Large Lounge, well equipped and furnished with satellite tv dvd player; Large kitchen and attached dining area and ample seating for 8+. Dishwasher and washing machine, fridge freezer. Private patio and bbq and small private garden plus share of communal garden surrounding the pool [shared with the 2 gites opposite when occupied]. Some bikes are available on request

The Brittany / Morbihan region

Vannes, large walled city and county town. Wednesday or Saturday morning markets where you can buy local produce and gifts and clothing. Also a specialist fish hall, and another covered market, Les Halles, with equally tempting displays. Park by the marina and walk through the ancient stone gateway and into the fascinating medieval quarter of the town.
Auray
A lovely Breton town with a good Celtic shop with all things Breton, good restaurants and cafes. Also is the charming port of Saint-Goustan which lies a short stroll away.with boutiques and galleries.
Carnac
Carnac is famous throughout the Celtic world for its alignments of standing stones, some 4,000 in all stretching over two and a half miles. There is an interesting and free information centre you can visit. Carnac also boasts beaches of gorgeous white sand. Sunday market. The beaches in Carnac are alive with activity in the summer.
Quiberon itself is a typical French seaside resort. You can eat at one of the restaurants (virtually on the beach), play with the kids on the white sands or explore the interesting shopping streets. Or take a boat to Belle IIle, or one of the other off-shore islands, Houat or Houedic? .


Josselin / La Trinite Porhoet area

La Trinite Porhoet
A small friendly town with bank bars boulangerie small supermarket. Very pretty ancient stone buildings and church and its own excellent Tourist Information Office.
Josselin
This is a magnificent Chateau town on the Nantes to Brest Canal where you can hire canoes and boats. Saturdays there is a market through the cobbled streets. Banks and Restaurants and Bars abound. In season Musical activities and festivals. Church with incredible views over the countryside from its high tower. Chateau and gardens are open to the public and there is also a Doll Museum to vist. Two large supermarkets on the outskirts.
Ploermel
Larger market town with cinema, bowling alley and more shops and supermarkets, bank etc. Close by is the Lac au Duc. A large man made lake from medieval times now with a sandy beach and water sports for hire plus a children's swimming pool with slides and small lakeside cafes. Golf course on the other side is open to non-members. Nearby Karting course.

Fly to Dinard or Rennes - 1hr flight maximum
Cheap flights from Ryanair and Flybe Stansted Luton and Southampton Only one and a half hours drive from Dinard and 45 minutes from Rennes
Ferries to St Malo [nearest] Caen Roscoff Le Havre or Channel ports/tunnel One and a half hours drive from St Malo, 3 hours from Caen and 3 from Roscoff
