Rose Cottage is situated in the beautiful Oxnam valley only 4 miles from the historic town of Jedburgh. The cottage sits in its own private child friendly garden and is surrounded by fields and winding country lanes, great for walking or cycling to explore a hidden part of the Scottish Borders.
There is of street parking at the cottage also the garden is enclosed and child friendly with safe enclosed areas , the cottage has full central heating and wood burning stoves for those cooler evenings.
The cottage has a luxury feel which is complimented by the beautiful bedrooms (king size with en suite, two further kingsize and a twin). All are well appointed and come with super soft linen and extremely comfortable beds to ensure your stay at Rose Cottage is as relaxing as possible. There is also a large family bathroom with bath and separate shower.
For your convenience we offer wi-fi internet, a selection of books, board games and a welcome pack which includes home made jam, local bacon, eggs .
Outside there is a lovely country garden with a small pond and planted flower beds, a gravelled BBQ area with outdoor seating and table and a lawned area which also has an outdoor table with parasol and beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.

All of the beds are made up and towels are provided. A cot and highchair can be provided upon request.
The kitchen has an original oil fired Rayburn and a electric double oven and hob. We also provide picnic baskets, cool boxes, plastic plates, tumblers, picnic rugs and flasks for are guests to use.
On the ground floor there is a large walk in store cupboard with microwave and an American style fridge/ freezer with ice dispenser and chilled water.

The garden is private with tables and chairs enough for 8. On the door step is a cycle route taking you through some of the lovely country lanes, very little traffic here just the odd deer.
Walking has always been a great past time in the Scottish borders, with the Chieviots on the door step, St Cuthebert's Way and Kielder Forest only a short drive away. There are a number of walks through country tracks in the borders and we have a detailed pack on how to find them at the Cottage.

We offer rental for one night stay package for 4 guests £140 plus the welcome pack which has every thing for breakfast for 4 people, the price for 8 guests is £280 for one night also a welcome pack for breakfast.
For guests who are travelling with babies the cottage has a cot with bedding provided.
During the Autumn and Winter montths we provide logs and coal for guests for the first 2 days, there are logs and coal to be bought in Jedburgh.

The Scottish borders is steeped in history and places of interest to visit from castles to beautiful country houses and gardens, there is something for every one, the country side seems to go on as for as the eye can see , with beaches only a short drive away including the majestic Bamburgh Castle.
There are many out door activities to try through out the year, with quad biking, horse riding,fishing, to name but a few so on your visit you might try something new.
Also coming to the borders to look at the star constellations and stargazing is becoming very popular with are guests, as there is no light pollution in some areas which is perfect for watching the stars.
Jedburgh is the perfect location to start your tour of the borders, the town is full of history with the Mary Queen of Scots house, the Castle /jail and the iconic Abbey ,other attractions are the Abbeys at Melrose and Kelso and the wonderfull Floors Castle with its beautifull gardens and award winning cafe .

Edinburgh is only one hour from Jedburgh by car, there is a park and ride service just out side of Edinburgh were you can leave your car and catch a bus in to the heart of Edinburgh,excerllent service takes the hassle out of finding a parking space. There is also a exspress bus service from Jedburgh to Edinburgh.
For those who seek the great outdoors the Scottish borders offers the full package, fishing on the Tweed some of the best in the UK , and only 10 mins drive from the cottage , for those who like a round of golf the borders offers 21 courses, Jedburgh course only 10 mins from the cottage.
Walking through some of the lovely country lanes and bridle ways at any time of year lifts the spirt, with the wonderfull views the border country side has to offer.
