About the home

Kardelen Apartments are situated just off the Kalamar Road in a quite residential area of Kalkan. The 8 apartments which make up Kardelen are set in a large plot with pretty gardens. There are even lemon trees growing in the communal garden to the back of the property should you need one for your G&T! The large private swimming pool and sunbathing terrace has full sun all day and comes with sunbeds with padded mattress's and brollies. Each of the apartments is English owned and is a holiday home, which means that at times throughout the year you could find you have the entire place to yourselves! as I have on many occasions. Apartment 4 is now available to rent. The location of this 1st floor apartment, and its proximity to the centre of Kalkan and all that Kalkan has to offer makes it an ideal choice for your holiday accommodation.
You will not need to hire a car to get about, unless you want to explore further afield, you most certainly will not need to hire any taxi's, which can prove to be expensive going to and from Kalkan all the time. This should be noted when choosing your accommodation as many new apartments "in Kalkan" with "stunning sea views" are a very long way out of town as much as 1.5 miles out, and up very very steep hills.(hence the stunning views!) The sun is very hot and while a nice stroll with the sun on your back is wonderful, a route march up a 1 in 5 can be very very demanding!
Be warned!
Kardelen 4 is close enough to be able to walk everywhere instead of using taxi's, but quite and peaceful throughout the day and night, allowing you to enjoy, relax and also get a good nights sleep. Kardelen 4, gives you all of the ingredients for a fabulous holiday, just add yourselves and enjoy your best holiday yet.

Apartment 4 comes with 1 master bedroom with double bed air conditioning unit & en suite shower room. The second bedroom has, 2 single beds, air conditioning unit and shower room 2 steps across the hall. It also has its own spacious balcony with table, 2 chairs and brolly. Both bedrooms have large wardrobes with drawers. There is a hair dryer provided in both bedrooms. The master bedroom comes with a Yamaha CD, radio & ipod dock. The second bedroom has a CD/radio system. The separate kitchen is extremely well equipped should you decide to cater for yourself and comes with cooker,microwave,washing machine,dishwasher, fridge freezer, fresh coffee machine,food steamer and much much more. It also has its own balcony to the side of the property ideal for the drying of your washing, swimming towels & cozzie! We have also provided a cool bag and blocks should you decide to prepare a picnic or just want to take out some drinks and keep them cool.
The comfortable front facing lounge has a 3 piece suite,dining table & 4 chairs, coffee tables & lamps. There is a music centre on the wall with tapedeck, cd & radio. There is also a flat screen television which comes with integrated CD/DVD and ipod docking station and receives local satellite channels.There is a large balcony off the lounge with table, 4 chairs and a brolly.The lounge is fitted with 2 ceiling light/fans for your comfort, the fans will work on their own or with the lights, there is also a freestanding fan. We have an assortment of books,games CDs etc.
As well as providing all internal towels we even provide your outdoor pool towels,which we are happy for you to take to the beach or on boat trips etc, thus saving valuable room and weight in your suitcase for those holiday clothes! Check out other adverts for apartments and you will find you have to bring your own beach/pool towels. The only thing we ask is that you wash these towels yourself. Kardelen 4 really is an exceedingly well equipped apartment and as such seems to surprise many of our guests. Some, have said they have tried to catch us out when preparing meals in the hope they could say something was missing. As yet no one has been able to do this!!

Further details outdoors:
As mentioned earlier, there are 3 balconies to this property each having a different aspect, One to the rear, one to the side and one to the front. The main front balcony has a table and chairs for outdoor al fresco dining along with a parasol to give extra shade when required. The back balcony also is equipped with a table and 2 chairs and a parasol. As the balconies are all different aspect you can always find the sun or shade as desired throughout the day, should you tire of lazing by the pool! As a first floor property, the apartment does not have a sea view (go to the next landing & look out the window to see the sea!) but is only minutes away from the sea. Kalkan Town beach is just a 10 minute stroll away. The large shared pool sits within an equally large patio where numerous sunbeds and brollies are provided for your relaxation and comfort. As the pool receives full sun all day, you will not have to keep moving your sunbed to chase the sun and can quite happily sunbathe well into the early evening. There is also a pool shower, and we would firmly ask that you use this before entering the pool.

Further details

A welcome pack will be provided for your arrival at the apartment and this will contain English Teabags,Nescafe coffee,milk, 5 litre bottle of water. Wine (1 bottle of red & 1 bottle of white) orange juice,fresh bread,butter and jam. If your flight is a late evening flight, you may also find that eggs and a "toaster" loaf have been provided so that you can have breakfast before going shopping.
All washing up liquid, dish washer tablets, washing powder and fabric softener are also provided for you at this apartment.
We provide liquid soap and shower gel in both shower rooms, just 1 more thing that you dont have to worry about.
Although men can quite happily use the shower gel to wash their hair I suggest Ladies, that you bring your favourite shampoo & conditioner although all of the major brands are on sale locally.
Should you require anything else to be bought for your arrival (cola or fizzy drinks etc,) please let us know beforehand and we will instruct our manager,Kazim to buy it in for you and you can pay him upon your arrival at the apartment.
All you have to do is arrive, relax, and start a memorable holiday in Kardelen 4 and Kalkan.

Conditions

A non-returnable booking deposit of 25% of the total cost of the accommodation will be required on confirmation of your booking. The outstanding balance to be paid 8 weeks before departure date. A £100 breakage and damage cheque/transfer will be required with your final balance payment.This amount to be retunded within 2 weeks of the end of your stay upon satisfactory property inspection by our staff.
There is a NO SMOKING policy inside the apartment. Smoking is only permitted on the balconies.
The apartment is not, and will not be equipped for very young children.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

This area is so steeped in history, that it would be impossible not to find something to please everyone in this region. Ancient Lycia, in south western Turkey runs from Ekincik to Antalya and has some of the most dramatic,mountainous scenery anywhere in Turkey. The Taurus Mountain range rising to a height of over ten thousand feet, where the snow can be seen on their tops well into the summer months.
With an average of 300 days of sun per year it is little wonder that the poly tunnels are always full of fat, sweet & juicy ripening tomatoes. Some of the best I have ever tasted!
This whole area would also make for a great winter break as the days are still warm although the evenings can be a bit chilly. Sightseeing at this time of year is much more comfortable than in the high season heat.

The Kalkan / Central Kalkan area

Kalkan started out as a trading port, but over the years its main industry has become tourism. Although it has grown, it still retains a quaint village feel with its cobbled streets, old buildings covered in bright coloured bougainvillia and narrow little alleyways which lead down to the sea and harbour where the fishing boats and wooden gullets bob about in the clear blue waters.
While in Kalkan a must do is to go on a gullett boat trip. These boats leave harbour daily around 10.am stopping in sheltered bays for you to swim and then providing a meal on board before coming back into harbour around 4 oclock. If you dont want to go on a boat with other people, wait till most have gone out and then haggle with a boat captain and you may end up with a boat all to yourselves.
If sightseeing is your thing,numerous historical sights are within easy reach. Tlos, Xanthos, Lettoon and the Saklikent Gorge to name but a few.
As for beaches, Kalkan has a shingle Town beach, or catch a Dolmus to Kaputas Beach 10 minutes away to find soft sand and an amazing turquoise sea, but be warned there are many many steps down to the beach but once down there it is well worth the effort! Famous Patara Beach which is a nature reserve, is a stunning stretch of 17 kms of sand and not much else. Wonderful! After all this sightseeing, you will be hungry, but fear not as Kalkan is reputed to have some 200 Cafe's Bars and Retaurants all just waiting to serve you with that Turkish hospitality.

There are many airlines flying into Turkey these day and Dalaman International Airport is open all year round. It takes approx.1.5 hrs by car, being the closest airport to Kalkan. Flights are also available to Antalya, and the drive to Kalkan takes about 3 hrs.

“Fantastic well equipped apartment” The apartment is wonderful, in a fantastic location and is very well equipped. Within walking distance to Kalkan where there is an abundance of restaurants to choose from. Kalkan is a great holiday destination with plenty to go for couples, families and we wouldn't hesitate in returning and recommending Kardelen 4 to others.

“Great location and an apartment with everything you could possibly need” I found this apartment through Owners Direct and having never stayed in an apartment before I had no idea what to expect. The owner wrote back to me the same day I inquired about the property with more details, pricing and was generally really helpful. It was so easy to book. The owner even arranged tranfers from the airport for us which were much less expensive than the ones I had found myself. When we arrived at the apartment we were met and given the keys. It was spotless and the cleaner came in mid-week to give it another once over, wash towels etc. The fridge was stocked with essentials and a couple of bottles of wine. There was every piece of cutlery, pot, pan, utensil, microwave, iron, hairdryer etc you could possibly need. The apartment is also air conditioned which was a lovely welcome home after a day out in the heat. We found everyone to be very friendly and we were recommended some great places to eat and drink throughout our stay. The location of the apartment is about 5-10 minutes walk from the town centre and beach (NB Kalkan is hilly). This was great as it wasn't too far, but just far enough away from the hustle and bustle. We enjoyed breakfast every morning on the peaceful balcony. We actually didn't spend much time at all in the apartment as there is so much to see and do around the local area (the owner has provided a folder of tips which includes places to visit), but there is a lovely pool (cleaned every day) if you just wanted to swim and relax there. If I ever go back to Kalkan I would definitely stay in this apartment again and I will also recommend it to my friends.

Retension of the apartment after 6.pm will incur an additional days rental.
