Le Petit St. Jean is a charming stone built cottage which forms part of an old farm which has been lovingly restored by its British owners.It has exposed beams, and is set in a large garden containing a variety of plants and trees. Although secluded, the local village with all amenities is only a 10 minute walk away.
As the owners live in the farmhouse separated by barns from the cottage you are assured of a friendly welcome and as much (or as little) advice as you require during your stay. All linen is provided for the cottage and there is a welcome pack for your arrival.

The Normandy / Orne region
Should you wish to venture further afield Le Mans is an hours drive, the Normandy beaches are an hour and a half and the beautiful Loire Valley can be reached in just over two. Whilst Paris, Euro Disney and Brittany are a little further they are well within the scope of a day trip. Coastal beaches one and a half hours drive.
Javron les Chapelles area
Set in lovely countryside ideal for fishing, walking, cycling, sight-seeing or just relaxing with a glass of wine, the British owners will happily point you in the direction of local activities, many of which have been recommended by previous guests.
10 minute walk to local village containing boulangerie, small supermarket, pharmacy, bank, two restaurants and two bars. Large supermarket etc. less than 15 mins drive. Two large lakeside man-made beaches with very safe swimming less than half an hour drive.
If you are looking for something close to home, Le Petit St Jean is only twenty minutes from the sophisticated spa town of Bagnoles de l'Orne. Situated on the edge of a lake, the town contains a casino, top quality restaurants, pavement cafes, bars and a variety of shops along with an open air pool, golf course and tennis courts.
How to get there
On the border of Normandy and Pays de la Loire. Between Alencon and Mayenne, and close to the spa town of Bagnoles de l'Orne.

Caen - 1.5 hours drive Cherbourg, Le Havre, St Malo - approx 2.5 hrs drive Boulogne - 4.5 hours drive Calais - 5 hours

Own front door leading to large cottage-style open-plan kitchen/living room. Wood burning stove in fireplace and wooden staircase leading to first floor. Fully fitted kitchen area with large work surfaces, fridge, microwave and electric hob. Armchairs and sofa-bed (enabling cottage to sleep six) dining table and chairs, CD player and plenty of books and maps on surrounding area. French doors at rear leading to private patio with plants and small grassed area.
Bedrooms:
Both on first floor with traditional exposed beams on walls and ceilings. They are fully carpeted with electric radiators. Bedroom one has an antique wooden bed, wardrobe and dressing table with shuttered window overlooking garden, whilst bedroom two contains twin pine beds, dressing table and hanging rail.

On first floor. Large shower room with part wood panelled walls, shower, toilet, basin and radiator.
Further details outdoors: As well as the private patio, the cottage's front door opens on to a large garden/orchard which holidaymakers have full use of. This contains mature flower gardens, outdoor furniture and a splash pool. The cottage is down a private lane and has wonderful views of surrounding countryside making it totally secluded and very safe for children.
Large heavy duty splash pool available if required. Several outside pools nearby with the closest being only 15 minutes drive.
