The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Visiting Turkey for the first time is a wonderful surprise. It has some of the most dramatic scenery imaginable and clear azure seas with golden beaches will greet you. Travel inland and you will be able to explore the pine clad mountains and lush fertile valleys as well as many fascinating archaeological and historic sites.
The Turkish people are friendly and obliging. They will only be too happy to talk about their country and its history. The resorts are a wonderful mix of the old and new. A mouthwatering choice of fantastic restaurants, plenty of wonderful shopping and a relaxing laid back atmosphere wherever you go.
Kalkan is a beautiful town with Ottomen era character.Once a Greek fishing village called Kalamaki it is now a upmarket resort offering its visitors a wonderful experience of Turkish hospitality. The waterfront has a selection of restaurants and bars to relax & watch the boats in the harbour or you can shop in one of the many shops selling local crafts & designer clothing.
Kas charm comes from its unhurried ambience & because it is further away from Dalaman airport it gets fewer visitors than the resorts further up the coast. Once an unspoilt fishing village Kas has lost none of its charm and ruins of the acient town of Antiphellus mix with the more modern buildings to create a unique & wonderful atmosphere. Just 2km away across the water to the South lies the Greek island of Megisti (Kastellorizo) which explans why this resort has a 'Greek' feel about it & even the Greeks from the Island come over to the mainland to do there shopping & visit the medical centres here.
