"Fab location, a characterful cottage"
We were welcomed by Carol, who gave us a good intro to the facilities and helped us settle in. The cottage is very comfortable, with lovely furnishings and fittings, it feels like home. There is a goo… More

"Gem of a holiday home!"
Whaler's Cottage is an ideal place to locate yourself for a relaxing and charming holiday in Cape Town. The cottage was very well decorated, brimming with character and perfectly clean. The protected porch overlooking the harbour provided the perfect location for our breakfasts (if we didn't eat out at one of the many restaurants right on your doorstep) and the small courtyard garden at the back provided a haven for an afternoon drink or BBQ). The beds were comfortable and Jane was the perfect hostess. It was a special treat to have the cottages cleaned and bedding changed every 4 days with towels and beach towels included. Quaint, arty and eclectic Kalk Bay is one of the best locations to explore Cape Town and surrounding areas. Brimming with excellent restaurants, clothes, antique and book shops and a vibrant harbour with sea pools (Dalebrook is the best) and walks with the beautiful and child friendly beach of Fishhoek in the warm Indian waters of False Bay, we didnt have to venture far for relaxing days out. From the Waterfront in Cape Town, a visit to the Aquarium, a trip up Table Mountain, afternoon tea at The Mount Nelson hotel (a must!), sundowners at Noordehoek beach, a safari trip and many visits to the beautiful wine estates with their amazing food we had a perfect holiday based from Whalers Cottage. Highly highly recommended and we will return. The only downside is the diet we will now have to go on!
Thank you for your kind review of Whalers Cottage. Pleasure to meet you all, so pleased you enjoyed your stay and time in Cape Town.

"The Best in Kalk Bay"
I have stayed in a number of different self catering properties in the colourful village of Kalk Bay and Jane Olives delightful home 'Whalers Cottage is by far the best of all. It has been so tastefully decorated and is opposite the Kalk Bay harbour with views out onto the sea, False Bay and all the little fishing boats bobbing in the harbour. I am reluctant to say more in fear of never being able to get a booking again, this property is one of our favourite on the planet, we visit it a few times each year.
Thank you for your review of Whalers
An absolute pleasure for me to accommodate you and the family at the cottage.
