The Turkish Mediterranean Coast region
From its base at the foot of the Taurus mountains, close to where the river Xanthos meets the sea, Kalkan offers a wide range of activities to suit all tastes. You can enjoy canoeing on the Xanthos, horse riding across the sands of the Patara National Park, sea kayaking to the underwater city of Kekova (also available via a Boat Trip), paragliding, fishing, scuba diving, snorkelling, water skiing and swimming. In addition, there are numerous trips available, including visits to Fetihye Market, Saklikent Gorge (the longest and deepest in Turkey), Pamukkale mineral spa, Carpet Weavers, a jeep safari covering spectacular views and countryside, a day trip to Patara Beach, visits to archaelogical sites at Xanthos, Letoon, Pinara, Tlos and Patara, visits to traditional mountain villages at Bezirgan, Saribelen and Islamlar and various boat trips, including Kalkan bay and islands and a visit to Meis, a Greek island.
Villa Yasmina is situated in the hills above Kalkan, offering peace and privacy, with breathtaking scenery. A 15 minute stroll or a three minute drive or taxi ride will take you to Kalkan, a picturesque harbour town with narrow, cobbled streets packed with fascinating shops (rugs, clothes, crafts, antiques, jewellery, ceramics etc), bars and cafes. At night Kalkan comes to life, with its high quality restaurants, many at roof terrace level, with stunning views. Kalkan has its own small pebble beach. Kaputas, a lovely sandy beach at the foot of a ravine, is 5 minutes away by car and Patara beach which, at 12 miles, is the second longest in the world, is 15 minutes drive away. Kalkan is set in an area steeped in history, with many ancient sites nearby. A simple trip up to the mountains behind Kalkan will take your breath away.

"Fantastic views, great Villa"
My friends and I have been to Kalkan many times and love everything about it, the people are very friendly, the restaurants are a foodies paradise and for us girlies the shopping is amazing. Villa Yasmina was the perfect base for us, an easy walk down into town and a not too strenuous walk back, we would recommend a taxi (cost £4) if you have indulged in the fine food or have a few items of shopping. The Villa provided everything we needed, was very well presented and looked after by Memhet who was more then helpful in arranging airport transfers for us. We are all agreed that we would love to book again for 2013.

"Lovely Villa - will be back"
This villa although slightly out of town offers everything that you could want; We have stayed in many villas in Kalkan and now twice in Villa Yasmina - this villa has the added advantage of the roof terrace with lovely seating area - no other villa that we have stayed in has had this, a great place to drink turkish gin and tonic and watch the sun go down. .The villa is spacious and very well equipped. The villa is up the hill from the centre of town, you can either stroll up at your leisure in the cool of the eve as we did or take a short taxi ride costing about £4.00.
Would recommend the taxi transfers - they are hassle free and work brilliantly.
