILLA TURKUAZ is a spacious modern holiday home with the very finest sea and mountain views. Offering superb unobstructed views of Kalkan Bay and the Taurus Mountains, the villa makes an ideal base for a peaceful and relaxing holiday in a truly magnificent setting.
Villa Turkuaz is fully equipped and very comfortably furnished. All of the spacious bedrooms offer fantastic sea and mountain views. A south facing aspect ensures that the private swimming pool, garden, roof and pool terraces all have abundant sunshine throughout the day. Its elevated position ensures a gentle warm sea breeze (called the "Meltem") arrives just when you need it!
In the day you can relax, swim and enjoy the magnificent views from the villa. The early evening sunsets from the villa spectacular! As the air here is very clean you will get great night time views of the stars and the colourful lights over Kalkan town.

The villa is fully furnished and air-conditioned. The ground floor consists of a shower room, large open plan kitchen diner and living area with sliding patio doors leading out to the swimming pool and garden terrace areas. The dining area is generously sized with a fully fitted kitchen and a table to easily seat 6 people. The stylish and well furnished living area has two large settees and two armchairs. There is a feature stone and marble fireplace. The living area overlooks the swimming pool and offers superb unobstructed views down the hillside over Kalkan Bay.
A marble and wrought iron staircase leads to the first floor with three bedrooms and a bathroom/shower room. The master bedroom has a double bed with a further two twin bedded rooms both with balconies. All the bedrooms have lovely sea and mountain views.
The second floor has a twin bedroom and a utilty area with a wash hand basin. This opens onto a huge roof terrace with spectacular views over Kalkan, Kalkan Bay and the Taurus Mountains. The roof terrace is equipped with a table and chairs and sun loungers. This is the best place to catch the last rays of the day and to watch the sun slip away behind the mountains - It's spectacular!

*The villa is positioned on a hillside and may be unsuitable for people with limited mobility.
*A car is not essential but may be preferred. There is a local bus service into Kalkan that can be caught within 5 minutes walk from the villa. Walking into Kalkan is downhill and takes about 30 minutes. There is also a reasonably priced local taxi service available.
*There are shops, a supermarket, a bakery and an Internet cafe within a short walking distance of the villa.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
The Mediterranean coast of Turkey is stunning combining wonderful sea views with the dramatic scenery of the forests and mountains. The area is steeped in historic sites from Lycian, Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman periods, all within easy reach of Kalkan. Kalkan also has a lovely clean pebble beach and close by are two of Turkey's finest sandy beaches at Patara and Kaputas.
The Kalkan area
KALKAN is special! This beautiful harbour village is set in a breathtaking landscape overlooking the sea. It has a wonderful laid back atmosphere and strict conservation laws ensure that the old village retains its history, character and charm. Winding cobbled streets, colourful local shops, bars and excellent restaurants all combine with stunning views over the Mediterranean. Kalkan has a beautiful pebble beach and there are also two other superb sandy beaches close by at Patara (20 minute bus journey) and Kaputas (5 minute bus journey). Patara is strictly protected from development and has been consistently voted as being amongst the best beaches in the world!
Kalkan has several supermarkets and a variety of small shops where leather goods, carpets, clothing and jewellery are particularly good value. There are several banks with ATM machines, a post office and shops offering money exchange. Kalkan also has a pharmacy, dentist and a doctors surgery. There is an excellent market in Kalkan on Thursdays.
Local activities include: White water rafting, jeep safaris, canoeing, diving, fishing, walking (although Kalkan is very hilly!), water sports and boat trips. There are several famous historic sites in the area. For a step back in time go inland into the mountains and pine forests and enjoy a fabulous meal at one of the local trout restaurants.

AIRPORT TRANSFERS - We can arrange return transfers to and from Dalaman airport for you. The transfer is relaxing and scenic and takes approximately 90 minutes. All transfer vehicles are air conditioned.
CAR HIRE - There are several car hire firms in Kalkan who can supply a car from Dalaman airport. We provide villa guests with driving directions to Kalkan and the villa.

Myself and my partnerI stayed in Villa Turkuaz for 1 week in September and wish we could have stayed for another 3!! The villa is spacious ,airy, fully equipped, and spotlessly clean. The pool and gardens are well maintained and the view, oh the view is simply stunning! The location of the villa is great and in close proximity to Akbel village (walk) and Kalkan (drive). We always hire a car and decided to visit most of the places recommended in the guest comments book egs salikant gorge, Patara Beach and Ancient Ruins Xanthos. Phil and Caroline are a lovely couple who were more than helpful from the minute I booked, arrived and returned home :( There is just the one negative (not for me) but I think a hire car is a must particulary for less mobile holidaymakers - you can't have a view like this without getting out of breath on the way back up! :) |

We're a well travelled family. We've stayed in a huge range of holiday accommodation over the years and Villa Turkuaz is right up amongst the best. We loved it! It has excellent facilities and is very comfortable and spacious. The pool and views are superb. Because we felt so at home in the villa, we spent a lot of time just relaxing there and enjoying it. When we needed provisions, the local shops are a short walk away. Kalkan, which is beautiful with lots of good shops and restaurants, is a longer walk or an easy bus or taxi ride if you feel less energetic. We also hired a car to explore a bit further and found that there's lots to do. If you're interested in history and culture, action sports, walking or just a bit of beach laziness and fun, you'll find it pretty near at hand. Getting to the villa was straightforward and the owners and local agents couldn't have been more helpful. All in all, we had a great holiday and intend to return. Highly recommended! |

Great villa, spent most of the fortnight by the pool sipping cool drinks & enjoying the views.July was over 40 degrees every day so swimming and lounging were all you could do in the day. Surrounding area has many archeological places of interest. Villa overlooks Kalkan village nestled between mountains and the coast and all the local restaurants were top notch (steaks and fresh fish particularly good)! |

*IMPORTANT NOTE: The Turkish Government levies a £10 per person charge (including Infants) for a visa to all British nationals arriving in Turkey. The amount is payable in sterling cash at the airport prior to passing through passport control. Scottish notes are not accepted.
