The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

Los lagos lies in the Montgo Natural Park. This region of the Costa Blanca is known as the Marina Alt, being on the east coast of mainland Spain which consists of the provinces of Valencia, Castella and Alicante.

Mount Montgo dominates Javea with its imposing grandeur while protecting the valley from the north winds. The whole region has been proclaimed 'environmentally near perfect' by the World Health Organization.

Climate in the Costa Blanca is recognised by the World Health Organisation as the best all year round climate in the world. It is not as hot and humid in the summer as the Costa del Sol nor is it as cold and wet as the Costa Brava in the winter. Costa Blanca has nearly as many sunshine days in the winter as it does in the summer.

The towns of Calpe, Altea, Benidorm and the beautiful mountain village of Guadalest are within an hours drive.

Costa Blanca offers a multitude of activities and entertainment suitable for all. The many fabulous beaches put water sports at the top of the list. Sailing, yachting, wind surfing, scuba diving and jet skiing are just a few of the many choices available.

The diverse and picturesque landscape of the region makes it a great place for hiking and walking, cycling and horse riding.

There are spectacular views to be had from the top of the mountain ranges in the north and stunning countryside scenery to enjoy from further inland. Additional activities include golf, fishing, cultural events, museums and buildings of historical interest.

Javea / Jesus Pobre area

Jesus Pobre is a small Spanish village a short walk or a 3 minute car ride away. It has a full range of local facilities including a bakery, chemist, grocer, banks, bars and restaurants. So visitors to Los Lagos need go no further for any daily requirements should the preference be to stay close to home.

Javea / Xabia comprises of three areas:
The old town of Javea (Pueblo), is where visitors go to experience ‘real’ Spain. Set on top of a hill and over looking the port and beach, Pueblo combines narrow Moorish streets, Gothic white washed buildings and the old church; San Bartolome with great local tapas bars, a lively food market selling fresh fruit and vegetables and a whole host of traditional shops.
This lovely little piece of history is well worth walking around to enjoy all the centre has to offer.

Javea Puerto, also referred to as the port area of the town, is still today a bustling fishing and mineral port. Yachts and boats are moored in the vicinity and Puerto is an extremely popular place to visit with it's lovely wide promenade and its own beach, La Grava. A range of open air, terrace restaurants set slightly back all provide traditional Spanish cuisine and tapas plus spectacular views across the bay.

The main beach area of the town, Playa del Arenal, stretches for 300 metres. This wonderful beach, with its fine sand, palm trees, shallow water and many water sports ,make it a very relaxing place by day, and come the evening there is a vast array of restaurants, craft stalls and bars with live music, all set along a wide promenade. It all helps to create a great night-life environment for all ages.
