The Turkish Mediterranean Coast region

The Antalya region of Turkey is located on the beautiful Mediterranean coast known as the Turkish Riviera.

It is a year round holiday destination with well over 300 days of sunshine per year. The season has at least 9 months of warm to hot weather and the cooler months are an ideal time to play golf.

Belek offers superb golf courses and is soon to open a huge Disneyland style theme park with water parks and an entertainment centre.

The Koprulu Canyon National Park is only 30 minutes away and there is the opportunity to go white water rafting, trout fishing or a choice of many varied walks as well as zip wiring and canyoning. Why not hire a car and discover the spectacular scenery and various little restaurants which overlook the river with its aqua water.

.Belek is a quiet place with no noisy discos or loud bars but instead has a selection of traditional turkish restaurants and quiet bars where nothing is hurried and you can sit and unwind whilst enjoying a nice meal. It is very cheap to eat out here and at most restaurants you are provided with free starters and free fruit afterwards.

The weather is good in this area from April right through to the end of November with temperatures soaring in July and August.

We find the people extremely helpful and friendly and very trusting.

The apartments in our complex are owned by various nationalities so there is a real mix of people and quite often as most of us holiday at different times of the year the pool is never crowded in fact in August we had it to ourselves on many occasions.

All in all a real get away from it type of holiday with plenty of activities around if you desire to do something other than lounge in the sun!!!!

Belek has a wonderful sandy beach fully equipped with sunloungers and shades and restaurants and a playpark and a shop. There are various watersportsonoffer and you can also go on a boat trip to Side which is a great day out. If the beach is not your idea of fun then you can go white water rafting, visit the water parks, shopping in Antalya, take a jeep safari or go quad biking through the Taurus Mountains, riverboat trips, boat trips, paint-balling or scuba diving. For those who prefer to absorb history and culture there is the Hellenistic/Roman City of Perge nearby and the great amphitheatre of Aspendos. The gorgeous Manavgat water falls and the Roman city of Side are also close by. Belek is a must for golfers. If you want to book excursions we can recommend a local agent. We can also arrange your airport transfers and car hire.

Golf: Our apartment is close to all the major golf courses and our contact in Belek can make all the arrangements for you. This resort is already home to 12 world class golf courses all designed by international teams of golf architects and PGA professionals.

Belek has many restaurants and shops and is centred around some beautiful waterfalls with fountains and lights everywhere. In the evenings no traffic is allowed through the town so it is both quiet and safe to walk around. There are many small shops selling food and also 3 large supermarkets which also deliver to your apartment if required. There are also money exchange places and internet cafes.

If you fancy a night in there is a takeaway pizza place and various restaurants will also deliver meals to your door.

There is a weekly market selling everything you can imagine just be prepared to haggle.

"Just such a relaxing time"

The apartment was a superb home from home, clean tidy spacious and close enough for a little wander in to town. You seem to be on another time clock with everyone so easy going and relaxed. You can't beat a little stroll down to the market, lots of good natured hustle and bustle, a browse and then pick up some street food and eat it on the way back to the apartment and then a dip in the pool followed by a cold beer on the balcony. There's a regular mini tractor pulled train thing which goes down to the beach where there's a fair selection of places to eat at. You must try the Turkish breakfast - just fantastic looking out to sea, over a table laden with goodies with the sun glistening on the water. Heaven! In the evening there are plenty of places to choose from for a drink or a meal, some of the best ones you just stumble upon. We had planned to do a bit of exploring but Belek itself, whilst not huge, had everything we needed to chill out and forget about work for a week or two. All in all, we can thoroughly recommend both the apartment and Belek, we hope to go back again.

"A perfect place to get away from it all"

We had a fantastic holiday here and loved the apartment - the owner is very helpful and and answered our numerous questions. It was spacious, clean and extremely well equipped - even had an egg slicer in the drawer. We loved the swimming pool and spent many days here sunbathing on the terrace nipping backwards and forwards into the apartment for a nice cold drink or snack. We had the swimming pool to ourselves some days as many of the apartments are rented out to local Turkish people who go off to work each day. Everyone was so friendly and helpful - Ramazan the gardener/security guy comes round each day and takes your order for bread so you can have it delivered fresh each day to your apartment door. You can also order water in big drums to save you carrying it from the supermarket – much appreciated as we had temperatures rising up in the late forties some days. Belek itself is fairly small with most shops selling fake designer gear, jewellery and souvenirs – there are supermarkets and internet cafes and a good selection of restaurants. We found it very cheap to eat out compared to the UK and most places give you free starters and free fruit afterwards. The biggest advantage for us was the fact we could walk into town in the evening so didn’t have to rely on a taxi. Also worth mentioning is that it is very quiet with no noisy karoke bars or discos or bars with loud booming music We did many trips which were all enjoyable. We went to Side by boat booked from Belek beach - on the way the boat stops for swimming and turtle spotting and we were even lucky enough to see a flock of flamingos. We also went to the Troy Water Park easily reached by the tractor and trailor which goes many times a day from the town to the beach. We also did white water rafting which is an amazing experience - be prepared for the cold water though! As we hired a car we drove to Antalya – Turkey's fourth larges city - you need to have nerves of steel to drive here!!!! We did drive in the opposite direction up through the mountains to Aspendos and beyond here it was much less stressful and the only hazard was herds of goats or an occasional cow on the road. Belek beach is sandy with some restaurants and plenty of shaded areas which is a must in the high temperatures. Kadriye beach is more stony but has lots of grassy areas to sit and relax in the sunshine. All in all a fantastic holiday - a real get away from it all type of place.
