The handsomely furnished spacious 30' drawing room, dining room and hall allow for large families, special occasions and groups; outside catering is available on request. Beautifully appointed bedrooms and bathrooms including a 4 poster. On sunny days the sun streams in through the south facing waterfront aspect of this lovely home. Have a barbecue and play on the spacious lawns. Surrounded by sheep, ponies and cattle and glorious birdsong, this is a peaceful haven away from the normal stresses of life., and yet still close to civilisation!

How to get there

Many airlines fly to Edinburgh, from there hire a car at airport Avis/Hertz/Europcar etc.

1hour and 45 minutes to drive south east.via A68.
From London it is 6 hrs drive.
Newcastle 1.5 hrs drive north on A68.

GNER trains to Berwick on Tweed then 40 minutes by car

Rosyth Ferry from Zeebrugge and then drive south 2 hours

There is one family bedroom on the ground floor comprising twin beds plus a set of bunk beds. There is a WC and WHB on ground floor. The ground floor is easily accessible to wheelchairs. 'z' beds and high chair cot and baby crib available. 30' Drawing room, spacious dining room, Family kitchen with breakfast area, Utility area. Drying area inside and out. Ample utensils, china and cutlery for entertaining.

There are 2 summer houses and extensive lawns leading down to the Kale water (unfenced) however the garden is enclosed. Fantastic views, easy or challenging walks.

Private fishing. (some swimming 'pools' for the hardy.)
Gorgeous barbecue areas with games and outdoor furniture. A real suntrap.
Ample gravelled driveway parking.
Outdoor courtyard hose for cleaning gear and drying. Secure storage.
Log and coal house for supply to open fireplaces.
Local village hall available for rent for parties of up to 60.
Local church available for Services, weddings christenings etc.

25% deposit on confirmation of booking. Balance due 42 days before arrival.
Booking forms can be emailed or posted to you.

Well behaved dogs love Glebe House and must be kept on leads when walking the hills because of lambing.
Children love the freedom and the large bedrooms!
Recycling of refuse has started in the area. Please follow the advice in house.
Please do not bring products containing bleach, to protect the river.

Swimming in the stream was 'COOL!' Peter and Jo.

Wedding Bells chimed in the church for our May wedding next door and with a marquee on the lawn it was the perfect place for holding the ceilidh and the Hog Roast!

The perfect holiday, we spent 2 weeks in summer as a family with 3 teenagers, and still didn't manage to see and do everything we wanted.

A wonderful house for Christmas! Loved all the books.

Mixed weather did not matter, the walking was splendid, vast spaces and so empty of people on the hills. Our group will be back. So relaxing! Gorgeous gardens. Lawns for games.

What did we like least? Answer "--Leaving! -- We will be back"
