About the home

Our villa is on the Montgo mountain near the town of Javea. We are in a quiet residential area, but close to the local beaches, shops and night-life. With fantastic views, a shady garden and a new pool, we have all you need for a relaxing holiday.

The house is organised around the Naya (Veranda) and the sitting room which faces south with views across the valley. There is a South facing outside patio, level with the living room and Naya and overlooking the pool and the valley - ideal for keeping an eye on the children and later for evening dining.

All the bedrooms are air conditioned. The master bedroom has a double bed and an en-suite and there are single beds in the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms.

We bought the house in 2008 and the previous owner was a keen gardener. His work can be seen in the mature plants, trees and lawns that surround the property, creating shady spots for the hot summer days.

Broadband speed wireless internet is available at cost (currently e45 per month or part). High chairs and a cot can be provided, again by arrangement. Satellite TV provides 100 channels of English and some Spainsh language programs including BBC and Sky news, CNN, Euronews, BBC sports channels, 2 or 3 film channels and UK radio stations.

We have an English speaking managing agent whose office is nearby. They are available during your stay by phone and email.

The pool was completed in 2009. We have built an elevated deck to the west side of the house at the same level as the sitting room. This overlooks (and has access down to) the pool and in the evening allows for outside dining with views over the valley.

A 20% deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance of the rental must be paid 8 weeks prior to arrival together with a refundable GBP250 security deposit.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

We are located in the scenic Montgo Parc Natural, close to the town and beaches of Javea and equidistant to Valencia in the north and Alicante in the South.

There are many places to explore along the coast and inland. For example, the waterfalls at the Fonts d'Algar are a 30 minutes drive away . The pretty hilltop town of Guadalest is just an hours drive away on a scenic road. During the summer their are many wonderful fiestas.

For the more adventurous, within 25 minutes drive there are many theme parks including Terra Mitica (http://www.terramiticapark.com/), Aqualandia water park (http://www.aqualandia.net/index.php?conf=conf_en) and Mundomar animal park (http://www.mundomar.es/). There is also a new Science Park & an Oceanographic Park at Valencia, which are well worth the trip. Golf at the La Sella golf resort (http://www.lasellagolf.com/es/la-sella-golf.html) is just a 5 minute drive away.

Ferries leave Denia harbour daily for the short crossings to Ibiza and Majorca.

The Javea / Montgo area

The Montgo is Javeas prime Villa residential area - mixing year round residents with Spainish and ex-pat. holiday home owners. The elevated position allows views over the valley and beyond and afternoon breezes help to cool things down. Google Earth and Street View now include our subdivision, so you can take a virtual tour of the Montgo - simply type 'Calle Piscis, Javea, Spain' into the ´fly to' box on Google Earth and make sure you have the 'Street View' layer checked.

Javea is protected from harsh winter winds of the north by the massif of Montgó (753 m / 2,471 ft) and it enjoys a unique micro-climate that the World Health Organisation named as one of the healthiest in the world. There are more recorded hours of sunshine per year than in any other place in Spain, making it a popular destination for Northern Europeans during the cold winter months.

Javea really is the town with something for everyone. Beaches, historical sites, colonial era buildings all within easy walking distance. The old town in particular is a great place to explore and feel a sense of Spanish history.

The old port area is still home to the local fishermen. Javea is a real working town with a tourist infrastructure that supports visitors without losing the charm. The blue flag beach is great for children and safe for swimming.

There are clubs and restaurants, For the energetic their are Golf courses and sailing clubs (with English speaking classes for children). There is a shooting range, riding stables, tennis courts, bowling clubs and undersea diving facilities.

Our week away at Villa Chilango was fantastic. What an amazing location! We've stayed in quite a few villas in Spain (and in the Javea region) in the past, but your place really stood out! The villa & mature gardens are lovely, the whole place was absolulely spotless, and the view......wow. We took some great photos.! We will definitely be coming back.! .....Sep 2010

The location of the villa is fantastic and the accommodation itself was very nice and had everything we needed. The outside space in particular was tremendous - we loved the terrace and the gardens and our toddler loved playing around and inside the pool. Unlike other accommodation we have stayed in there was a real personal touch to the villa with little essentials like coals and lighter fluid for the barbecue, the lilos for the pool etc, giving us everything we needed.... The rest of the holiday was spent either around the great pool relaxing, playing on the lovely beaches or eating and drinking at our favourite beach restaurant. Breakfast has not been the same since we have returned, miss sitting on the patio looking at that amazing view. ....June 2010

We all loved the villa and had a great holiday. The weather was lovely and the pool was a godsend; I think the kids spent more time in it than out! We are all agreed that we would happily return to Chilango on our next visit to Javea. Aug 2011

This property is perfect for a wonderful stay in the best part of the Costa Blanca. Every comfort for the holiday maker is provided in the villa: Internet, satellite tv, air conditioning and a terrace with views to die for! This was my first visit back to this area and Spain for some time and Villa Chilango has made it a very memorable one. Do not hesitate to book a stay here! ....Sep 2011

Our house is about an hours easy drive from either Valencia or Alicante airports. The A-7 motorway connects both airports and is around 7km from the house.

“Perfect combination of location, accommodation, pool & gardens” We spent 2 blissful weeks at Chilango with our 5 year old twins and grandparents. The pool, being the most important thing was big, very warm and in constant use. It has plenty of surrounding space, great views and then more shaded areas just up behind in the garden. A car is a must but the location is great for spending the mornings at the beach with a choice of Denia, Javea, Moraira all within 30mins (10mins to Javea). The terrace overlooking the pool was ideal for keeping an eye on the kids, having a drink or eating meals. As keen cooks a larger kitchen would have been nice but we understand plans are in place to double the size by summer 2013. Chilango is spacious, quiet, well equipped and private... a 4 week stay this coming summer would be just about right :)

“Chill out at Chilango!” Over a year late posting this having forgot to do it last August (2011) when we got back, sorry David! Great villa with an awesome view across the valley and not too far away from nearby towns/beaches. Pool/patio area was great and the kids loved it!! Highly recommended.

“Dream honeymoon is Dream Villa” My Husband and I chose Villa Chillango for our honeymoon. We had excellent super quick communication with the Villa owner who was brilliant from start to finish. The pictures on this site simply do not do this Villa justice. The villa has all the Spanish charm with the most unbelievable breath taking views. There is so much space and the location is perfect for so many things including a super handy mini supermarket at the bottom of the road now open Sunday which most Spanish supermarkets are not. We have holidayed at many villa's and this by far has been the best. We used the pool all day as it was nearly 35 degrees on several days. the kitchen has all the things you would do at home that are often so lacking in rental properties, including enough plates, cutlery etc for several meals even if the Villa has 6 staying. Do not hesitate in renting this Villa you will love it. We plan to go back next year as we loved it so much.

“Heveanly!” My husband, 5 year old son and I have just returned from Chilango and loved every minute of our holiday. The villa is ideally situated within 10 minutes of the beach by car but at the foot of Montgo mountain with its spectacular views and scenery. The villa is very secluded and peaceful with a couple of good restaurants within a few minutes drive. The inside of the villa is furnished with good quality furniture, mattresses and tv, dvd player & music system. Plenty of cutlery, cups, glasses, plates etc. The pool is a very good size and very well kept as are the rest of the grounds. An excellent villa for both couples and families. We would strongly recommend villa Chilango and would definitely stay there again ourselves.
