The Turkish Mediterranean Coast region
The small and beautiful fishing port of Kalkan, situated on the beautiful turquoise coast of Turkey, is un- spoilt by mass tourism and offers a more sophisticated experience than the usual resort town. Seeped in history Kalkan is one of the most beautiful locations along Turkey’s fabulous Lycian Coast.
Kalkan offers a holiday destination suitable for the most discerning of tastes, with its narrow winding streets lined with beautiful old villas amongst local specialty shops and fabulous restaurants in historic buildings, there is plenty to discover and enjoy. Masses of brilliant bougainvillea flowers hang from the original Ottoman balconies adding to the stunning beauty and truly unique atmosphere of Kalkan
Kalkan has embraced its Ottoman Greek architecture and strict building codes ensure that the town remains small and any developments blend in with the historic architecture. Despite its small size Kalkan has plenty to offer with numerous restaurants offering fabulous local cuisine and an abundance of fresh sea fayre and European dishes.
Kalkan is the ideal base from which to explore the fantastic coast, with private tour operators offering a multitude of daily excursions by sea and road. Alternatively if you prefer a more tailored experience you may wish to hire a private boat for the day.
Whether a thrill seeker or looking to explore the regions rich history Kalkan has much to offer you by day and night, although the nightlife is a more laidback style than you would find in many of Turkey’s busier resorts.
But don't just take our word for it here are what some of the press have to say about Kalkan;
Sunday Times "Kalkan attracts the kind of visitor who would also enjoy Tuscany or the Dordogne"
The Guardian likens the town to "the Italian Riviera minus the poseurs"
LaVanta is an exclusive development nestled in the hillside above the beautiful fishing port of Kalkan.
The site boasts a magnificant 50m inifnity pool with fantastic sea views plus a small childrens pool with an onsite bar and restaurant manged by the owner of one of Kalkan's best restaurants.
Lavanta also has a gated entrance with 24hr onsite security.

"Great villa, private pool, perfect weather for a relaxing trip"
The villa was great, with aircon, provided towels, new and very clean, and had everything we needed. The villa itself contained a private infinity pool but there was additionally a larger pool at the clubhouse which also had a table tennis table and a pool table. The villa was set up in the hills so had fantastic views of kalkan and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

"Wonderful villa, great location, fantastic if you like beaches, ruins and great food!"
We had a wonderful time at Villa Pomegranate. The villa was clean, spacious and the minimal decor worked very well.
The kitchen is well equipped, even down to having a waste disposal unit, which helps to dispose of food and keep the ants at bay! A toaster would be the only addition.
The view from the villa is superb, with clear views of the bay.
Kalkan was very hot in July. We managed this by getting up early, visiting something, then returning to swim, read and use the ac.
A car is essential - the villa is about 3km from the town.
All in all, a great holiday. We enjoyed it very much.

"A perfect holiday in a beautiful place"
Everything about Villa Pomegranate, the La Vanta location and Kalkan in general was perfect for us, a family of 5. Pomegranate has such stunning views that its hard for a camera to do justice to. The villa pool was perfect for us but we enjoyed the 50m communal pool too, with its equally beautiful views. Dinner out in Kalkan at a different restaurant every night was a great way to end each day.
We hired a car for the duration (from Dalaman airport) which we found useful.
Patara beach, Xanthos and river canoeing (you'll get blisters but its worth it) were all big hits, as was the weekly market in Kalkan.
