Superbly located actually in Kalkan village, not up the hill side, Kulenin Evi is a detached, air conditioned, four bedroom, four bathroom villa about 200 yards from the beach and even less from the centre of the main street. The 32 sq. m. private pool and adjacent jacuzzi are set in the unusually large private garden, the garden terrace provides the perfect setting for al fresco dining while you can enjoy the sun on the pool terrace and take advantage of the shade on the vine terrace, all surrounded by bourganvillea, hibiscus and many other exotic plants. However, even more special is the fact that the shops and restaurants of Kalkan are only a couple of minutes' walk away. Unlimited free wireless broadband internet access and free local telephone calls provided.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

Kalkan is situated on the South West corner of the turquoise coast of Turkey, surrounded by the Taurus mountains. The area offers culture, adventure and relaxation.

For those who want to explore the ancient historical sites there are many to choose from. You could take a boat trip along the Dalyan and see the rock tombs or visit nearby Xanthos, the capital city of the Lycian Federation and walk round the amphitheatre, tombs and a Byzantine church. At Letoon, which was an important religious centre for Lycia there are the remains of temples to the three national deities, Leto and her twin sons Artemis and Apollo.

For the more adventurous you can hire a jeep to tour inland or along the coast or you can take part in the many water sports offered, scuba diving, sailing, snorkling, cruising on a gulet, parasailing or just swimming.

Or perhaps you prefer the nearby beaches of Kaputas and Patara, which boasts 12 miles of golden sand, swimming in the sea at one of Kalkan's beach clubs or just relaxing by the villa's pool.

Kalkan / Central Kalkan area

This picturesque former fishing village offers a more sophisticated holiday than the average resort. The white washed houses rise up the hillside from the harbour overlooking a beautiful bay. You can browse in the shops in the narrow streets which wind through the town, looking at glassware, silver, jewellery, clothes, carpets and the traditional hand painted pottery. Don't be surprised when the friendly shop keeper offers you a glass of apple tea. You can relax in the street cafes or spend time in one of the bearby beach clubs. You can take a dolmus (local bus) to nearby Kas or to the bustling town of Fethiye.

In the evening there are a multitude of places to eat in Kalkan, from the harbour side and famous roof terrace restaurants to the street cafes and bars, forever popular with the teenagers.

How to get there

Dalaman is the nearest airport with flights from most of the major airports in the UK during the season, May to October. Outside these dates the flights to Dalaman are more limited or you will need to fly to Antalya.

On the ground floor is a large, air-conditioned double bedroom with a king sized bed, dressing room and en suite shower room and an air conditioned twin bedded room with adjacent shower room, both with direct access to the gardens and terrace. A 9th person can be accommodated in the ground floor double bedroom on a good quality fold up bed. There is an additional charge of £50 per week for the 9th person.

The spacious air conditioned sitting room, 30 sq m is on the first floor, with balconies overlooking Kalkan Bay. With three sofas there is seating for eight and DVD and CD players are provided with a supply of DVDs and CDs. There is also a selection of books and games to enjoy. Also on the first floor is the separate kitchen/dining room with an extensive range of units, 4 ring gas hob/oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, fridge and freezer with a balcony overlooking the gardens and private swimming pool and steps down to the terrace.

The second floor comprises a large, air conditioned double bedroom again with a king sized bed, dressing room and bathroom with jacuzzi and shower with two balconies overlooking the bay and the fourth bedroom, air conditioned, with twin beds and en suite shower room and balcony overlooking the garden, pool and the sea.

You might like to enjoy a BBQ on the third floor roof terrace where dining is magical as the sun sets and the stars come out over the Bay, mountains and the town. There is also an attic style room with a sink, washing machine and fridge to keep your food and drink cool when on the roof terrace.

The house has mosquito screens at the windows and mosquito machines are supplied.

One infant can be accommodated in a travel cot in each of the double bedrooms. We can organise travel cot rental, costs to be paid locally to the supplier.

Further details outdoors:
The villa is surrounded by large private gardens containing a private swimming pool, 32 sq. m. and a jacuzzi, 4 sq m with 13 hydro air massage jets and terraces with tables, chairs, sun beds and umbrellas so you can relax, swim, sunbathe, dine and entertain. Outside lighting on the terraces and in the pool transform Kulenin Evi at night making the setting perfect for pre diinner drinks or evening swimming.

However location makes Kulenin Evi extra special, it is 200m from Kalkan beach and 150m from the main street in the village enabling you to enjoy the shops and restaurants with ease.

Further details

Cleaning, changes of linen and towels are provided twice during a 2 weeks stay and once during a 1 week stay, (every 4/5 days). Guests are requested to bring their own beach towels. A welcome pack is provided.

We can arrange transfers from the airport, the cost each way is £55 for a car accommodating 3 people, £70 for a mini bus accommodating up to 7 people and £90 for a mini bus for up to 9 people.

Conditions

Families with younger children should note the main pool does not have a shallow area though the jacuzzi doubles as a child's pool.

Refundable damage deposit of £250

Please note Scottish pound notes are not accepted in Kalkan

The above prices are for 8 people, an additional charge of £50 pw will be made for each additional person, including infants, accommodated in the double bedrooms. Maximum occupancy is 9 adults/children plus 2 infants in travel cots.
