The Costa de la Luz / Cadiz Province region

Andalucia is one of Europe’s most impressive areas of unspoilt and beautiful countryside.

This southernmost part of Spain has 23 nature parks (similar to the UK’s National Parks), the largest of these is Los Alcornocales (the world’s biggest area of natural cork oak forest).

It extends from the Straits of Gibraltar to the high mountains of the Ronda Sierra and covers an area of 425,000 acres of wild country which is mainly mountainous and boasts views of the Southern Atlantic and Mediterranean Oceans.

Activities and recreation are plentyful in this area of Andalucia, Spain.

Excellent local restaurants for tapas and many Andalus specialities. Abundant seafood: fresh lobsters, langoustines, fresh tuna, swordfish, turbot, sole, sea anemones and clams. And a wide selection of fresh fruit (sub-tropical) and vegetables throughout the year.

In the unspoilt Atlantic beaches you may enjoy various activities: windsurfing, riding, walking, scuba diving, sailing, whale and dolphin watching.

Flamenco, Fiestas and Ferias, start at Easter and continue into summer. Jerez Feria in May has to be seen for the Andalus horses and carriages.

As for golf, we have some of the best courses in the world nearby, plus others more and suitable for novices.

Further details indoors:
La Fuente Vieja is a beautiful hacienda-style villa, tastefully & comfortably furnished, filled with rustic antiques, authentic paintings & other interesting objects of art.

There is a large comfortable lounge with stunning Catalan vaulted ceiling a bar & several dining areas peppered with bouquets of dried flowers and bowls of aromatic herbs & pot pourri, an open plan kitchen leading to a spacious pantry which gives access to the natural spring and BBQ area.

An un-balustraded staircase leads upstairs to a library landing and leads directly onto the veranda overlooking the river.

La Fuente Vieja has three double bedrooms and three bathrooms two of which are en-suite.

Silk wall hangings adorn the double bedded pink room with private dressing room.

The twin bedded blue room is also decorated with original paintings and fresh cotton prints.

A light and airy yellow room, with views of the mountains, with double pine bed and separate bathroom which completes the trio in the villa.

Fully fitted laundry room with stunning views over the river.

Further details outdoors:
As captivating as the house is, it's glories are certainly rivalled in the exotic beauty of the tropical gardens where pleasing areas abound for quiet repose.

Perhaps the most beautiful of these areas is beside the ancient spring after which the house is named.

In the dappled shade of the lush plants water trickles from the moss covered rocks into a pool alive with darting carp, colourful goldfish and Koi. This area also offers BBQ facilities.

The large, plant-covered, front terrace with views of the national park and river, has several comfortable dining and seating areas.

A completely private and secluded, walled tropical garden lush with flowers, schrubs, banana and orange trees provide the magical settig for the turquise waters of the gorgeous kidney shaped swimming pool.

The pool and garden is lit at night which creates yet another setting for dining alfresco.
