House | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 8
Would you like to stay with your partner and perhaps some other friends in a lovely welcoming house that feels like home?
Do you want to be based somewhere that feels like Spain, rather than in a resort area full of northern europeans that could be almost anywhere?
Do you like to be close to a selection of shops and restaurants without the need to jump in the car to go out for a meal in the evening?
Do you need to be able to stay in touch with a fast WiFi internet connection while youare away
If the answer if YES then Casa Toscana could be the one for you.
This house is right in the middle of old Javea town with its every growing selection of cafes and restaurants, yet the street and surrounding areas are traffic free, providing places for people to meet and while away happy hours in nearby cafes, watching the world go by with a glass of wine and some tapas.
The house itself if well appointed with giant walk-in showers and toscana stone used decoratively in a number of rooms.
The roof terrace is perfect for sunbathing. It has a pergola for shade and makes a great location for a long lazy breakfast with fresh pastries and fruits bought from the local covered market just up the road. The sea front is a brisk 20 minute walk away in the bustling port area, which has its own beach. Beyond that is the wide sandy beach of the Arenal.
This beautifully presented house provides a perfect holiday home particularly suitable for adults - its location makes it suitable for all seasons.Great views from the roof terrace to the Montgo and further mountains in the distance A museum, an excellent library, art gallerys and the beautiful San Bartolome church can all be found in the surrounding narrow streets.

The Costa Blanca/Valencia region
Javea has a unique microclimate and has been voted by the World Health Organization as one of the healthiest in the world, Its location by the Cabo de Nao peninsula jutting into the Mediterranean, makes it the most easterly point in mainland Spain. On a clear day you can see across to Ibiza which can be reached by regular ferries from nearby Denia town.
Javea is a popular destination year-round. It is famed for receiving the most hours of sunshine in Spain. For those living in the north of Europe where daily sunshine falls to 1 or 2 hours in the mie 6 hours of sunlight that Javea sees in January is quite appealing!
It is divided into three sections each with their own character :
- the old town or Pueblo, with its narrow cobbled streets and real Spanish character
- the port with its lovely mix of fishing boats, yachts and restaurants
- the main beach area the Arenal.
See http://www.holiday-weather.com/javea/ for moredetails.
I have been visiting Javea for many years and never get tired of it. You have such a wide selection of things to do:
- Food and drink in the old town is great, especially if you like tapas, the spanish little dishes of food that you can just keep on ordering until you are full up.
- Endless walks -around the town, up into the hills and onto the Montgo mountain, or by the stunning coastline that in places is reminiscent of S. France without the traffic,
- Great choice of beaches from the stony beach at the port - there is a plafrom to swim out to and relax on in the summer months, to the enormal Arenal with its gently shelving beach of fine sand perfect for children, to some of the beautiful smaller bays that are a short drive away.
- Golf courses
- Aqualandia Waterpark and theme parks 45 mins by car
-There are many longer trips you can do to cities or inland, by car or train.
The Northern Costa Blanca is noticably greener than the south thanks to a mountain range that feeds water in. This makes the countryside very pretty. A trip inland is well worthwhile - there are restaurants perched atop mountains that can be visited at any time of year. Javea is midway between Valencia and Alicante and both cities are well worth a visit if you have time. They can be reached via a short drive or taxi/bus then catching the train if you prefer not to drive in the cities. In February the countr side around is full of almond blossom and oranges.
