Villa | 12 bedrooms | sleeps 24
The Hillside Villas are stunning - there are three villas nestled together on the hillside overlooking Kalkan Bay with breathtaking views. They are interconnected by short paths. Absolutely perfect for families, and for families wanting to holiday together but also want their own privacy, your own front door. The villas have been specially designed with the families needs in mind - a lot of space inside and outside, a lot of shade with outdoor cushioned gazebos and deep shaded balconies, magnificent swimming pools which have toddler/child pools attached, there's even a bath in the villas. Everything you need for a perfect family holiday. The location up on the hillside is wonderful, quiet and peaceful away from the 'villa crowd' - an oasis if tranquillity for your family. The air up on the hillside is thankfully a little cooler in the summer months and happily you'll have fewer mosquito visitors in the evenings!
The three villas are Villa Blue (5 bedrooms), which is brand new, only opening its doors in July 2011, Villa Dream (5 bedrooms) and the baby of the family - Villa Star (2 bedrooms). Able to accomodate up to 24 people between them! No other private villa development in Kalkan can offer this. Blue and Dream are very spacious over three floors. They are all linked together with paths, only a few moments away from each other. These villas are all luxurous, incredibly well appointed with everything you'll need. They are very sylish and quite different to the standard ordinary villas that are numerous in Kalkan - a distinctive white/blue Mediterranean look with large outdoor shaded balconies on each floor. You will have a wonderful holiday at The Hillside Villas, no effort is spared to ensure this.
For a family holiday it is vital to have a very good local agent/partner to help you enjoy your holiday - to advise on tours, book restaurants, to help sort out any problems should they occur, basically to support you in any way - we have a highly professional caring partner in Kalkan - who is only ever a phone call away from you.
The Hillside Villas are about a 5 minute drive down into Kalkan village - so you have the perfect combination - your own peaceful oasis but just minutes away from the hustle and bustle of all that Kalkan offers.

We understand that the outside of a villa is just as important as the inside - for a family holiday, its where you spend a large proportion of your time. We have designed the outside as carefully as the interior of the villa. A family needs ample shade to relax under. Each villa has a fantastic pool with Roman steps ( one side with steps leading down into the water) so you can cool down half in half out of the pool, theres a special shallow toddler/child pool attached to each pool. There are clear sight lines all around - so you can rest but also keep an eye on your children. Villa Blue, the largest of the villas has three cushioned gazebos within its gardens as well as shaded pergola and shaded balconies on its three floors. Villa Dream has an incredibly deep shaded large ground floor patio overlooking the pool as well as a large comfortable gazebo within its gardens. Villa Star, a smaller property has a shaded-wooden pergola all around the villa as well as a huge wind out blind providing a cool space to rest alongside the pool. Of course you'll find a BBQ at all villas and wooden sunloungers with umbrellas.
The gardens are beautiful, much is laid to grass but also olive and citrus trees, palms, banana plants.
The villas have large open top floors where you can watch the sun go down in the evening and enjoy spectacular sunsets in the cool of the evening after a warm day.
The villas have been designed for outdoor al fresco dining on shaded balconies - large dining tables outside with wonderful views overlooking Kalkan Bay.
There is ample parking at all the villas.
There is a no smoking policy inside the villas - but there are numerous places outside to smoke, in the garden around the pools, on the villa balconies.
My local agent will track your arrival at Dalaman via the internet , so will know if (hopefully not) your flight is delayed - he will pick you up at whatever time and take you directly to your villa (about a 80 minute very scenic drive), show you around the property, answer any immediate questions you may have and give you the keys.
If you require a hire car (recommended) the vehicle of your choice will be delivered to the villa for you.
A basic welcome pack is provided for your arrival.
There is a small grocery shop just 100 metres up the hill from the villas - perfect for daily fresh bread. There are various supermarkets to stock up from just 5 minute drive away in Kalkan.
The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Rooftop restaurants with breathtaking vistas, a stylish marina, an 'old town' of paved winding streets, beach clubs on rocky outcrops - all combined with nearby Lycian and Roman ruins. Hire a gulet boat for a lazyday exploring the local bays, swimming and snorkeling and then enjoying a splendid lunch on board; go to Xanthos, the grand Lycian city with spectacular mosaics about 20 minutes away; visit Patara and Kaputas beaches, two of the most enchanting along the entire Med coastline - both about 15 minutes drive away in opposite directions; cool of at Saklikent Gorge, a refreshing walk followed with an unforgettable meal on suspended wooden platforms above the river; visit Kekova Island, a stunning unspoilt area with hilltop fort along with a magical sunken Lycian city. Or just do nothing - and enjoy yourself!
Kalkan stoney beach is about a five minute drive away. Actually Kalkan having a stoney beach is a great virtue as it's meant that the huge hotel groups haven't taken over- and this charming resort hasn't suffered from mass marketing tourism. But Kalkan is very well served with two fabulous sandy beaches only 15 minutes drive away. To the north is Patara Beach with its Roman gladiatorial stadium half submerged in sand dunes and 7 miles of golden sands - Patara is considered by The Sunday Times as amongst the top six beaches in the world! Busses leave for Patara about every 30 minutes from Kalkan. There is also the stunning picture postcard Kaputas Beach in the opposite direction, crystal clear water along what is called 'the turquoise coast'. Kaputas is on the road to Kas, which is well worth a visit as well.
