The Turkish Aegean Coast region

Situated on a beautiful peninsula, Bodrum, home of the famous Greek historian Herodotus, is these days better known as a popular holiday resort. Enchanting villages of houses painted in white and trimmed with purple bougainvillea together with miles of sandy beaches and ideal locations for water sports.

Bodrum casts a magic spell. It exerts a lasting fascination on everyone who visits, irrespective of age, nationality or sex.

Bodrum retains its charm despite the crowds and development. Women feel more beautiful, men feel more intriguing. This is Bodrum's spell.

Kadikalesi region is only 7 km to the ancient town of Gumusluk where you have very nice local fish restaurants. You can enjoy the beaches as well as having a walk to the rabbit island which is knee deep. The local bazaar of Turgutreis can also be visited on Saturdays.

The waters around Bodrum are ideal for diving and snorkelling. Professional instructors are available for all levels of competence, from beginners to the "old hands"

Bodrum has several water sport centres all over the peninsula who rent out equipment, arrange excursions and even provide diving lessons for the inexperienced individual, eager to try out this famous underwater sport.

The next step now is to ask yourself.... 'Should I brave the charming crystal blue waters of Bodrum for a once in a life time experience?'.......What do you think?..... I would say, JUMP INTO THAT WATER, forget all your worries and let the diving experience take control!

However if you are feeling energetic and strong enough for something more adventurous why not try your hand at Water-skiing and Windsurfing, the peninsula beaches are highly recommended.

Horse-riding and river-rafting can be done just a little distance from Bodrum. For those who like to be really adventurous, there are Jet skis or you might even fancy Parasailing. Jeep-Safaris are offered by many companies now.

Aqua parks: Just recently two Aqua parks have been opened. One is the Dedeman Aqua park on the road to Ortakent and another is next to the TMT Hotel, direct on the sea side

Askin Diving Center

is a PADI Resort Center, and offers PADI, CMAS and Baracuda courses for all levels and there is equipment for up to 70 divers. The dive centre has 2 boats, which have a capacity for up to 20 divers each.

The senior dive instructor of Askin Diving Centre is Askin Canbazoglu who has a special interest in archaeology, as Askin is also an underwater archaeologist who was active in underwater archaeology at the Bodrum Underwater Museum for 8 years before starting his Askin Diving Centre.

With sea temperatures ranging from 14 to 25 degrees between summer and winter, Bodrum is a great location for diving holiday at any time of the year. Re-compression facilities and the services of a hyperbaric doctor are on 24-hour call in Bodrum.
