The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region
The Costa Blanca is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. Travelling along the Costa Blanca you will find a world of spectacular contrasts, with fishing villages almost hidden away along the coast and large towns which are bursting with life. The coastline stretches 170 miles along the south east coast of Spain, centred on Alicante and running from Valencia in the north through to La Manga in the south.
The area has a good climate that is pleasant most of the year and the average temperature during the summer months reaches the low 30s and rarely falls below 16 degrees in winter. The beaches here are one of the biggest attractions to tourists and most of them comprise of wonderfully clean, white sand.
Javea / La Mandarina area
Javea is an exclusive resort with a substantial number of English residents. The old town and port is situated next to a long sandy beach fringed with orange groves and set against the backdrop of the Montgo mountains. Apart from this magnificent setting, Jávea offers a superb choice of fine restaurants and bars as well as an excellent choice of watersports, two golf courses and a range of other leisure activities.
Just inland from Jávea is the Jálon valley, whose breathtaking landscape, authentic restaurants and handicraft shops give a taste of the real Spain. The area is a walker's and cyclist's paradise, with routes ranging from a very gentle stroll to a six hour walk around the Sierra Bernia mountains to the south of Jálon. Also known as the Valley of Wine, the Jálon valley is famous for its vine-covered slopes, as well as the almond trees that blossom in January/February creating a blanket of pink and white that is a sight to behold.
