Artemis is a beautifully kept small holiday complex, located 400 meters from the sandy beach of Kalives and it is enjoying fantastic views to the sea and the peninsula across. The lavish gardens full of rare flowers and herbs, are complemented with olive and fruit trees and small paths through these wonderful gardens lead to a large pool and children's pool surrounded by grassy areas. Whether you wish to enjoy a walk around the lovely countryside, a relaxing day by the pool or just to read your book under the olive tree shade, this place can only delight the guests!
The villa-like building is designed in such way so it offers privacy to each unit. On ground floor there is the two bedroom apartment enjoying the space of a private patio. There is a BBQ area with pergola on one edge of the fenced land, and a private shaded car park on the other edge. None of these obstruct any of the views.

Kalives, Crete area
The Apokoronas region to the east of Chania is a very fertile area with several sandy beaches at Almirida, Kalives and Georgioupolis. Apokoronas is one of the most picturesque areas of the province of Chania with many attractive and authentic villages.
Kalives: A wonderful seaside village, retaining the pace of the local lifestyle. The White Mountains dominate the area behind it and provide a dramatic backdrop that contrasts the sandy beaches. There are two beaches, one near our apartments very long and sandy with a beach-taverna, that rarely gets crowded: the other one, 1 km away, is at the edge of the central village and is hosting the small harbour. Here, another great selection of tavernas by the seafront, offer excellent meals. Kalives without being spoiled by tourism provides all the necessary amenities for couples and families. The local square, shaded by a huge plane tree, has the traditional kafeneion where tourists get-together with locals and watch the world go by! Lovely colourful churches, several shops and supermarkets blend-in perfectly with the tourist accommodation that includes from small cottages, to apartment complexes, hotels and luxury villas.
There are wonderful walks in this lush area, including the Diktamos Gorge and several other countryside walks through orange and lemon groves by the sides of rivers Xidas and Koiliaris. Extending several kilometers inland it is rich in olive and citrus groves, pasture lands and tiny hamlets rarely visited by tourists.
In the spring-time, the fields, groves and tracks are filled in endless varieties of flora including many species which are endemic to Crete. Birdwatchers will find a large number of local as well as migratory birds to see, ranging from tiny warblers to large buzzards, eagles and hawks. Kournas freshwater-lake, is nearby and offers a nature’s reserve rich in wild flowers, herbs and birds.
How to get there
Fly to Chania airport. The drive is very easy and picturesque(30 mins).Flights to Chania from the UK can be bought from Monarch Airlines,ThompsonFly,FirstChoice Airlines. Also, Aegean airlines if you are looking for more comfort, luxury of scheduled service at low prices (for early bookings) and flexibility on travel days. There is also a great selection of flights to Heraklion airport with EasyJet and all above charter flights.
The journey from Heraklion is approximately 1hr30mins, along a coastal highway, that never has a lot of traffic. Taxi fare from Chania is no more than 35 euros.From Heraklion a taxi costs no more than 120euros. For car hire at either airports or at the resort, contact us for more information.
