This charming farmhouse cottage has all you need for a relaxing family holiday - a spacious and comfortabe gite with a lovely mixture of traditional and modern furniture.
Tranquillity is guaranteed at Gite Les Blancs with no other houses nearby. You can relax in the peaceful tree lined grounds, knowing that your children are free to play in safe surroundings. The gite has its own garden with gated entrance, where there is a barbecue and garden furniture.
The private heated family sized swimming pool is perfect for children with no deep end. It has a sunny decked area and is fully enclosed with a gated entrance. There is also a large trampoline with safety net, badminton, table tennis and a toddlers play area.
Five minutes from the holiday accommodation are versatile local facilities which include a large supermarket, shops, bars, restaurants, beautiful lake, tennis courts and 25m swimming pool. .

The Brittany / Morbihan region
Holiday Gite Les Blancs is a perfect place to relax after a day out exploring Brittany, with its chateaux, medieval and Napoleonic towns (Locmine 10mins, or Pontivy 25mins), museums, canals, lakes, rivers, woods and fields as far as the eye can see, and of course the seaside, with miles of glorious sandy beaches, is never far away.
In about an hour you could be relaxing with the family on Carnac Plage, or visiting the amazing "standing stones" of Carnac, enjoying a meal in one of the lovely harbour side cafes at Lorient or Auray (45 mins), or taking a cliff top walk along the Quiberon peninsula.
In Breton the name Morbihan means "little sea" which aptly describes the Golfe du Morbihan. This is a must for anyone visiting the southern part of Brittany, with historic Vannes (only 30 mins away) at its head. Little motor boats called "vedettes" will take you on a magical tour around the islands of the gulf. If you prefer a shorter drive then try the Lac au Duc at Ploermel (25 mins), where there is a sandy beach (with plenty of shady spots), and water sports such as windsurfing or boating.
The Lorient Festival is one of the highlights of the summer season and is highly recommended if you are on holiday during the early part of August. For several days and nights the streets of Lorient are filled with hundreds of people. There is live folk music, dancing and colourful stalls selling all kinds of craftwork and local Breton produce. The bars and restaurants are constantly busy serving a variety of delicious meals, such as moules or galettes(savoury pancakes).
Not to be forgotten are the colourful markets which are so much a part of Breton culture. On your arrival at Les Blancs you will be given a list of all the market days, so no excuses for missing them!
Josselin / Radenac area
There is plenty to do at Reguiny, which is only 5 minutes down the road. You can take a leisurely stroll with the family around the beautiful lake, visit the first world war museum (where you will get your own friendly guide to show you around), swim in the 25 metre open air pool, or play tennis on the well kept tennis courts.
If you want to eat out, try the restaurant in Le Bretagne Hotel which is open every day. If the family enjoys takeaway pizzas, La Campanella can be recommended. It also has a very comprehensive menu for eating in. Radenac (5mins) has a very popular creperie with a bouncy castle to keep the children happy. Once you have tasted the crepes at Chez Bido you may be compelled to return!
At Radenac there are tennis courts (free of charge) which are within a large sports area. This is also the venue for "jeux sans frontieres", the annual inter village competition.
Shopping is easy when you are staying at Les Blancs. As well as the local bakeries, where you can buy your daily baguettes, Reguiny has a large supermarket with everything you should need, but if you feel like a change you can go to Josselin (15 mins) where there are two very large supermarkets.
At medieval Josselin you will find a magnificent chateau towering above the lovely Nantes Brest Canal. Further into the "Petite Cite De Charactere" are lots of attractive shops and restaurants which are very popular with locals and tourists alike.
The area around Les Blancs is ideal for walking and cycling with the family. The Nantes-Brest Canal with its picturesque locks, canalside bars and creperies is only 10 minutes by car. Our closest larger towns are Josselin and Pontivy which both have magnificent chateaux. Lac au Duc at Ploermel and the historic towns Locmine and Lizio are also an easy drive from the holiday cottage. A few minutes drive away is the N24 to Rennes, Vannes and the beautiful southern Brittany beaches of Carnac and Quiberon.

Lounge with traditional Breton buffet, three comfortable sofas and two armchairs, TV, DVD, CD. Wifi internet connection available in the cottage Extra sitting room off lounge with sofa bed - can be used as an extra bedroom by special request only. Washroom with toilet, washbasin and washing machine. Upstairs - four bedrooms, all with a shower cubicle, vanity unit and fitted wardrobe. One double room with child's bed, the other double room with cot. Two twin rooms with single beds, furnished with children in mind.
Further details outdoors: A large parking area is adjacent to the gite. Safe enclosed garden with barbecue exclusive to the gite. The pool is heated from the beginning of May until the end of September. The large grounds are safe for children. Badminton, table tennis, trampoline, swings with removable baby seat, toddler's toys.. Four adult bicycles are provided - one with removable toddler's bike seat. Tennis racquets suitable for adults can be borrowed - please bring junior raquets for children with you. Views of surrounding farmland. Spectacular sunsets and starry night skies. Fishing by prior arrangement in nearby lake.

Conditions
A non-refundable deposit of 25% is payable at time of booking. The remainder is payable 6 weeks before holiday - together with a refundable security deposit of £150. The full terms and conditions may be found on our website. There is a minimum stay of one week.

Payment can be made in GBP or Euros by direct transfer to our UK or french bank account.
A refundable security deposit of £150 is required with the final balance.
In July & August the changeover day is Saturday. All other dates are flexible.

Lovely 2 weeks. Thank you very much, even though my phone went in the pool. Trampoline, swimming pool, table tennis, bikes - what more could you wish for? The weather has been absolutely beautiful so we have made the most of it with dinner outside every night! Seeing as we had 8 of us there was plenty of space and things to do! We've had a very relaxing week in Brittany and are sad to be returning to the hurly burly of life in London! The gite is so peaceful & v. well equipped. The children loved splashing about in the warm pool and the trampoline has been a big hit too. William has particularly enjoyed having so much space to kick a ball about. Dear Veronica and Robert, Thank you for lovely and relaxing days in your beautiful house. The swimming pool was extremely popular with the children.
