This is a self-contained/self-catering spacious studio unit. It has a fully equipped kitchenette, with microwave, hot plates, fridge etc. The large conservatory and deck which get all the afternoon sun until it sets, are a pleasure to enjoy with a quiet glass of wine and BBQ meal after a day in the outdoors. The cottage is in a private peaceful native growth and bird environment, behind our 2-storey house. As we live on site, we can ensure the cleanliness of your unit to a high standard.
With only one queen bed, this accommodation is a relaxing and get-away-from-it-all holiday for one person or a couple. Our guests love it and many have wished they'd allowed more time here in their holiday/travel plans.

About this location
The Nelson-Tasman Region
-The Abel Tasman area is known for its scenery, outdoor activities including boating and water sports in the sheltered ocean of Tasman Bay, warm summer temps and sunshine, horticulture and roadside stalls selling a variety of fruit, vegetables & honey, etc, vineyards, rivers for trout-fishing and swimming, hop-growing, many local artists' studios, craft markets, and much more!
-The remote Golden Bay is less than 1.5 hrs drive from Kaiteriteri over the hill to the Takaka township. There is caving at the top of the hill, good views over the Riwaka Valley and beyond to Nelson across the bay. An eco-tour along the sand of Farewell Spit may interest you - or you may just prefer to drive to the end of the road at the start of Farewell Spit or walk over farmlands to the remote beach at Puponga.
- If you prefer to see the area from up above, you may be interested in tandem skydiving, hang gliding or a tandem microlight flight, or even a fixed wing or helicopter flight over the area.
We are on the doorstep of the Abel Tasman National Park. Tourist boats leave daily from Kaiteriteri and Marahau providing a wide variety of options for transport into the Park where you can either enjoy walking between bays, kayaking, viewing seals on Tonga Island, swimming, relaxing on one of the many beaches, or just staying on the boat and enjoying the return boat ride to the top of the Park, calling into various bays en route.
We are 2 kms from a mountain bike track with grades for all abilities and other cycleways; and 1.5 kms from the 2 restaurants and general store at Kaiteriteri. The nearest supermarkets and general shopping area are 15 kms away in Motueka.
The beach at Kaiteriteri with its golden sands and clear green/blue water, is very safe for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding etc.
The beach at Little Kaiteriteri is approx. a 15 mins walk over the hill from the estuary at Kaiteriteri beach, or a 5 min walk around the rocks from the Kaiteriteri beach at low tide.
