Property General

The property is a log cabin constructed originally in 1838. The style is very much rustic and whilst it has been partly refurbished and updated over the years it retains many of its original features including wardrobes, furniture, fixings and flooring. The original wood tools used to cut the beams that make the property are mounted on the walls in one of the bedrooms and some of the original yokes used to transport materials to the property are also hung on the walls.

The property is semi-self sufficient (eco home) with only electricity being provided from external sources. All of the properties water needs are fulfilled by a local spring running out of the Lienz Dolomites and all of its heating being generated from a combination of traditional tiled wood burners (Kackleoffens) and a woodburning stove powering a closed cycle central heating system. The kitchen contains an electric oven and stoves for instant heat in case the wood burner is not being used (Summer months).

"Mountain retreat"

We travelled up from Treviso to stay at Wurda (it's just across the boader). The journey was easy and the location of the house is fantastic. Great views and a really nice place to get away from it all :)
Everything you need in terms of shops and local amenities are just down in town.
Highly recommend!
