Kalavasos is an ideal traditional village setting for holidays to Cyprus, where visitors can explore this beautiful island, including the many archaeological sites nearby, whilst enjoying the traditional Cypriot lifestyle. Centrally located, approximately mid-way between Larnaka and Limassol and not far from the sea, this is the ideal place to combine exploring the country with relaxation on the beach. The name Kalavasos originates from the ancient Greek word ‘vassa’ which means woody valley and the village dates back to medieval times. The village was once a thronging copper mining area and the remains of the mines and trains can still be seen. Today the village is an idyllic setting where you can experience the real heart and soul of Cyprus and maybe while away an hour or two over a coffee in the village square, with locals who are always welcoming and willing to sit and chat to you.

How to get there
We can arrange taxi transfers from Larnaca or Paphos airports to Kalavasos village. Rental car also arranged upon request. Directions on how to find our reception by rental car: As you leave the airport follow the signs to Limassol or Lemesos. Half way towards Lemesos the high way B1 will turn into highway A1. Drive on the high way A1. Turn out on exit 14, sign posted “Chirokitia-Tochni-Psematismenos-Maroni-1000m”. As you leave the highway turn right at the junction, follow the road under the bridge until the next junction at which you turn right again. After passing the petrol station there is an archaeological site and there you must turn right direction Choirokitia-Layia and then immediately left where there is a small church and a sign to Tochni Village. Keep driving straight on until you see the sign for Tochni Tavern, turn right here and then first left and straight up to the car park of Tochni Tavern.
At the end of the car parking area near the fence there is a stair case leading to the tavern/pool area where you will see the Cyprus Villages reception sign. Walking down the stairs you will find our Tochni Tavern and CYPRUS VILLAGES reception. Here you will be met by our representative who will welcome and escort you to Kalavasos village and your apartment.
