Oori River Lodge built from natural stone under thatch is in a park-like setting on the banks of the Crocodile River. The lodge with Karee Cottage is fully game fenced. There are beautiful walks along the garden paths and the river's edge under indigenous trees - the perfect place to unwind and relax in tranquil and secluded surroundings. Oori River Lodge is the ideal holiday base with superb weather and easy access to National Parks and Game Reserves.Close by are Johannesburg's Northern suburbs, numerous restaurants and tourist attractions, yet set in the heart of the pristine Oori Private Game Reserve. Anywhere in South Africa is within easy reach by road or air.

Leisurely walks can be taken in the extensive gardens and in the bushveld environment of the reserve itself. Stroll along our own private nature trail, where prolific birdlife can be observed. Encounter some of Africa's wildlife close up. Animals to be seen include kudu, impala, blesbok, wildebeest, eland, giraffe and zebra, Other small mammals and reptiles are often seen.

The Gauteng region

The property is located in beautiful hilly bush veld country in the foothills of the magnificent Magaliesberg mountains, northwest of Johannesburg

There are numerous places of interest and tourist attractions in the surrounding area.
Only half an hour's drive from all the major shopping centres in Joburg's northern suburbs.

Only 15 minutes from Lanseria Airport with connections to Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth. This airport also serves destinations such as The Okavango Delta and Victoria Falls.

Johannesburg / Crocodile River Valley area

Oori River Lodge is just 5 km off the R512, the road that leads to Hartebeestpoort Dam and the North. It is close to the UNESCO Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site with its Interpretation Centre. Also in the vicinity are the world famous Sterkfontein Caves and The Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve.

The Pilanesberg National Park, home to the Big 5, Sun City and The Lost City are less than 2 hour's drive away

Karee Cottage is a charming thatched cottage for 2 guests consisting of a comfortable living room with satellite TV, a double bedroom, a kitchen/dining area, a scullery and bathroom. Kitchen facilities include a microwave, electric oven and fridge/freezer. Outside the cottage is a paved terrace leading onto a barbecue area with its own private lawns overlooking the river.

The lodge rooms have separate access to the gardens. Light lunches and dinner can be provided by arrangement.
Coffee/tea trays are provided in all rooms

Oori River Lodge is family run with old fashioned South African hospitality and wide local knowledge
