The region has mild Mediterranean winters with almost no humidity and beautiful hot summers. For the beach lovers, Kalkan beach is just 1km away, 20km from the resort is Patara Beach,a 14km long unspoit beach, famous for its nesting turtles. 7km away you will find Kaputus beach,a small sandy cove and beach nestled at the foot of a striking mountain gorge. Saklikent Gorge situated 30km away is an 18km long gorge approached along a wooden boardwalk above the river. Visit Myra the Roman theatre and the Rock Tombs. From Kalkan or Kas you can take a boat tour of the Sunken City of Kevkova. Along the shore of the island are Byzantine foundations and ruins, partly submerged in the sea. Nearby, a 20 minutes drive from Kalkan is Islamer, a small village set in the Taurus Mountains giving you an insight into the rural life of Turkey.
Kalkan is a delightful fishing town, rising gently from the bay, retaining a Turkish flavour whilst offering all requirements for the modern world. Set along narrow winding streets leading to the picturesque harbour along which are many tempting restaurants offering both Turkish and International Cuisine. Spend a lazy day at sea, sunbathing, swimming and and having lunch on one of many boat trips which leave daily from the harbour. There is a market held in Kalkan on a Thursday.

"Very nice experience"
The Patara Prince Resort was a very convenient place to spend a summer holiday. Fairly close to Kalkan that was exactly as quiet as we wished. Nearby facilities, activities and sightseeing-possibilities was perfect. The appartment was bit small for 5 persons and some small tecnical issues (toilet not flushing but was repaired the next day, lightbulb in kittchen not changed during our stay, noisy bedroom-fan), but a part fom that, our stay was very nice and recommended.

Just had a lovely holiday with my fiance, Kalkan is a great resort, food was exceptional, people very friendly, sunshine every day and clean beautiful turquoise water. The apartment is just as advertised with lovely view of the sea from the balcony. The beds are comfortable and we had everything we needed. The complex is very pretty with its pleasing architecture, paths, flowers and trees. There is a bus which takes you to the pools (the whole resort is on a hill), you never need wait more than 10 min. Sunbeds were easy to get, no overcrowding. It was also great to have easy access to the sea. Graham the owner was very helpful with information about the resort he also organised our transfers we had a contact in resort called Ahmet who also helped with transport and any problems that could have occurred (which did not) I would recommend this apartment to friends and family.

Just returned from a fabulous week in Kalkan with 4 friends. The apartment was spacious and clean and easily accommodated us all. There is air conditioning in the lounge and a fan in the bedroom - all necessary in the Turkish heat. Although the kitchen isn't very big, we managed to make lunch everyday in the apartment. We spent most of the week around the pools, either the adult only pool or the family pool and no matter what time of day we didn't struggle for sun beds. There are lots of steps to get down to the pools so not good if you having walking difficulties but there is a free mini bus from the pool back to the apartment so no uphill climbing! Kalkan is the best resort I have been to in Turkey, its oozes charm with lots of restaurants and we didn't have a bad meal all week. The resort centre is around a 20 minute walk but a taxi was also cheap enough at 15tl for the 5 of us. All in all a fantastic apartment in beautiful surroundings and I can't wait to go back next year

Every day at sunset my wife and i would watch the sunset from the balcony with a rum and coke in our hands! We bought the rum from duty free but got the limes and mint from our friendly local fruit and veg shop. Spectacular! We were very last minute booking our holiday and i was delighted by the owners response in booking for us as well as organising transfers. We were basically flying blind but were delighted by the Apartment and complex. We had our son with us and the apartment was big enough for the three of us, we used the bedroom in the recess of the living room which gave us easy access to the balcony while our son had a single bed in the main bedroom. The living area is air conditioned with a fan in the bedroom to keep the place cool. The kitchen is small with an electric hob that does take some time to heat up but who was rushing! We eat in a few nights as the food from the local butcher/fruit and veg were great. You can pick up herbs along the path next to the bottom pool! The apartment is situated at the top of a hill so not so easy to walk to but a shuttle bus can take you back and forth. We loved it!

"Great swimming in the Kalkan Bay"
We stayed 8 days at The Patara Prince; 2 families with children in 2 apartments. The resort itself has a nice architecture and is also well kept by the staff. So, absolutely higher quality than the small Pansions we also like to stay at. During our stay it was very warm and we enjoyed the shuttle service that will take you to the swimmingarea which offers some of the best water for swimming. The sea is not for small children unless they are skilled swimmers. From the resort you can easily work to Kalkan where it is nice to spend the evenings shopping and dining. From Kalkan a lot of interesting sights are within reach. The Sakklikent Canyon is great, but also the sunken city and a lot ancient sites are near by.

"Wonderful accommodation in a beautiful resort"
I spent 11 nights at the apartment with my girlfriend, and we are both in agreement that it was our favourite summer holiday ever - the apartment, the resort, the town, the nearby attractions, the food and of course the weather all contributed to this. The apartment itself is spacious, the air conditioning is excellent (necessary if you're there in summer) and the balcony area provides amazing views, especially over the bay at sunset. The kitchen is well-stocked should you choose to eat in - we did so one night, but made used of the kitchen for breakfast and lunches. There was also a great selection of books, local information and fun things (such as lilos, snorkels, etc.) in the apartment which you can use during your time there. The Patara Prince resort was very nice, and we spent a few days by one of the three pools. There is a small shop near the apartment which is very handy. There is a water taxi running from the sea platform at the hotel to Kalkan harbour (costs 5 TL), or you can walk into the town - it takes around 20 minutes. Taxis from town cost 15TL. We enjoyed lots of good food as well - as vegetarians, there was a much better selection than in most places we have been. Kalamaki and La Terrazza were our favourite restaurant, Belgin's Kitchen was also really good and Cafe Del Mar was great for drinks. We took a few day trips to the nearby beaches of Patara and Kaputas, as well as exploring the ruins at Patara which I would recommend. Also went for a hammam in Kalkan which was very relaxing, and did plenty of shopping in town - brought back plates, throws, cushions as well as a large amount of Turkish food and tea. As a result, our flat in Glasgow now reminds us of our time in Kalkan, which proves how much we enjoyed ourselves, as we try to preserve our memories of such a special holiday.
