Enquire nowThe North East Italy / Veneto region
The Veneto is one of Northern Italy's most beautiful and diverse areas, where cultural gems like Venice and Murano are complemented by the outstanding natural beauty of the Dolomite Mountains to the north and the golden Adriatic coastline to the east.
Venice is easily accessible by bus (one hour), or boat and bus (90 minutes), for a day trip or even half a day. The bus takes you to the main bus station in Venice, the bus/boat route drops you off direct at St Mark’s Square. This route is one of the nicest ways to reach Venice and the boat stops at Burano, the Venice Lido as well as St Mark’s Square. The boats run every half hour. All buses depart from the main bus station in Jesolo Lido.
Other beauties of the Veneto also lie on your doorstep. Padova, Murano, Trieste and Treviso are an hour’s drive away. Only two hours’ drive from Jesolo are the breathtakingly beautiful Dolomite mountains. And if you want to go slightly further afield, Milan and the spectacular Como Lakes are only two hours by motorway.
The Jesolo Lido area
The Lido di Jesolo, or Jesolo Lido for Anglophones, used to be an uninhabited local beach for the people who lived in the small historic town of Jesolo, 3km inland, but its endless soft sand beach and the gentle water of the Adriatic sea saw its post-war popularity boom as a tourist destination, leading to extensive development with the result that the resort now dominates the town of Jesolo in importance.
The Lido stretches 15km along the coast but is only about 1km wide. It’s a very popular summer resort for Italians from all walks of life, but is quiet and peaceful outside of the July-August high season when the population temporarily explodes for the summer, earning it the nickname “the Italian Miami”. The long strip is subdivided into three main areas respectively called “Lido Est”, “Lido Centre” and “Lido Ouest”, and is punctuated by a string of piazzas whose names are useful aids to navigation.
Jesolo Lido Village is situated near Piazza Milano in “Lido Est”, the area where most of the locals live. Primarily residential, it is relatively quiet even in the high season. This area is also referred to as the “Zona Pineta” because of the large numbers of indigenous pine trees which line the streets and fill the parks.
The address of Jesolo Lido Village is Via Levantina 158, which is just after the Hospital (If you get lost, ask for “Ospedale”). Apartment 36 is situated on the ground floor at the South end of Jesolo Lido Village, just 100m or a two-minute walk from the sea.
The nightlife, shopping and hotels are predominately located in “Lido Ouest” and in “Lido Centre”, which begins about 3km west of the apartment.

| Nearest Travel Links | |
| Airport: | Venice Marco Polo: 32 km |
| Railway: | Venice Mestre: 44 km |
| Ferry: | Venice: 44 km |
Jesolo Lido (Lido di Jesolo) is easily accessible from two main airports: Venice Marco Polo and Treviso. Easyjet and BML both fly into Venice Marco Polo airport, while Ryanair fly into Treviso airport.
By Bus :
The regional transport service ATVO runs a bus service direct between Lido di Jesolo and the airport, journey time approximately 35 minutes. Buses run every 20 minutes / every hour, depending on time of day. A single costs 3.10€, luggage is extra, 1.65€/piece.
You can buy tickets on the bus, or at the ATVO stand at the airport (on the left as you exit bagage control.) Stamp the ticket in the yellow machine on entry.
To find the bus stop, leave the airport by the main doors near the café, and head for the 2nd loading bay immediately on the right . Beware!! Buses for other destinations also leave from the same stop, check the destination on the front of the bus before you get on or you might accidentally end up in St Dona di Piave, like I did the first time!
You can find detailed timetable information on the ATVO website, www.atvo.it (in Italian only).
Bus services are less frequent outside of the summer season May-September.
The buses stop at Piazza Draco, the central transport hub for Lido di Jesolo. The apartment is a good half-hour walk away, or alternatively you can get a local bus, number 2, direction Jesolo Est/Cortellazzo. Ask for the stop after Ospidale. The local bus service runs every 30 minutes approx, tickets cost 1€.
By Taxi :
A taxi direct from Marco Polo airport to Jesolo Lido will cost you approximately 50€.Usual journey time is 20-30 minutes, but be prepared for heavy traffic at peak times in the summer season, in particular on Friday evenings when the locals head up to the beach for the weekend.
To find the taxi stand, leave the airport by the main doors and head for the 1st loading bay immediately on the left.
You will need to book if you want a taxi back to the airport from the apartment : Numbers of local taxi services in Jesolo Lido are as follows :
Taxi Mauro 338 933 4243
Taxi Cristian (6-seater) 320 350 7350
Alternatively, you can head up to the main bus station at Piazza Draco where there is a taxi stand.
By Car :
As you exit the car rental area, follow brown signs for “Mare” (the sea), taking first right at the roundabout immediately after the petrol station. This is the feeder road for the A4 motorway.
Continue on this road to the next roundabout, then turn right onto the motorway, following direction Treviso. After 2km, take the right-hand lane onto the slip road right which is signposted for Jesolo, this is the SS14. Continue on this road until Portegrandi, then take a right following signs to Caposile and Jesolo. At Caposile, follow the blue signs for Jesolo, turning right immediately after you have crossed the river. You will eventually get to a large roundabout, take first right for Lido di Jesolo (NOT Jesolo). This leads you straight to Piazza Draco, the transport hub of the resort; you will know you’ve got there when you reach a roundabout and see a shopping centre straight ahead with a large blue & turquoise awning in the form of a wave. At the roundabout, follow the signs for “Lido Est” and/or “Pineta”, on the left.
If you accidentally take a turning for Jesolo instead of Jesolo Lido, no need to panic. Drive through the town and follow signs for “Lido Est”. and/or “Zona Pineta”, this will bring you – by one of several routes - into the right area of Lido di Jesolo.
When driving in the area, you will often see brown signs for “Mare”, these signs all lead to Jesolo Lido.
Returning hire cars to the airport :
If you need to fill up with petrol before returning the hire car, the AGIP garage located opposite the parking area for the hire cars operates 24 hours, but is self-service/pre-pay for most of this time. You will need cash in 5€ 10€ and 20€ notes. The system works like this : you go first to the cash machine, select a pump on the screen, guess how much petrol you’re going to need & then feed in the notes. The pump is then activated to deliver the amount of petrol you’ve paid for, no refunds. If you underestimated, and the tank still isn’t full, you have to start the whole process again.
You may be lucky and happen on a pump attendant who will fill up and charge you for the exact amount, but in our experience this is a rare occurrence!!
From Treviso Airport
By Bus :
In the summer season (June-September), The regional transport service ATVO runs a direct bus service from Treviso Airport to Lido di Jesolo, the timetable is scheduled to connect with most arrival flights from the UK. Outside of these times, you can still buy a ticket for Lido di Jesolo but you will have to change, taking a first bus from Treviso airport to St Dona di Piave and a second bus from St Dona di Piave to Lido di Jesolo. The total journey time will vary from 50-90 minutes, depending on whether you have to change and how long you have to wait at St Dona di Piave.
The ticket desk is situated on the right hand side of the Arrivals hall as you come out of baggage reclaim. A single costs 3.10€, luggage is extra, 1.65€/piece.
The buses are parked directly outside the main entrance.
By Taxi :
A taxi direct from Treviso airport to Jesolo Lido will cost you approximately 80€.Usual journey time is 40-50 minutes, but be prepared for heavy traffic at peak times in the summer season, in particular on Friday evenings when the locals head up to the beach for the weekend.
By Car :
As you exit the car rental area, follow brown signs for “Mare” (the sea).
